I finally had an opportunity to watch Dreamgirls. If you have not seen it then I highly recommend that you watch and buy this fantastic movie. Not only did Jennifer Hudson give an Oscar worthy performance but so did Eddie Murphy. His performance was so good that I forgot that I was was looking at the actor/comedian that I have been watching since I first saw Eddie Murphy: Raw when I was in high school. To bad, in my opinion, that his stellar performance in Dreamgirls was killed by the ghastly portrayal of the man in the fat woman suit in Norbit.
Considering the timing in which Norbit came out I think that it had an influence on the voters for the Academy Award and cost Eddie the most coveted prize. His depiction of the star of the “chitlin” circuit in the deep south was fantastic. The fact that he was actually singing blew me away as well. We all remember his attempt at singing with “Party All the Time.” Though that song is lame it is still being played

Norbit the new movie from Eddie Murphy has topped the box office this weekend and has made around $33.7 million which when you look at the movie that cam in second Hannibal Rising, that had only done $13.35 million which shows you just how well Norbit had done
This movie sees Murphy playing 2 characters which fans seems to love just like he did in the nutty professor and one of my favourites Coming to America, the movie itself did not go down all that well with the film critics but it is the fans that are important and when they know that Murphy will play more than one character in a movie they just can not stop themselves from seeing it

The Norbit movie website has a "rib toss" game that is worth a couple of tries. The only thing you have to do is catch all the ribs in a bucket, if you dont catch them they "splat" all over the place! You can also have your fortune read by a very clever man in "Mr. Wong's Wrights," actually it wasnt very clever at all, but somewhat entertaining. "Ask Rasputia" is better than the fortune telling, ask her any question you want and she will give you a reply.
