A lot of times, people look down on cynicism as some kind of personality defect. We are taught to not look for the wrong in everything and just trust things to fall into place. However, can such an attitude lead us to become naive. I for one think that being a little cynical is good for you. Journalism, News, Law Enforcement, and countless other careers and facets of life are built on cynicism. Would we really want a naive lawyer representing us? We need to stop being so naive in many parts of our lives. Embrace cynicism a little...you'll like it.

We arrived home early yesterday evening from our Christmas getaway
with family and friends...
Today was a busy day catching up on emails, shipping and tidying up.
Finally, late in the afternoon, I was able to sit down to my paints.
The first day back is always the worse for me...
It's good to be in our own home, cuddle with the cats and dog,
but it's always hard to think that it will be at least a couple of months
until we see friends and family again.
But with any luck, I'm back on track with my painting a day project. I hope
to start a big canvas tomorrow...perhaps return to the metallics and
my homage to Klimt series.
Being Well, as of tomorrow I am taking a bit of a break from my paints. One more sleep and we're off to spend Christmas with family and friends.
