My wife and I went on vacation last year to New York. Seeing Niagara Falls was certainly a highlight of the trip.
One interesting tidbit about Niagara Falls is that the first suspension bridge across the river was built with the aid of a kite. Kitelife.com describes the situation:

We had a great night tonight! We just played the longest acoustic set we've ever played and had a great time doing it. There were about two hundred people in the hard rock cafe right by the falls, and I can definately say that we " soft rocked" the hard rock" tonight . Bryce already filled you in on Vegas, we all made it out alive, and had a great time. So there was a casino literally right next door to our hotel, and since I didn't do to much gambling in Vegas this time and had most of the day off, I wandered over there with Bryce. It seemed completely harmless at the time........... Until we sat down with the dealer from hell. I've never seen a dealer get black jack seven consecutive times....... Until today. We just started laughing it was so ridiculous. We barely made it out of there with the clothes on our backs. After our grave defeat we went and shared a moment by the waterfall. There we were, watching the great Niagara Falls, and I have a six foot- four ,blond Canadian sobbi
Through the miracle of quantum photography this is a picture of the American and Horseshoe Falls 500 YEARS from now! Is there something not quite right about this picture? If you look carefully, there are no buildings in this photograph. I don't know what that means...........but it can't be good!Your humble scribe;Allan W Janssen

This is one travel destination for which we had been waiting for months together. History of Niagara falls -Niagara Falls are a set of massive waterfalls located on the Niagara River in eastern North America, on the border between Ontario, Canada and New York State. While not exceptionally high, Niagara Falls is very wide. With more than 6 million cubic feet (168,000 m³) of water falling over the crestline every minute in high flow, and almost 4 million cubic feet (110,000 m³) on average, it is the most powerful waterfall in North America. Niagara Falls is renowned both for its beauty and as a valuable source of hydroelectric power for Ontario and New York. Preserving this natural wonder from commercial over-development, while allowing for the needs of the area's people, has been a challenging project for environmental preservationists since the 1800s. A popular tourist site for over a century, the Falls are shared between the twin cities of Niagara Falls, Ontario and Niagara Fal

Niagara Falls, both the Canadian and the American side are perhaps one of the most beautiful places on earth and several renowned poets have been known to write some of their best works while sitting near the falls. This place attracts tourists from all parts of the world and a visit to the Niagara Falls for a romantic getaway is an excellent option. The 56 meters high American Falls are the higher of the two falls and looks stunning at night when it is illuminated by a profusion of colored lights. An amazing fact about the Niagara Falls is that the water of the river that is located at the base of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls is higher than the falls itself. Places Worth Visiting During Your Niagara Falls Romantic Getaway During your romantic getaway at Niagara Falls you can also visit the 100-acre Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens that houses perhaps the finest collection of trees and shrubs in Canada. The Falls formed after the receding of the glaciers of the most recent Ice Age, as water from the newly formed Great Lakes carved a path through the Niagara Escarpment enroute to the Atlantic Ocean. Today, it is virtually impossible for the Falls to freeze due to the installation of the ice boom. Click any of the photos for a larger version.

ePower Synergies Inc. is a “designer, developer, and manager of transportation systems for sustainable eCommunities.” The company would like to offer Niagra Falls tourists the chance to rent a ZENN Neighborhood Electric Vehicle. According to The Buffalo News, Brian M. Klumpp Jr., vice president of marketing and sales for ePower, thinks electric vehicle rentals would be "a great way to help attract people to this neck of the woods." Local Tourism Advisory Board member Debora Krieger pointed out that "Earth's Favorite Vehicle's" 35-mile range would leave ZENN drivers attempting to nip across the border into Canada stranded somewhere between Lewiston and Niagara Falls. What then? Ever the pragmatist, Mr. Klumpp Jr. said they'd tow 'em back.
