Vintage Bin: New Order, “Bizarre Love Triangle”
"Bizarre Love Triangle" is by no means immune to being played out; internationally, it's undoubtedly part of a few thousand DJ mixes per night. But since we can't stop listening to Cut Copy's In Ghost Colours, a record that reminds us of New Order during this period among a few other things, why shouldn't we go back and dig this jam?

Wesnoth campaign: "A New Order" mirror
I've been trying to download "A New Order"add-on/campaign for Battle for Wesnoth. I expect that this campaign is cool to play because it's size is bigger than other campaign.I spent almost 6 hours to download this campaign. Not because it's size is huge, it is only 10MB, but because the campaign server always cut my connection in the middle of downloading.Yes, I've tried both downloading from game interface and web interface, yet both always failed too many times. Finally I managed to download it using one of Rapidleech link I found. And that's consumed almost 30 minutes to update. I think Wesnoth campaign server should have more mirrors! So, I managed to download it and I wanna share with you, Wesnoth lovers. I've upload it in Sharedzilla for your convenience. Here's the link: Wesnoth campa

      NEW ORDER
TEMPTATION(ORIGINAL 7" VERSION)(ORIGINAL 12" VERSION)('87 SUBSTANCE VERSION)('98 REMIX)(SECRET MACHINES MIX)Temptation was released as a single by New Order in 1982. It was available on 12" and 7" vinyl, both formats had the catalogue number FAC 63. The two formats are not merely different mixes, but entirely separate recordings of the same song. The 7" version is a more structured version with a commercial synthpop feel; the 12" is more chaotic with the emphasis on electronic rhythms rather than melody. The 7" version plays at 33.3rpm to accommodate its length of around five and a half minutes.Interestingly, the 12" version has a fade-in at its start, with a cold end, and the 7" version has a cold start and a fade-out at its end. As a result, a popular rumour among New Order fans that to

Clone Watch: New Order 66 Target Two Packs
Last year’s Target exclusive Order 66 two packs must have gone over pretty well with Target, because it’s been recently confirmed that they’re ready to have another go around of the things. I know I bought three or four of them without really meaning too, the damn clones were too tempting! The rumor that there would be more clone two packs started a week or so ago with Jedi Defender having a big update on it that even included a list of figures that we might see. New Order "Blue Monday"

      New Order - Substance
It's a simple concept--the first dozen singles by New Order collected, a couple of them rerecorded--but it's also a totally entertaining seven-year history of the band that married British post-punk alienation to the relentless hedonism of the dance floor. The band's hits were always deeply unconventional (like the haunting "Blue Monday," essentially a seven-minute drum machine test with a short lyric that alluded to the Falklands War), but they were brilliant productions, layering dozens of electronic countermelodies and percussion tricks over Barney Sumner's uncertain warble and Peter Hook's lead bass parts. Though they're audio snapshots of the dance beats of their time, they've held up both as club classics and as idiosyncratic rock songs.

A new order for the Aetas of Subic
Despite being stereotyped as people with no exposure to the present world, the Aetas of Subic are just as modern as the rest of us while retaining their traditions and beliefs. We are talking about a community that remained intact after all these years of shakeups in their own little world. Yes, they may still have that distinct culture about them, but that does not mean that they never thrived on disruptions and modifications, both natural and man-made. Consider their own reputation as highly mobile people. Their intimate knowledge of forests and wilderness made them unequaled authorities in jungle survival and techniques. All these years they kept their skills alive. In fact, they served as instructors to the American soldiers who consulted them on jungle life. The Aetas taught them how to build fire, cook, build shelters, and trap animals using forest materials only. Up to now, they are still called upon to serve as forest rangers and guides within Subic. Nowadays, there are

'Broken Up' New Order Not Breaking Up?

Well, our dispatch called this morning to give us a heads-up that the Southern California Coordination Center (South Zone) was inquiring about our availability. She said that an order should be coming for us for out of region (Oregon, Montana or Idaho). So it looks like we be on the road here shortly.

While there are a couple of re-recordings of earlier singles, most of Substance consists of 12" single mixes designed for danceclub play. Arguably, these 12" mixes represent New Order's most groundbreaking and successful work, since they expanded the notion of what a rock & roll band, particularly an indie rock band, could do. Substa

Movement (1981) 01 - Dreams Never End02 - Truth03 - Senses04 - Chosen Time05 - ICB06 - The Him07 - Doubts Even Here08 - Denial link Movement is the sound of New Order searching for their own musical path after the suicide of Ian Curtis signaled the end of Joy Division. The album paints an extremely vivid picture that the band was struggling to find their own identity. The ghost of Ian Curtis hangs over each song like decaying bark. For starters, Bernard Sumner affects such a deep croon that it could be seen as an attempt to mimic the sad and somber vocal style of Curtis. When his vocals aren't deep enough, producer Martin Hannett steps in with a sound processor, and one is left with the unsettling notion that the band is treading on ground that almost smells of exploitation. Movement's music is strangely non-energized. The sound experimentation of Joy Division, much of it courtesy of Hannett, is everywhere. Tribal beats mar much of the album, as t

      New Order - Love Vigilantes
"I want to see/My family/My wife and child/Waiting for me/I've got to go home/I've been so alone you see." After the suicide of their lead singer and songwriter, Ian Curtis , the remaining three musicians Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, and Morris knew that life would go on. So they decided to border new hooks and a new name to their music, it was New Order. And this was the song from Low-life (1985) [[ This is a content summary only. R.I.P. New Order
In general, when rumors swirl for the better part of a year that a band is breaking up -- no matter how many times they deny them -- it's safe to say they're all but six feet under. I'd say a 27-year run is pretty good for a band, though.
