Sure, a head probably won't explode from being electrocuted, but the explosion itself looks great. The scene where John Strode's head pops actually looks very similar to Belloq's in Raiders of the Lost Ark. The scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark had to be censored by superimposing flames over the image, which was created by using a shotgun to shoot a dummy head filled with bloody chunks. The same technique was used for the exploding head in Scanners. So, that's how they do it!

I just returned from a private preview midnight screening of Rob Zombie’s remake of John Carpenter’s horror classic Halloween, scheduled to open tomorrow, August 31. I’d have been better off getting the sleep that I missed. If you came here looking for details of the film itself, I apologize. But I’m sure there are literally hundreds of reviews out there to let you know the basic plot line and who plays whom in the film. Caramel Bella, Jessica Alba will star in Mike Myers‘ new film, “The Love Guru.” According to Entertainment Weekly, Myers “will play Pitka, an American raised by gurus in India who moves to the U.S. where he gets involved in resolving a rift between a professional hockey player (Romany Malco) and his estranged wife, who starts an affair with a rival hockey player. Beautiful Alba will play the hockey team owner.
The film begins production in Toronto, Canada this September and is schedule to open June 20, 2008.
