Remember the Kia Kee Concept that made its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September? While on its way to California to make its North American debut at the LA Auto Show next week, the car dubbed the “new face of Kia” wriggled out of its cargo restraints and slammed nose first into the front wall of its transporter. Kia spokesman Alex Fedorak said the car has already been sent back to Italy, properly secured this time, and will not make it back for the LA Auto Show. The impromptu bit of rhinoplasty may have improved the Kee Concept’s face, which you might recall we weren’t particularly impressed with. Over the years, North American Ccmpany for Life and Health has moved in and out of the impaired risk spot light. Overall though, they would have to be judged as one of the better small companies out there.
North American isn’t one of the big boys, but they are still here after 120+ years and there is something to be said for not going away. Having said that, there is a pretty significant rumor milling around that Midland National and North American will be merging soon. Attached is a summary of ratings and stats on both companies.

It's been over a year since the last Pay Survey. Time to look at this information again and see how everyone is doing.Pay survey highlights and assumptions:-The annual salary figure is based on an 80 hour block month X 12 months = 960 hours/year for a Captain and First Officer with 12 years of service. Air Canada Position Pay Group data is not included in this survey.-Annual recurrent training pay is not included but it should be noted that most airlines do pay an additional 20 to 45 hours/year in training pay or pay credit. Air Canada is an exception and does not pay or credit its pilot’s for recurrent simulator or annual ground training.-The information sources I’ve used for the survey group similar equipment together. For example, Southwest Airlines doesn’t fly Airbus 320’s but they fly similar equipment. Therefore SWA’s Boeing 737’s are grouped with the Airbus 320. For this reason you will also see the Air Canada Boeing 777 and Airbus 340 Pilots grouped as similar wide
