My billiards buddy, Jerry Su, sent me a great read to check out. The post, which comes from The Chronicle Journal, highlights wheelchair billiards, specifically, focusing on Persons United for Self Help in Northwestern Ontario’s (PUSH Northwest) annual wheelchair pool tournament.
It is one interesting read! Truly, a very worthwhile endeavor! And I kid you not! Kudos to PUSH Northwest!

The awful would-be pastor, who may or may not still be friends with Barack Obama, has had his degree revoked by the president of his university (Hat tip: Ironic Surrealism):

Northwestern University double bass faculty member DaXun Zhang has accepted a position with the University of Texas-Austin beginning Fall 2007 and will be leaving his Northwestern teaching post. This is sad news for the double bass community in Chicago, but great news for DaXun's future career.Northwestern University has a long history of undervaluing their double bass faculty. This trend goes back to the days of legendary Chicago Symphony member and double bass pedagogue Warren Benfield, who left Northwestern University for DePaul University after frustrations with unresponsive faculty. This trend continued during Jeff Bradetich's years as double bass professor. Jeff built Northwestern into a powerhouse of double bass instruction in the 1980's and 90's, but he left for the University of North Texas in 1994 for reasons ultimately similar to Benfield's.For the next 11 years (1994-2005), Northwestern hired Chicago Symphony double bass section member Michael Hovnanian to teach do

Teams like USC can match that number with about half the players. The Wildcats went through a revolving door at QB last season as it tested out several young guns. Junior C.J. As you can see by Brewer's stats, the team wisely
For my employment law seminar at Evanston/Northwestern's Small Business Development Center (SBDC), I created a 6 page handout summarizing 44 federal and Illinois labor and employment laws small to medium sized businesses might encounter. The format of the handout is an MS Word table.
But, tables don't convert to Blogspot. Consequently, instead of spending hours trying to convert the handout to Blogspot's interface and posting it here, I've decided that if any readers are interested in obtaining either an MS Word or PDF version of the handout, I'll e-mail it to you.
So, if anyone would like a copy of this 6 page handout which summarizes 44 federal and Illinois labor and employment laws, I'd be glad to e-mail it you. Just e-mail me at (charlesakrugel@gmail.com) or post your request to my blog, and please specify whether you'd like a PDF or MS Word version (or both).
On Wednesday, February 22, 2006, from 6-8 P.M., I'll be giving an employment law seminar at Evanston-Northwestern University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC), at the ITEC (Illinois Technology Enterprise Center) Building, 1801 Maple, Evanston.
Due to co-sponsorship from the SBDC, the Illinois Technology Enterprise Center-Evanston and The Technology Innovation Center, the seminar is free.
Registration is via e-mail to Victoria Montes, the SBDC's Director, at
vmontes@evanstonsbdc.com
or via phone at 847-866-1817.
The seminar should largely be a "round-table" discussion, i.e., q&a. Instead of lecturing, I intend to answer questions and turn the seminar into a free flowing discussion of how employment law impacts whatever issues participants want to raise.
