      Namco anuncia Tales of Vesperia

Namco Bandai: Guncon 3 NOT sold separately - SendMeRSS
Namco Bandai: Guncon 3 NOT sold separatelyFiled under: Peripherals How much do you like Time Crisis 4? Is it the kind of game you'd spend $180 on? Well, that's what Namco Bandai is asking from players that want to play the game with two players. The Guncon 3 peripheral does not come separately, and will not come separately from the game, effectively forcing fans to purchase two copies of the game. The Consumerist contacted Namco Bandai's live support and got this response: "I'm sorry, but the Guncon 3 is not sold separately. It is only sold bundled with Time Crisis 4 ... If you wish to play two players using two Guncon 3s then you will need another copy of Time Crisis 4."Strangely, Namco Bandai won't sell extra controllers directly either. "We do not sell replacement Guncon 3s. If the Guncon 4 [sic] is defective, then we can provide an RMA exchange where we'll inspect and repair or replace your Guncon 3."Much of the appeal of games like Time Crisis 4 comes from the ability t

Namco Bandai announces a lawsuit against Eagle Distributing
According to case information found over at Justia.com, Namco Bandai Games and Namco Bandai Games America have filed suit against Eagle Distributing of Frankfort, Illinois for alleged copyright infringement and intellectual property violations. The suit claims that Eagle Distributing is currently in violation of Namco Bandai's properties through the sale of unauthorized and counterfeit products without authorization from the company. These products include their GameboX Multi-arcade systems and Ms. Pac-Man and More Cocktail and Upright cabinets. The lawsuit seeks damages, right of seizure, and a stop to any further violations from Eagle Distributing. It will be interesting to see what sort of response this lawsuit has. Namco Bandai has notoriously fought to protect its copyrights on arcade properties in the past (including a famous lawsuit against Midway over Ms. Pac-Man), so this is no surprise if Eagle Distributing is indeed in violation of Namco Bandai's copyright protections.

The report states that despite the restructuring, Banpresto's internal division will continue its focus on the arcade and amusement sector.

      Namco anuncia nuevos “Tales of”

This Japanese creator interview shows the first gameplay video of the new DS game at 2:30 minutes in. Drums please! It’s only been announced for Japan so far, but the series did get a U.S. release on PS2, so there’s hope for an English version. Pricing is set at 5040 Yen, which is about $40. Taiko no Tatsujin DS will have a versus mode in addition to up to 4-player multiplayer in local area network mode. The release date is set for July 26th 2007 in Japan, in case you’re thinking of importing it like so many people do with the Ouendan rhythm games. Namco Not Happy With PS3 Sales, Announce Plans
Namco-Bandai has released an announcement regarding their software plans for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. Namco-Bandai cites slower than expected sales of the PlayStation 3 leading them to a less-than-projected sales mark of 300,000 for Gundam Musou (the Gundam beam 'em up that plays like Dynasty Warriors). Namco-Bandai's original prediction for the game was 500,000 sold. "PS3 did not make a good start, which will make the transition from the old game console to the next generation system more prolonged than we had earlier thought. "This will keep a lid on sales of our video games in the first half, although we believe that sales of PS3 will increase in the second half (to March 2008)," Namco-Bandai president Takeo Takasu said.Full Story Here.

JAKKS Extends the NAMCO TV Games Deal
From Next-Gen.biz, JAKKS Pacific announced today an extension to their contract with Bandai Namco that allows them to continue to produce special TV game products based on arcade titles. My only experience with the line is with the Ms. Pac-Man plug and play game which I received as a gift not too long ago. Outside of the unfortunate lack of an AC Adaptor (which I'm told is sold seperately), the game played well. It may not be arcade perfect, but it was a cheap way to relive classic arcade memories. Plus, my wife loves it.For more information about the line, please go to TVGames.com.
