Re: New Road to Le Mans and beyond
The A28 is an excellent link road.. but don't tell too many people about it... we don't tell too many folks about it we don't want it getting over crowded!!!We use the road every trip and we are amazed at times that we can appear to be the only car on...

Re: New Road to Le Mans and beyond
Came back through Caen from the south in early March, the A88 reached nearly to Argentan with signs of progress on a by-pass .  The works by leclerc, Caen have settled and there's easier access to the fuel pumps, especially for those just off the ferry...

New cemetery off Minshull New Road...
To answer a couple of emails here's a recent snap of the new cemetery off Minshull New Road. I still hear people asking if it's a new road or a car park for something. They've been adding bits across the last seven or eight months and it does look very impressive. It was set to open around October time but there has been a problem sourcing the stone for the elegant wall planned for the front (that's the info I have been told). No idea if they're going to give it a special name..

Government launches new Road Safety Strategy
Sweeping license reforms are to be introduced immediatelyAn Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has officially launched the government's new road safety strategy, to cover the next six years. Most significant of the changes it brings in is a radical restructuring of the driver licensing system. From the end of the month, all new drivers will apply for a 'learner's permit' after they have passed their theory test. They will not be allowed sit a driving test until they have held this permit for at least six months (and presumably got plenty of practice in). Having passed the test, they will then hold a restricted license for a further two years and have to display 'R' plates on their car. There will also be no exception to the requirement that learner permit holders be accompanied at all times by a fully-licensed driver for the category of vehicle they're operating. Drivers on an 'L' or an 'R' plate will also have to clock up only six penalty points before they are put off the road - not t

      New road safety strategy announced
The new strategy has been developed by the RSANo real surprises in the government's latest road safety strategy, announced today. In short, it proposes mandatory alcohol testing for all drivers involved in accidents, a reduction in the blood/alcohol limit to 50mg/100ml, nationwide rollout of speed cameras and 'specific education programmes' for young male drivers as well as Ireland's 'diverse road user population.'My formula? Scrap the speed cameras, put more Garda Traffic Corps on the roads and reduce the alcohol limit to zero. The government are constantly telling people 'if you drink, don't drive,' so why are they unwilling to give it the force of law?

Adventure Travel In Peru - Trying Out A New Road
In my missionary work here in southern Peru, I sometimes help out some short-term teams that come from the U.S. On one of these occasions, I drove to near Oyolo, a village about five hours away from Cotahuasi where I live, to meet Pastor Eddie and his team from Florida. They were driving from Pausa and were supposed to be meeting me up on the high plain, about an hour before Oyolo, as they were going to be using the “new road” we had learned about when we were there a number of months before. New road..
I finally had a winning day today, albeit a small one as I only had one lay but I'll take it. I did the bet 2 hrs before the race as I decided to take the afternoon off and try and relax a little, and it felt good to not be sat staring at negative numbers for a while. Well the build up to Cheltenham is nearly over, shame I won't be able to watch any of it though! Looking forward to hearing the commentaries though and getting stuck into some horses. I read that Coolmore have decided to replace George Washington with Holy Roman Emporer, a very business related move no doubt and a blow to Aiden's team this year. Anyway, I'm off the losing train for now and hopefully things progress from here on in, there's a fair bit of work to do to catch up the losses so far. I'll make a post in the next few days which should be a little more interesting than just my moaning about losing. It seems people are not so fond of reading about my woes as the visiting levels have really dropped off as of
