Just a story I thought about today I thought I would share. Perhaps it is about how media affects us. Perhaps it is how threads weave through our lives, bringing together a rich tapestry we cannot fully see. What gives with all this crap? Why are these young teachers running off with students and getting knocked up or whatever? And most importantly, how are they getting into the school system?I just read that the boy she ran off with was a 13 year-old illegal immigrant. That is really going to get the Obama camp in an uproar; and because this kid was an illegal, that means the media and any libs with public status will portray this as a love story with a tragic ending.I can see Michael Moore doing a documentary when this teacher gets out of prison. He will locate the boy when he becomes an adult. Then he will find this teacher. An initiative is brewing in California to change the way that California's electoral college votes are allocated. If the initiative qualifies for the ballot, and passes with a sufficient margin in the state's June 2008 election, California would award two of its electoral votes to the at-large winner of the state in the general election, and then split 53 of its 55 electoral votes based on how each House district within the state votes. The Nebraska Sports Council has a three-month team wellness program called N-Lighten Nebraska, which was started in 2003. The objective of this program is to promote more physical activity and weight loss for its participants. There’s an entry fee of $15 per person and for those who will be entering this program online will only be paying $13. The criteria for judging of which team will win will depend on the following: 1. Weight Loss Each member of the team submits an “honor” weight to the team captain. Captains total the team weight, complete the team entry form and submit it by Feb. 1. “Honor” weigh-ins will be repeated in March 15 (midway point) and May (final). Winning teams are those that lose the highest percentage of weight over the three-month program. 2. Yesterday morning, bright and early at 6:30 a.m., Snuggle Bug and I hopped on a plane to fly to Nebraska. We flew back to attend my 14 year old nephew's confirmation (I'm his Godmother) and we're staying for 6 days. Hooray!For the first time ever, we had to pay for Snuggle Bug to have his own seat. Now that he's two, we can no longer take him on free as a lap child.I'm actually kind of glad that he had his own seat. I had my own space and he had his, which was nice.Snuggle Bug had his nose pressed to the window to watch the planes and luggage carts before take-off. He loved take-off and he did just fine with the landings. He slept for part of the flight too. He's such a good little traveler. The only struggles I had was when it came time to make him sit down and put a seat belt on. He protested but I still got my way. So, this may be a silly picture, but I had to take it. Eau Claire has added LHP Wes Simmons and C Dominic Piazza from the University of Nebraska. Dominic was drafted in the 49th round by the Diamondbacks in last years draft. Wes redshirted last year with an injury. Here is a case of a solution trying to find a problem. Nebraska State Sen. Lowen Kruse has introduced a bill to close loopholes in state laws that allow minors to consume alcohol. Wine served as part of holy communion religious ceremonies is one of the targets.Sen. Kruse's bill would make it illegal to allow minors to drink alcohol in their own homes or at churches during services. Catholics and several other Christian churches use wine as part of observances to replicate Christ's words at the Last Supper. The church groups are protesting the measure as a potential violation of religious rights. Sen. Kruse has said that, while the wording of the law would ban all alcohol consumption by minors in churches, he did not believe anyone would be brought up on charges if teens consumed wine as part of the rituals during a mass. Yes, most of my side of the family lives in Nebraska and this is where we're currently at for the Thanksgiving holiday!Traveling to get here was time consuming, but thankfully there were no delays, our luggage was waiting for us, and Snuggle Bug was a fantastic little traveler! He played, slept twice on the 2 flights we took, and had a wonderful time watching all the planes take-off during our 3 hour layover.Being home with my family has been fantastic thus far! The weather is mild for this time of the year. Snuggle Bug is right now playing with 5 of his 6 cousins. My older sister's house is a tangled jungle of toys strewn all about the house, but the kids are having a blast! Thankfully, Snuggle Bug has shown no signs of shyness around his aunts, uncles, and cousins thus far. He just gets in there and plays with the best of them. I'm getting some cute pictures which I'll try to post later.Tomorrow our entire family is getting together for a huge Thanksgiving feast. I can't wait! O

To ignore this reality is to risk being trapped by false choices....false choices such as the question, "which is worse - Iran with nuclear weapons or war with Iran?"...On Afghanistan, the United States and Iran found common interests - defeating the Taliban and Islamic radicals, stabilizing Afghanistan, stopping the opium production and flow of opium coming into Iran. From these common interests emerged common actions working toward a common purpose. It was in the interests of Iran to work w
