NAME (MENC) National Association Of Music Educator’s Website Receives Facelift
If you have not been to the NAME’s (When are we going to start using the NAME abbreviation, instead of MENC, more?) website for a while you will notice that they received a substantial upgrade to the look of their site.  Although it has taken me awhile to find everything I used before at their site, I think you’ll agree with me that the upgrade is an improvement. Chief among the facelifts is, finally, the addition of two NEEDED and easy to access RSS Feeds embedded within their front page (Now it’s up to us to get everyone to know how to use them!): MENC News: Events:   They have also added some relevant adds to the left sidebar and created a Newsblog “look” to the front page.  It is a little tricky to find the forums and mentor pages, but I’ll tell you ho

National Association of Realtors- Housing to Stabilize
The National Association of Realtors announced today that the housing market is on the verge of stabilizing and forecasts bright times aheadBucking conventional wisdom, a trade group for real estate agents on Monday said the battered housing market is on the verge of stabilizing and inched up its outlook for 2007 and 2008 home sales. The revised monthly forecast from the National Association of Realtors, which followed nine straight months of downward revisions, calls for U.S. existing home sales to fall 12.5 percent this year to 5.67 million — the lowest level since 2002. Last month, the association predicted 5.66 million existing homes would be sold this year. The Realtors' group also forecast sales will rise slightly in 2008 to 5.7 million, up from last month's prediction of 5.69 million.Numerous other economists, however, are far less optimistic than the trade group. They predict weak sales and falling prices through next year and beyond and emphasize that those problems could wo

National Association of Realtors details 10 Year Plan
NAR’s CEO Dale Stinton was recently interviewed by Inman TV and had some interesting points on NAR’s future and what that would entail for both Realtors (Trusted Advisers) and consumers. Areas covered included: Articulating the Realtors Value Technology changed perception Role for NAR Is NAR the right choice for Realtors Realtor of the future An area of hot dispute regarding NAR’s future itself has to do with what Dale refers to as “NAR’s 10 year plan.” Many Technology advocates involved in current Web 2.0 technology and social networks, believe that NAR needs to seriously think about opening up access to it’s systems similar to Face-Book, to allow faster adoption of new technologies and better communications with consumers. Brian Boero over at the 1000Watt Blog I think says it best - “what if NAR ceased conjuring a fantastical “gateway” that will take years to build and created a series of APIs — children of RETS,

      National Association of Realtors Forecast
The summer has been tough – historically high temperatures in many parts of the country, Midwest floods, and almost everywhere major airline flight delays. Housing didn’t have such a great summer either, with home sales and price appreciation still waiting to recover. The subprime mortgage mess didn’t help either. So everyone wants to know: now that the summer is over, when can we expect the housing sector to get back to normal? There’s actually a sequence of events we should look for that need to happen before housing is back on track, and as each of these occurs, the closer the housing recovery will be. Let’s take a look at them. Mortgage Rates Will Stablize Favorably Despite the headline news coverage of turmoil in the mortgage market, mortgage rates have actually been falling for borrowers who take out prime conforming loans. Because these borrowers account for the majority of home buyers, affordability conditions for most buyers have improved. FHA loans – the traditi

Real estate agents across India have come together to form a national association
“There is a lot of discrepancy in the real estate business” because of the way agents function, said Farook Mahmood, founder president of NARI and managing director of Bangalore-based Silverline Realty. “We hope to evolve a uniform code of ethics for the members and also have provisions for punitive actions.” An integral part of the new body is the certification course.

National Association of Realtors Market Report Jan '07
So here's the thing. The latest report came out yesterday from the National Association of Realtors. I am providing a link here to this report if you are interested. I have found the first two months of 2007 to be a strong market, having lots of inventory throughout Westchester County at what I would consider to be good and adjusted prices. According to the NAR report:"the median existing home price in the Northeast was down 1.2% from a year earlier....."Does this mean that seller's are getting a bit more real in their asking prices? I believe so. Sellers read the papers and reports as we all do and understand that the market has adjusted. Buyers understand that prices have adjusted as well, it is not possible to predict further adjustments and we all have to live somewhere. Now is a wonderful time to buy. Low rates, high inventory and good prices! To read the entire report - click here.
