      Going Nostalgic
In my previous post, “A Real Long and Blessed Day, Part 2,”  I mentioned that there is going to be another photo essay of the day that was.  I believe this one photo deserves its very own post.  Alongside playing around with our camera’s settings, I was also reading through some counseling books when I [...]

Crofton Maryland - A Nostalgic Look Back
When Larry and I moved to Crofton, it was quite different than the Crofton you see today.  Houses looked a lot alike with builder-level landscaping, and those beautiful cherry trees along Crofton Parkway were still just an idea in the mind of Kay Callahan, the community activist responsible for their planting.  There was no Crofton [...]

Washington Square Park: Rewind the Memories (A Nostalgic Slideshow)
Washington Square Park, images from 2006-2007, before the current renovations. The fountain area you see here has since been torn up, and a new fountain, realigned in symmetry with the Arch and Fifth Avenue, is taking its place. Much of Washington Square Park is currently fenced off for the renovations, disappointing many visitors. I've been really missing the old place, so I've assembled some sea

      Nostalgic Shaan
      Q. Which songs are you enjoying most these days? A. Nothing particular, but a track from the film Love Story 2050 and the track of De Taali… by Sunidhi and KK. Both of them are really sounding nice.

Feeling Nostalgic? Why Not Head Out to the Drive-In?
Drive-in movie theaters have been a part of American culture for decades. According to driveintheater.com, the very first drive-in opened on June 6, 1933 in Camden, NJ. Other theaters quickly followed, and by the time the car culture of the 1950s hit the scene, the drive-in was nearly ubiquitous. During the 1950s, the drive-in became not [...]

      Abletonator Dj'ing goes nostalgic
This unusual digital music maker, or in common parlance, DJ console is shaped like one those good old, coin operated, video game arcades that you and me grew up with. A smart 19-inch LCD screen does the display duty in the Abletonator showing the DJ all the trick stuff. Coming to the most important part of them all, the sound, which is handled by a Terratec DMXb fire soundcard. The DJ console itself has a midi controller and to replace the keyboard, we have an array of joysticks and custom keys on the console. The PC that runs the now very famous, Ableton music mixing software is rack mounted with a 3Ghz AMD processor handling the processing duty. All your mixed tracks will sit in the 40Gb sata hard disk. Well, that is quite a bit of space for some thumping disco beats. And all this is a D

No, not Nostalgic as in an old screensaver, Nostalgic as in when you use this screensaver you will feel nostalgic because this screensaver shows your images in a way similar to how many documentaries and biographies show still images from a history or a person’s past something like the image below. By default it will [...]

      Waxing Nostalgic with the Boss
Every so often a tune, an image, a smell, etc. comes my way that instantly transports me to the past, to a time when life was simpler. Doesn't it seem that the older we get, the more crap we have to deal with, whether it be secure employment, the IRS, or tatterred relationships? Things have changed. When I was kid, I never saw presidential candidates on Nickelodian. I just remember cartoons!Everytime I hear this song, released on Bruce Springsteen's 2007 album, Magic, a wave of nostalgia washes over me, and everything seems alright, everything feels so much simpler; if only for a few minutes. I feel like I am my son's age; five. Here are a few things that I am reminded of:I think of my mother kneeling and praying, asking God to find a beautiful godly wife for her son...it worked!I think

South Africa: Travel Title On Nostalgic Trip
Afrikaans travel magazine Wegbreek has adopted a new payoff line and matt cover and pages. According to Wegbreek's editor, Gerrit Rautenbach, the new look was originally planned for January 2008, but the magazine's December 2007 issue is a nostalgic one and was the perfect vehicle for conveying the timelessness of its contents through the change in cover treatment and paper stock. The title has increasingly positioned itself as a lifestyle publication about travel, with the emphasis on the written word, allowing readers to savour the language. The new payoff line, "Reis sonde einde" (Journey without end), emphasises this point. The matt cover and paper also complement its mood and content and provide a more lasting feel to the magazine.

      Florida State’s Nostalgic Delta Gammas
I think we’re in for a real treat here folks. Let’s take a look at this picture for a second. Now tell me this shouldn’t be the 100% unequivocally number one choice for FSU’s Homepage. Instead it’s some putzy brown hair guy with a 4.0 GPA. Yay for you buddy! You know what I think of when I see this picture? The first day of school and the parents dropping their kids off. I’ll never forget when I was a sophomore and our fraternity put up a giant sign that said “SAE Welcomes Your Daughters!” Imagine being a father and seeing this group of girls standing at the gates to this school? A. You have to realize how hot they are and somehow hide that amazement from your wife and B. You have to realize that your daughter is that hot and pricks with “welcomes your daughters” signs are going to be fucking her. Yup ladies. Whatever position works. Not one, not a single one of these girls has a body that would qualify as les

Kauai & Lanai: Nostalgic plantation cottages
If your image of Hawaii includes waving fields of sugar cane and juicy pineapple plants, you’ll love staying in a historic plantation cottage. There aren’t too many of them left in the islands, but if you are adventurous enough to stay on the remote west side of Kauai or in quaint Lanai City, you can still vacation in vintage colonial style.

For the nostalgic of the Sixties
If you are one like me, a baby boomer, who lived her youth in the seventies, who was a fanatic feminist, who belonged to the ones burning their bras, who adored Twiggy and no breasted women, I guess you still cannot get used to the big breast spurting out of an outrageous décolleté, or no décolleté at all. You, like me , prefer the elegance of Audrey Hepburn to the vulgarity of many starlets with lips like Africans and breast like old fashioned South Italy women.I am one of those who loves classic dresses, with smart accessories and almost no make up.In a few words, I think that "class is not water" and breast must be the right size. So, if you have my tastes and a breast like Marilyn Monroe, may be you are looking for a place where they do exactly the opposite of what women do now:Beverly Hills breast reduction, where they can give you that touch of class that only a well proportioned breast can give to a woman. And if you look for a place with standards to your breast surgery, you c

      Feeling Nostalgic...
IN THE NEWS: According to World Magazine, "Usually an accidental injury during a Civil War reenactment would add an element of realism to the faux melee. But not in this battle. One man playing a Confederate solider in a reenactment of the Battle of Anderson County suffered a gunpowder wound and apparently needed stitches for a cut when he was hurt by a blank powder charge from the muzzle of a vintage weapon. Problem: No Confederate soldiers were injured in the May 1, 1865 battle."My friend--and fellow New Englander--Ed sent me this link, which I highly enjoyed. The hubby and I used to live about 14 miles north of Boston and while we only lived up there for a short time and do not live there now, we still consider ourselves Bostonians anyway.Enjoy.(PS.) We found 16, 46, 48, 65, 95 & 99 VERY funny.(A true Bostonian will know why.)

      Nostalgic Rasta Fashions
It is the Earth-day of the Rt. Hon.Robert Nesta Marley( aka Bob Marley) today, and ofcourse being that I'm a born Jamaican and a big fan, I've decided to focus a little on Rastafarian inspired fashion and styling. And if you ever get a chance to visit the Bob Marley Museum here in Kingston Jamaica, be sure to check out the clothing that both Bob and The I-Threes( Rita Marley, Marcia Griffith and Judy Mowat were some of the best dressed and stylist Rasta sisters around) used to wear!!!Now, you might know or might not know that one of Bob's children has a prestigious clothing line named after his first album, Catch a Fire. Her name is Cedella Marley and she also used to be apart of the group The Melody Makers with some of her brothers and sister. I remember when I was a little girl watching the music video and seeing them sing and dance how much i admired their clothes( which most times were sewn by them and thier mom). So it no wonder she decided to take the step and launch her own l
