I was just wondering why some kids have funny names. One theory I can think behind this logic is that may be, just maybe - the parents knew that child would bring them grief so this was a way to get back at him.I can only imagine the father / mother going on with a smirk on their face - they were able to pre-determine that baby's name and be the source of all the ridicules during the baby's school years and perhaps if they are lucky even after! No matter what the kid does to bring hell to them - they know the name that they have given him will torment him even more.... ;-)Have you ever had the opportunity of naming someone? Activities of add/update/delete to a section of disk would invariable cause it to fragment. So there is no permanent solution as we can not avoid these acts. As such it is a good idea to use disk defragmenter regularly. Contiguous data which results from defragmenting disk, improves system performance considerably. But what I am suggesting you here would prolong intervals between defragmentations resulting in more time for your own productive work. OK! This tip is for those folks would never be using a DOS based program or don't care for connection from DOS based operating systems (example: old games and all things before windows 95). Use Compared to ABAP, Java has fewer restrictions regarding names for labels (for example, for classes or data types). This documentation deals with cases where proxy generation cannot copy names without making adjustments. Features The length of labels in Java is practically unlimited and they are case-sensitive. The technical names of the generated Java proxy classes are based on the JAX RPC specification: · Namespaces are mapped to packages. · Classes for interfaces have the suffix _PortType. · Classes for data types have the suffix _Type. The suffixes correspond to the element names from the imported WSDL document and help to avoid naming collisions. For this reason, naming conflicts are very unlikely. If a naming collision occurs, proxy generation ter
Use The different naming conventions in XSD and ABAP have the following consequences for naming in proxy generation. In addition, the length of names of interfaces, messages types, and data types is unlimited in the Integration Repository. Also, unlike ABAP, the system differentiates between upper case and lower case text; this is normally used to distinguish between words within a name (for example: FlightBooking). Features Standard Procedure · When the text switches from lower to uppercase, the generation function inserts an underscore to make the change more clear (for example: FLIGHT_BOOKING). · The system shortens names that are longer than 30 characters. · If a naming conflict occurs, the generation function appends a number to the new name to enable y

"Naming a Restroom After Yourself"by Michael Aaron GallagherWhen I heard this next marketing story, I knew I had to comment about it. I was watching The Ivory Tower Half Hour (you can view episodes online at WCNY.org), a political and current events commentary show, which features a panel of university professors from area colleges across Central New York. They discussed the recent University of Colorado decision to allow the naming rights to be sold for a Men's restroom for a $25,000 investment. Now I am not sure which is more amusing, the idea that just about anything can be used to promote an idea, or the actual idea the investor Brad Feld wanted to promote. According to the Associated Press (Denver Post) the plaque reads, "The best ideas often come at inconvenient times. Don't ever clos

These are the industry-accepted standard naming conventions for J#, C# and VB.NET programs. For additional information, please see the MSDN help documentation and FX Cop. While individual naming conventions at organizations may vary (Microsoft only suggests conventions for public and protected items), the list below is quickly becoming the de-facto standard in the industry. Please note the absence of Hungarian Notation except in visual controls. These naming standards should find their way into all of your .NET development, including ASP.NET Web applications and .NET Windows Forms applications.Note that while this document predates the online and printed standards documentation from Microsoft, everything below which indicates it is based on .NET library standards is consistent with that do
The Naming GameBy: Jack RussellIf “fashionistas” are obsessed with brand names, dog lovers are hooked on dog breeds. This is because purebred dogs are expensive and belong to the high-level of this particular species. Generally, dog breeds were incorporated to give distinctive characteristics to certain classifications, thus, resulting to a substantial number of varieties. However, people who breed dogs often find it hard to detect the specific characteristic of the resulting species. There are times that off springs appear to be different from their “parents.” In dog breeding, experts contend that the off springs should have the same characteristics as their parents, both physical attributes and behavior. For example, a breeding pair of Retrievers should produce the black puppies

There's a post I did quite early on, about naming your child after countries.I've decided to follow on, and do a "naming after..." series.A lot of people think choosing a random thing to name your child after is wrong, stupid or tacky. Personally, I'm not saying its either right or wrong, but it's certainly very interesting. Any name can be okay, as long as your sensible in choosing in it.This post is going to be about naming your child after colors, some color names, such as Scarlet(t), are becoming quite popular, so this may be a popular path in the future. I think that using a color as a middle name is pretty neat, especially if it has special meaning, for example, an elder siblings favorite color, or if a child has blonde hair, a name with a meaning of 'yellow' or 'golden' can be sweet
Three explorers were hiking through a vast forest that would eventually become Canada.
“You know,” said the first explorer, “we should name this vast forest we’re hiking through.”
“I know,” said the second explorer. “We’ll each pick a letter and then make a name out of that.”
“Good idea,” said the third explorer. “You go first.”
“Okay,” said the first explorer. “C, ay.”
“My turn,” said the second explorer. “N, ay.”
Unfortunately, before the third explorer could choose a letter, a bear jumped out of the trees and killed and ate all three explorers. Eventually, some guy came along and named the country after his aunt.
We’ve got a little more than six and a half weeks to figure out exactly what this baby boy is called, and quite frankly, I’m stumped.
It pains me, because I have a list of girls’ names as long as my arm, but I’m simply running out of good choices for boys. Not to say that we don’t have at least a few contenders: I like Lucas, and Henry, and Myles, and Jack. I think my first choice might have been Jasper, but both Beloved and my mother laughed out loud when I suggested it. I love the name Justin, but it sounds way too much like Tristan. Papa Lou is lobbying hard for Max. I’m fond of Benjamin, but that happens to be the name of the mean-as-a-snake cat we had who died last summer. I’ve taken a recent liking to Charlie as well, and Quinn has a quiet strength that fits in nicely with Tristan and Simon.
There’s no lack of tools out there on the Interwebs to help you narrow down the choices. The US Social Security Administration releases

Here is one of the many historic markers in and around the Dothan area. This one is located next to the Wiregrass Museum of Art, on Museum Street, just behind the Dothan Civic Center.
Most of the historic markers you see around the Dothan area are erected by the Historic Chattahoochee Commission.
Side 1 reads as follows
Near the location of Poplar Head Park (200 feet west of this marker) was once a large spring surrounded by poplar trees. Two well-beaten trails crossed near the spring and the area was often used as a camping and resting place for Native Americans and early settlers. In the early 1800’s William Cawthon, from Georgia, built a corral for his cattle near the spring and the area first became known as “Cawthon’s Cowpen.” Later, several families built log cabins nearby and dubbed the little settlement “Poplar Head” due to poplar trees an
A former student sent me an mp3 file of a rendition of UP Naming Mahal, the university hymn of the University of the Philippines (UP), by progressive artists Noel Cabangon (formerly of Buklod), Cooky Chua (former lead singer of Color It Read), Chikoy Pura (lead singer of The Jerks), Gary Granada and Bayang Barrios (formerly of Joey Ayala at Ang Bagong Lumad). The new version, apparently unofficial, has new lyrics, making the hymn even more socially relevant.
For those who don’t know the history of the UP hymn, the melody was composed by Nicanor Abelardo based on a poem in English by Teogenes Veles titled “U.P. Beloved.” The latter was translated into Filipino by Hilario Rubion and Tomas Aguirre.

Jordan (real name Katie Price) gave birth to her first daughter Princess Tiaamii on the 29th June. Many have criticised her choice of name.
Jordan said the first name was chosen because the girl was “our princess”.
Husband Peter Andre came up with the middle name by combining his mother’s name, Thea, with Jordan’s mother’s name, Amy.
“We’ve put an accent over the first A to make it more exotic and two Is at the end just to make it look a bit different,” Jordan told OK! magazine.
Jordan also considered calling her daughter Tinkerbell but later rejected the idea as too many celebrities have chosen it as the name for thier dog. Personally I wouldn’t like a daughter with the same name as Paris Hilton’s pooches, but I wouldn’t have considered it in the first place.
Jordan also said “I’m going to get a tattoo on the back of my neck with a crown and ‘Princess’ underneath.” Classy!

(DEBKAFile) The threat was picked up by DEBKAfile’s monitors from a rush of electronic chatter on al Qaeda sites Thursday, Aug. 8. The al Qaeda communications accuse the Americans of the grave error of failing to take seriously the videotape released by the American al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gaddahn last week. “They will soon realize their mistake when American cities are hit by quality operations,” said one message. Another said the attacks would be carried out “by means of trucks loaded with radio-active material against America’s biggest city and financial nerve center.” A third message mentioned New York, Los Angeles and Miami as targets. It drew the answer: “The attack, with Allah’s help, will cause an economic meltdown, many dead, and a financial crisis on a scale that compels the United States to pull its military forces out of many parts of the world, including Iraq, for lack of any other way of cutting down costs.” There is also a message which speaks obliqu

Chrysler’s new owner, Cereberus Capital Management named Robert Nardelli (yes, Bob Nardelli) as the company’s new CEO. For those of you found the name familiar, yes it is the same Nardelli who in January was pushed out of Home Depot amid shareholder outrage over his $210-million pay. So when you see his name again as CEO, especially at Chrysler, it would seem like an absurd move. Why add salt to an already bleeding wound?
Maybe Nardelli isn’t the worst pick in this case; as a matter of fact, he might handle this post well beyond expectations. The reasons for Nardelli’s tarnished image would no longer be present in working for a private company:
Nardelli wasn’t a real stock price mover - Home Depot’s remained stagnant over his six-year tenure. This won’t be a problem anymore, considering the company’s gone private.
Nardelli was weakest in dealing with regular folks (Home Depot’s store managers). Okay, so how will he deal with labour
