As results from Zimbabwe's parliamentary election are confirmed, it increasingly appears like President Robert Mugabe will have to resort to force in order to retain power. Results of the presidential vote have still not been released and the leader of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), Morgan Tsvangirai, has fled the country. Tsvangirai is currently attempting to convince African leaders to pressure Mugabe into stepping down.Meanwhile, political violence has escalated. The BBC reports that 215 people "suspected of involvement in political violence" have been arrested, while the MDC claims those detained were "taking refuge from attacks by ruling party activists" and included "pregnant women and men with broken bones." Let me ‘axe’ you this, dear reader. When you clicked on my page, did you see a sign above my head that read “Ask me where to score skunky buds?” Do I look the like the nigga with the hook-up? I can barely leave the house these days without a greasy hippie, boy-racer or wannabe G-Banger approaching me to ask “Hey, bro! You know where I can score some stinky buds, ow?” Unusual as it may sound, I’m thinking it might be something to do with my eyelids. If you look closely at a photo of my ugly mug, you might notice that my eyelids droop and sag worse than Anna-Nicole’s piss-flaps (pre or post-mortem, take your pick… it doesn’t make too much difference). The medication I’m on makes me pretty photosensitive too, so I’ve usually got ‘em dangling limply at half-mast. You might be able to tell just by looking at my photo that light is not my friend. E' uscito all'inizio di settembre in UK il nuovo album dei londinesi Athlete dal titolo "Beyond The Neighbourhood". Undici nuove canzoni che segnano un ulteriore passo avanti nel percorso musicale del gruppo. E' un lavoro molto interessante, più sperimentale e riflessivo, con un suono organico e ricercato. L'indie rock va a braccetto con l'elettronica sapientemente usata, ma strizza anche l'occhio al pop, senza esagerare. Il risultato è eccellente. Nella voce del cantante c'è insita una certa malinconia, anche quando la melodia al contorno o comunque il messaggio sono positivi. Ma questa non è affatto una nota negativa, anzi forse proprio in un contesto simile la voce di Joel Pott lavora ancora meglio. How many times have you been reminded of this adage? Presumably, the cheaper homes will somehow drag down the higher priced home. Or, cheaper homes have more room to catch up. When you think about it, expensive homes are expensive with good reasons. Perhaps they are situated on more desirable lots or constructed with marble stones.
