Almost two months ago, I said that the Nuggets weren’t a championship squad. I said they’re biggest failings were terrible defense and a lack of three point shooting. Here we are five games into the season, and here’s what I can tell you about Denver: 1. This team needs a point guard. This isn’t really a defensive problem, but part of the reason the Nuggets got hammered in Boston last night was their lack of a point guard. AI is an excellent playmaker, but he should spend a lot of time working off the ball in order to spread the opposing team’s defense and bring some balance to the offense. 4 whole chicken breasts, skinned & boned 1/2 c. unseasoned fine bread crumbs 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. thyme (or 1/4 tsp. powdered thyme) 1 tsp. basil 1/2 c. butter, melted Cut chicken into bite-size pieces. From KSEE24 News in California: May 21, 2007 - Dog owners are being warned about a batch of possibly contaminated food, sold at a Visalia Costco around mid-April, after at least four dogs fell ill. Two of the dogs who became sick, a nine-year-old chocolate lab named Bob and his 1 1/2-year-old adopted sister, Pearl, have been staying at the Lone Oak Pet Clinic in Visalia, since May 11, after they began throwing up. “We took them in… and her kidney was 80 percent shutdown,” said owner Ken Womack. The dogs are being fed through intravenous tubes and are regaining their strength, but their struggle doesn’t seem to be isolated. Two other dogs apparently came in earlier with the same symptoms. Veterinarian Dr. Matt Humason says “We began asking questions…we found the dogs all ate the same food from the same store at the same time… so we sent a sample to get it tested and it came back positive with melamine.” All four dogs ate Nutra Nuggets brand food. LAKERS, NUGGETS ELIMINATED!The Suns beat the Lakers 119-110 to win the series 4-1. They pulled ahead because of a couple alley oops from Nash to Marion. The Lakers didn't have near enough team chemistry to win. The Suns will face the Spurs (who eliminated the Nuggets) in the next round and I like the Suns in six or seven games.Amare Stoudemire had a huge game with 27 points and 16 boards. When he has a monster game like that it's a guaranteed win for the Suns. Steve Nash had an all around game with 17 points and 10 assists. Nash has to have big games for the Suns to beat the Spurs.

The Nuggets were close, but Allen Iverson needed a better game to get them a win. The Spurs should be happy to get a game in Denver but now they want to get two.Tim Duncan had 20 points and 13 boards. Duncan played a terrific game. His seven offensive boards helped the Spurs get second chance points. If you are George Karl you have to stop that in game 4. Michael Finley played well and finished with 16 points and 5 boards. Finley has shown he can hit big shots and that is great for the Spurs.The Utah Jazz beat the Houston Rockets 98-85 to tie the series 2-2. Both teams play well at home so if that continues the Rockets have the advantage. Utah has come around and now this is like starting the series all over again. They came out and stopped the Spurs big three which allowed them to pull ahead. The Spurs should have done better and I expect them to come ready next game.The Answer and Melo had a combined 61 points which was a part of their success. I loved the defense from Marcus Camby. In one possession he had two blocks.The Sours have to focus on getting Tim Duncan going early and find a way around the defense of Marcus Camby.

NUGGETS VS. SPURS PREVIEW!Tonight the Spurs will host the Nuggets tonight at 7 pm Eastern time on TNT. I think the Spurs will defend their home court but the Nuggets will keep it close. The Nuggets have been playing great of late so this game will probably go down to the wire.

I found this youtube video that shows the brawl between the New York Knicks and the Denver Nuggets that started after a pretty serious foul.  Either way, something needs to be done besides a slap on the wrist.  Carmelo Anthony (who did the most fighting IMO) only got suspended 15 games!  For such a serious action in a professional sport the actions should be alot more harsh.  Here is the video:

NUGGETS BEAT LAKERS 126-108!The LA Lakers finished out their preseason with a loss to the Nuggets 126-108. Here is my game recap. The Lakers had great execution for being without Kobe all preseason. Still no word on if he will play on the Tuesday season opener. The Nuggets are looking good. Melo has become more of a leader and starring with his role. Melo led the Nuggets with 32 points and 3 boards in 31 minutes. His work ethic is shining now. If you look at tape from last season and this season, you will see a difference in confidence. J.R. Smith got 14 points and 3 boards in 22 minutes. He has to come in and be like a young, more talented Voshon Lenard. His shooting capabilities will earn him minutes on this deep squad. Andre Miller got 14 points and 11 assists in 30 minutes. George Karl thinks he is overweight. I have to agree; he looks different, but when it counts his weight shouldn't be an issue. Andrew Bynum, the birthday boy, got 23 points and grabbed 7 boards in 34 minutes. W

The game was a blowout, a usual thing for the Knicks these days, with 1:15 left in the 4th quarter the score was 119-100. J.R. Smith motored down the lane, and Mardy Collins took him down hard it was a flagrant foul. Then, the teams run over and Melo had words with Nate Robinson and then Robinson took down J.R. Smith and the whole game was messed up. The brawl moved down court, and Melo hit Mardy Collins and 10 players were thrown out. Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith, Marcus Camby, Eduardo Najera and Andre Miller for the Nuggets, and Mardy Collins, Nate Robinson, Channing Frye, Jared Jeffries and David Lee for the Knicks. I think the consequences will be double harsh if Stern has the last word. Melo has to set examples as a star player and throwing punches will lose him some popularity but give him street cred. Then the owner of the Falcons said Jim Mora Jr. made a boneheaded mistake. Yes, the Falcons are truly the model of a stable organization. The Knicks and Nuggets fought it out on the court, and as usual, the Knicks got destroyed. Then they literally fought, which was more entertaining than the game.
