      A New Perspective on Pajamas
The other week Princess’s day care had Pajama Day. This is a fun day for the kids and teachers where they go to school dressed in their PJs. We parents also love this day because it means less time to get out the door in the morning. Later that evening we had to [...]

How to Choose Technology - A New Perspective
I was flattered to be interviewed this past week by Renee Oricchio for Inc. Magazines Online Edition regarding how a small business should choose and buy technology. I don’t know when the article will appear but one point I made in the interview I thought I would write about here on Small Business CEO. So what is this new perspective, I am suggesting these days that before buying technology that small businesses take a closer look at the processes they do to operate their companies. Why you ask? Because technologies should support the processes you do. They should improve the processes, make them more effective and efficient. Having worked in technology for 3 decades now I know how hard the tech companies work to get you to use the latest technology and that you have to buy it now. Of course we all follow suit and spend the money. We don’t take time to understand the RO in ROI and most of that RO comes in the form of process improvement. Something as simple as an online f

      A new perspective!
Here a piece by our friend Slavik Mike that brings a rather innovative and very interesting perspective to the Middle East conflicts and how to solve them. Enjoy, and thank you Mike! So for your consideration, an epiphany on the whole matter: I've grown tired and ultimately no longer interested in playing out the status quo blogosphere tit-for-tat right vs. left comment battle. I say "right" to refer to March 14th and the broader population that actually thinks a secular peaceful Middle East (ME) composed of law abiding nation states is a great idea. I say "left" to refer to those others that like the concept of people being free of oppressive governments, but find themselves caught on the backs of their heels forced to defend the actions of their tyrannical governments and foreign interlocutors as a way of standing up to what they view as Western imperialism that seeks to wipe out their culture and heritage. If I've proscribed the wrong labels, I apologize, I'm

      Globalization: A New Perspective
I am a fortunate soul to receive lectures from some amazing people. We have these lectures called Forrestals where we hear some great people talk about things that should concern us as future military officers. Our most recent lecture was this Monday by Thomas L. Friedman, a Foreign Affairs columnist for the New York Times and the author of the bestselling books From Beirut to Jerusalem and The Lexus and the Olive Tree. He is an amazing visionary and his talk concerned his most recent bestselling title The World is Flat. The primary focus of the book is globalization and how it is no longer what it used to be. He uses history to define three specific eras of globalization. When exploration of the new world began in the late 1400s, globalization was brought about by countries. Then with the industrial revolution in Europe, the United States and Russia things began to change and the primary initiator of globalization became companies. He says that "as you slept" the world change and we ev
