      Sherrard Falls, New South Wales
Click for a 648kb snapshotWaterfall Way in the Dorrigo Mountains in New South Wales was a real eye opener for me because I have never seen a rain forest before. It was like being in a different country and now fully understand how diverse Australia is with its landscape and I have so much more to experience, as this is only early days with more traveling yet as time permits. With Malcolm's uncle and aunt as tour guides we had lunch at the Sherrard Falls, that rushes underneath the road with a constant roar. It is a magical place with winding roads with sheer drops that were mostly covered with dense tall straight trees, shrubbery and the most beautiful ferns that I have ever seen. As I don't like heights that might have been just as well that I couldn't always see the drop beside the road although I did have the attitude that this opportunity to see a glorious area such as Waterfall Way, my fear of heights was kept firmly to the back of my mind. Um though there is another time later

      Wollomombi Falls, New South Wales
Click for free 626kb Wollomombi Falls snapshotIn the local Aboriginal dialect “Wollomombi’ comes from the word ‘Wollumbi’, which means “meeting of the waters”. The Wollomombi and Chandler rivers meet at this gorge. The Wollomombi Falls is one of Australia’s highest waterfalls with a drop of 260 metres. I would love to see these falls at their peak flowing time, as I believe it would have to be magnificent to see. The waters of the falls heads South, joining the Macleay river on its journey to the Pacific Ocean at South West Rocks.Click for free 679kb Wollomombi Falls path snapshotThe photo of the path leading to the falls fascinated me with the moss and lichen growing over moist areas that the mist from the falls created.Quick links:Free Subscription to SnapShots by EmailNew South Wales Wollomombi Falls snapshots free Aboriginal dialect

      Copeton Dam, New South Wales
Click and steal a 446kb snapshotThe main reason for our trip interstate was to visit Malcolm's uncle and aunty. For the next few days we did just that although in no way did we stay idle. People that have lived in a region for a large number of years make the best guides to show their visitors what is on offer. Copeton Dam was one of these places that we visited while staying with our wonderful hosts and both Malcolm and I thank you for your hospitality and what you did for us.Although Copeton Dam is extremely low with what capacity it will hold, it was a pleasure to see. I stitched two photos together to help show of this little oasis. One day I would like to see this area full to capacity with water.I am going to organise another photo yet of this dam so stay tuned for it.Quick links:Free Subscription to SnapShots by Email technorati tags: image, photo, landscape, snapshots, copeton dam
