Christopher, Ronald, Paul, Steven, and Anthony were drinking together and empting the glasses one after the other. Christopher and his three friends were at their peak. But Anthony was drinking with caution.
"So, Anthony, where are you roaming so late in the night?" Steven asked patting on his back.
He seemed to be sufficiently drunk.
"I actually came to you, regarding the treat." Taking the

Perplexed Detective Sam slowly entered the warehouse, moved forward, and looked around for the cat. It was already dark in the warehouse and the cat was black, so it was difficult to find it. He took a wide look of the warehouse. At one place, he found some files covered with dust. He went to the files. The files were at little height. He was curious to know what those files contained. He
I think combining these two novels under one cover was a good idea. Athyra would not have ranked high as a stand alone. I’m not quite sure why but I didn’t care nearly as much for it as I have the rest of the books. Vlad spent too much time in introspection, I think. Orca got back to having a little more action and interplay between characters. I found it much more entertaining. There are quit
Handcuffed Anthony came out of the warehouse, surrounded by armed police force, for he was not some simple killer, he was a serial killer, who had killed four victims one after the other. Police took Anthony to a car. Detective Sam waited back at the warehouse gate. He seemed to be moved by the incidence.

I found the other day. It is a site where no novel is longer than 299 words. Think about it, convey what you mean succinctly. That immediately leaves me out as verbosity is my trademark. Regardless, I joined the neighborhood. I read some posts and suggest that you too read them. In an age of escalating verbiage, this site is refreshing to read and enjoy. Now if we could just get co
Detective Sam was sipping a morning tea leisurely sitting in the foyer. Apparently, he was watching TV, but his mind was drowned in thought, probably about the serial killer case. The prison was covered in darkness. George was sitting in the corner of his cell drowned in thoughts. Suddenly George got up and started ripping his clothing.
He tore off his shirt. Out of the torn cloth, he made a doll. After finishing the doll, a menacing smile crept over his face.

Recently I had the pleasure of attending the Star Trek books panel at New York Comic Con. I was fascinated as the editor and a few authors described what was to come in Star Trek fiction. In middle school I read close to a hundred of these paperback novels. Maybe I should check these books out again, I thought during the panel, and snapped up a free preview of the upcoming novels. I opened it to the first page of Star Trek: Enterprise: Kobayashi Maru, by Michael A. Martin & Andy Mangels (or possibly Christopher L. Bennett, the preview booklet credits both in different places). I immediately remembered why I don’t read Star Trek novels.

conanGrowing up I read nothing but comic books. I didn’t understand books like novels; I just didn’t understand why someone would want a book that had no pictures. My take was that - you only read such books because you had to - like in school - a math book or something. I just didn’t get the idea of reading pages and pages of words and novels were at the top of my don’t do list. See...an artist is a visual being, we see life in pictures(Sperry found we use another side of the brain...interesting), pictures we later paint or draw. Now, of course, things are certainly different but back in the day you couldn't have caught me with one of those hated “novels”. novelsYa know, growing up is something else, you just can’t believe how you change mentally and physically over the yea

I’ve never been one to read many novels. I’ve always had plenty of other stuff to read that seemed far more important. And for the most part, my “serious” reading material has been more important. But just recently, I’ve started to realize that novels may have a place as well.
I realized this the other day, when I was having some difficulty writing. For some reason, the words weren’t flowing, and the sentences sound forced once I finally did get something down on paper. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the first time it had happened. Now and then, my creative juices seem to temporarily dry up.
Naturally, I started thinking about how I could stop this problem. My thoughts turned to novelists - and how they seem to have no trouble writing clearly, smoothly, and - of course - descriptively. A good novel has a way of holding you… it has almost hypnotic powers. Temporarily, there’s nothing more important to you than finishing the next page.

Well as a young girl, I remembered I had a vociferous appetite for reading Romance Novels while most of my school mates were busy playing with their dolls!
So I grew up dreaming of meeting the most romantic guy in the world and living happily ever after in a small cottage with sweet smelling roses.
The most romantic time for me would be when my husband surprised me on Valentine’s Day and chartered a private plane to whisk us off to a lovely island for a weekend sojourn.
We had a lovely time swimming in the sea, dine on exotic seafood and having long massages at the spa. It was truly a wonderful and memorable time for both of us and we learned to cherish one another more than ever after that.
I feel that romantic gestures like these keeps our relationship alive and also it remind us of the commitment and love we have for one another.
After 30 years of marriage bliss, we still have the sparkles for one another and you are truly blessed if you can find someone to share your life wi

Quote: Cleo Virginia Andrews, better known as V. C. Andrews or Virginia C. Andrews was an American author.Andrews' novels combine Gothic horror and family saga, revolving around family secrets and forbidden love (frequently involving themes of consensual incest, most often between siblings), and they often include a rags-to-riches story.Andrews' works (of which all but eight are ghost-written) are grouped into series of five books. In the first five series, several common elements are evident. The first few books are about the main character, who is commonly a girl. If you are involved in a meaningful and long term relationship with anybody, you must be knowing that romance is very vital aspect of any person and the person whom you love.Romance can take various different types of forms in a relationship, but the most important thing to be considered is that you should maintain the romantic feeling throughout your time together so as to promote longevity and a happier relationship. It plays a vital role in family life. The most important characteristics is that if you are in romance with somebody, you tend to forget the mistakes of the other person and a sense of forgiving starts building up. This is the essence of relationships. That has been the prime reason that most of the novels written are on romantic themes and a few of the best selling novels have been based on romance. Years ago, the romantic novels written are still part of today's curricula in colleges. I have just come across a website, which features various romance novels along with
Being in love is most a wonderful thing that can happen to me, I think everybody feels the same. When we are in love, you feel it in our heart, the sentiment is something you cannot describe, your heart beat every time you see that person; it can take place at any moment, is a feeling that is all the time on our mind, day in and day out. You start to forget the normal things and you only have eyes and thoughts for your love. I think, no, I’m sure, there is attraction at first sight, but is important to know a person to fall in love, the appearance in not the most important part, but what she has inside, and another important factor is the respect, is very essential to like each other. When I'm in love I feel that I'd like to do everything to make her happy, I like to make happy a woman!Recently I found a website called Mills & Boon, this website has extraordinary Romance Novels, here you also can find romance earlier before they hit the shop, is your opportunity to be the first
By: Steven BarnesDuring a recent telephone conversation, I mentioned having sent off the last revisions for my twentieth novel, "Great Sky Woman." There was a silence on the other side of the phone, followed by the question "How in the world do you do that? Twenty novels!"The truth is that I know many writers who have written far more than twenty novels. It is not that unusual. In fact, if you are a working writer, the "perfect" output is very close to a book a year. Less often than this, and the readers stop anticipating your next book, and wander to another writer's literary pasture. There is a commonality to the behavior patterns of successful writers, and a commonality to the behavior patterns of writers who just can't get started, can't get finished, or stall out at their first or third book.Successful, prolific writers:1) Write every day. That's EVERY day. They sit down, open their veins, and bleed into their computers. Yes, it can be painful, but if you don't maintain this
Author JK Rowling said, “It would feel wrong to create another fantasy universe in her future literary works.”
The incredibly successful billionaire has been at the center of attention since the final book,, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, in her series was published.
J.K. Rowling had made known, before the publication of the latest book, that she felt it would not be fair to continue following the doings of the magical world she created. She has confirmed this notion in an interview with the USA Today newspaper.
J.K. Rowling said, “I think that there will be some disappointment if I don’t write another fantasy. But I must admit, I think I’ve done my fantasy. To go and create another fantasy universe would feel wrong, and I don’t know if I’m capable of it.”
However, J.K. Rowling explained she is already at work on two new projects, one for children and one for adults. Many had thought she might find it difficult to come up with new
How can one possibly decide which novels he’d take with him to a deserted island? On the one hand, there’s all the great novels I’ve read that I want to reread. On the other hand, there’s all the great novels (or so someone has told me they’re great) that I have yet to read. What’s a guy to do?Yes, that’s right – make two lists. But first, let me say one thing. When choosing novels, the criteria is fundamentally different from when you’re choosing nonfiction. With nonfiction, I was looking for those books that would never cease to engage me intellectually. Sure, I’d much rather be reading Chesterton than Plato, but Chesterton would get old. Fast. Plato would only get better. With fiction, however, I’m not sure the requirement is primarily intellectual. Rather, it’s joy. Which stories have given me the most delight, the most fun, the most joy? This is the requirement for fiction, I think, because a novel or story that works for me won’t work for Woodward, and v
A few weeks ago, Woodward and I had a conversation about whether or not we reread our favorite novels. It really wasn't much of a conversation -- neither of us are big rereaders. For me, so far, there are only two stories (four novels) that I reread ever four or five years. The first is a Dungeons & Dragons fantasy trilogy -- The Dragonlance Chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. I read these novels (Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Dragons of Winter Night, and Dragons of Spring Dawning) when I was in the seventh grade. As I mentioned before, I was something of a D&D wannabe when I was in junior high -- I had the books and the dice but not a group to play with. So the first few D&D novels really captured my imagination, and, strangely, I can still read them with immense enjoyment. They're pure mind candy, but I love them. In fact, I just started rereading the trilogy a few days ago.The other novel I can reread with immense delight is Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird.

24-7 PressRelease publishes an article about how graphic novels could be an "explosive opportunity" for booksellers. Unfortunately, they send their whole arguement here down in flames with the following:Subject matter of the new genre runs the gamut from adult titles like Fun Home or Mom's Cancer to teen reads like American Born Chinese and Identity Crisis.Well well well, what a clever attempt at disguise - not! American Born Chinese may be a title suitable for teen/family, but Identity Crisis is only for the most perverted adults with a mind like a teenager. Putting a grisly book alongside one that's for the family and trying to pass it off as a teen book is dishonest and disgraceful.Another disgraceful mainstream article that does little more than to mislead the public, and families.

We should’ve seen this coming from miles away. During the announcement of New Line Cinema picking up the rights to make a Gears of War film (due in summer 2009), Epic VP and co-founder Mark Rein mentioned they developed an extensive backstory [to Gears of War] in hopes of utilizing it for a film as well as potential novels. To quote: “We wanted to make an entertainment property that’s not just for games but for other media.”
Through a paperback book listing of “Gears of War 1“ word got out via VH1 that former games journalist Steven Kent (of The Ultimate History of Video Games: From Pong to Pokemon –The Story Behind the Craze That Touched Our Lives and Changed the World fame) has a multi-book deal with Epic. The first 352-page novel in the series will be released in August 2007 by Del Rey Books at a retail price of $12.95.

There’s nothing quite like a viewing of the Black Stallion or settling in a comfy chair on a rainy afternoon and delving into the likes of the Silver Brumby or the classic Black Beauty. And really, this is where the passion for horses starts for many. It’s been a very interesting week – working at one of the riding schools and ending up with new instructors and therefore learning even more while in the saddle. This has been topped off by a weekend of teaching today and a gymkhana tomorrow and Monday I’m going to another Thoroughbred Sale. And in less than four weeks time, South Africa! Guess I can’t complain about things being boring ;)I had some friends over last night and yesterday morning in anticipation of wanting to eat lots of junk, I drove down to the local IGA store to stock up on the essentials – chocolate, icecream and Pringles. Where could you go wrong? My mistake – parking right in front of the Opp Shop next door to the IGA.Now I keep telling myself that

Have you ever listened to an audiobook? Have you been impressed by them, but not the price tag? Well, there is a niche in podcasting called Podcast novels or podiobooks. These are similar to audiobooks except the authors record them in a Podcast format and usually produce a chapter a week which are published via RSS feeds. These podiobooks like any Podcast are free. Take a try this week or weekend and a good place to start is at Podiobooks.com. This service lets you listen to the books from start to finish at the speed with which you choose.
I'm not one for haircuts. Never have been. Though I did get my hair cut regularly up until six or so years ago, I never really liked it. The whole process was a breach of the comfort zone, if you ask me. Too much of the hairdresser getting so close to you you can smell their breath, too much hair pulling with a comb, too much of the monotonous metallic snip snip snip of the scissors. No, not for me.There's too much risk with haircuts. Too much left to chance. When you go in to see the barber (or in the case of my school years, my mother, nine times out of ten—yeah, yeah, cheesy, I know, but it saved my family a fortune), you go in with this grand vision of what you want to look like when he/she is done and in your mind's eye, you can't think of a better way for you to reveal how truly good-looking you really are. What you're usually left with is a cheap version of what you envisioned and though the barber usually makes your new hairstyle work while at the shop, you can neve
It’s hilarious when you see people reading romance novels. Today I saw two women reading the same romance novel on the train. I thought to myself that it was actually pretty sad, but funny. I’m guessing they both wanted a threesome or polygamous arrangement with Fabio.

The different types of romance (subgenera) are as varied as the people who read romances. Even young adult romance has its place. These stories are light on intimacy, usually nothing heavier than a few kisses and holding hands. They deal with topics like problems with teachers, sports, bullying ...
i mean, it #039;s romance--a love story between two people! sure, there are some parts that hint love making (some explicit, some not), but it #039;s not like it #039;s erotica, right?!i almost got backhanded when i said, quot;don #039;t you and mom do it too?! quot;psi am not gay! i #039;m as straight as an arrow! and what #039;s wrong with being a guy and reading romance novels?! being a guy and reading romance novels does not make you gay! in fact, men should read more romance novels! most men, nowadays, don #039;t know a think or two about romance! all they want is sex! learn a thing or two about romance, for goodness sake, and learn how to treat a woman better!i am not talking about any specific book! i have a vast collection of romance! but, the book involved in the incident with my
