Litrospheres is a self-luminous micro particles invented by MPK Co. This new light source can lasts 12 years without a single recharge from electricity or sun exposure. Litroenergy, the technology behind Litrospheres, has potential to save billions of dollars in energy costs world-wide. It surpasses all known available lighting options for cost/durability/reliability and safety.GlowPaint glow-in-t

Getting to know Aceh is like peeling an onion, an Acehnese once said as a matter of fact.
“There are so many layers — peeling off one layer after another is a tearful experience.”
In the long course of this country’s history, Aceh, which is rich in natural resources, [...]

`And the time came when the risk to remain in bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” Anin
Learning to access the freedom that is in `The Creative Spirit’ is about allowing ourselves to blossom by taking risks.
There is always the safe known path, but to tread that way does not lead to new summits.
We need to be constantly peeling away the layers of our being to find the next layer beneath.
To let go of preconceptions and judgement and be open to the fresh streams of existence that lie within each of our hearts.
As we start to remove these layers a new fresh stream of spirit starts to surge through us and our work starts to come alive, our colors becomes fresher, our voices start to quiver with real notes.
Any rigidity and fear that we allow to permeate our being will be reflected in deadened creative work.
Only by themselves becoming vehicles of a new way and light will artists add to our world and make it into a place where all can sing and dance a new joyou
Here is another article on using focused
beams of light to stimulate neurons from Howard Hughes Medical
Institute.
The illustration, which comes from a painting by
Duke University student Yifan Xu, conceptually illustrates a beam
of light shining into the olfactory bulb activating a mitral cell.
HHMI investigator Michael Ehlers and colleagues report they have
developed mice that express channelrhodopsin-2, a light-gated
cation channel from the green algae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, in
neurons of the central nervous system. This enables researchers to
trigger neural activity with high spatial and temporal
precision—a powerful tool for those striving to map
functional circuits in the brain.
Researchers have devised a clever way to
activate neurons in a living mouse by shining light on the surface
of the animal's brain. The “light switch” that turns
neurons on is actually a light-sensitive protein that is produced
by algae. When this protein is genetically

Pinback's Rob Crow is spending more time at home these days. Pinback's Rob Crow has just released an exceptional solo album that you should probably know about. I was impressed by a handful of the tracks on first listen. Crow has shown some serious progress with these songs. The music is more paced and mature. The sounds are well-produced and even. The promotion material I received from Advanced Media indicates that many believe these gains to be because Rob is spending more time at home with his newborn son. No matter the reason for the progress, this album is a serious step in the right direction and cause for celebration.Initially, some of the tracks sounded a little forced but that was likely due to my knee-jerk expectations for what a musician from Pinback might sound like as a solo artist. With an additional listen, the tracks found a comfortable home within the landscape of my current music playlist. The slow, deliberate song structures (punctuated by bits of silence between
