The Lamborghini Murciélago is a sports car produced by Italian automaker Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. and designed by Luc Donckerwolke. It was introduced in 2002 as the successor to the Diablo. The Murciélago is a two-door, two-seat coupé. To celebrate the company's 40 years in operation, 50 special edition Murciélagos were built during the autumn of 2003. An open-top version called the Murciélago Roadster was introduced in 2004 for the 2005 model year. At the high-speed test track in Nardo, Italy, the venerable team at edo competition have put their Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 to the task, making the raging bull go as fast as they can. Using a “meticulously accurate and incorruptible” GPS-based measuring system from TÜV-Rheinland, the LP 640 clocked a record breaking 345.7 km/h (214.8 mph) run, making it the fastest top speed ever recorded by a Lamborghini. Amazingly, the only modifications made were an ECU recalibration, new high flow air filters and high performance catalytic converters specifically designed for the LP 640 which produce 663 hp from the 6.5-liter V12 engine. Already, edo competition have set a new goal for themselves next year as they aspire to achieve a top speed in excess of 360 km/h (224 mph). For fans of the legendary Countach, the current Murcielago is its true successor and perhaps the last of the “real” Lamborghinis. It still has the longitudinal V12 with the transmission sitting in front of the engine between the seats and the obligatory scissor doors. However, that $300,000 price tag puts it well out of range for mere mortals. For the rest of us, Minnesota-based Vigness Motorsports has cobbled up this replica currently on offer on eBay. On the outside, the creators have done a pretty masterful job of replicating the original, with none of the odd proportions you so often find on these types of machines. It even features the pop up air intakes on top of the rear fenders to feed air to the engine. It’s only when you look at the interior and under the engine cover, that you see the limitations of doing such a vehicle on a limited budget. The interior almost makes you long for the cheap plastic of a Jeep Compass. While twelve cylinders may be a bit much t

Not many tuners dare to touch the Lamborghinis, but the few who do (Hamann, Edo) do so with great respect for the supercar icon. Imsa, a German high-tech engineering specialist, has developed an Autoclave moulded carbon fibre technology- and design-package for the ‘devil’ of the Lamborghini line-up. Autoclave moulding is normally a process reserved for F1 and other high-end motorsport racing. The aggressive new front spoiler aligns perfectly to the, by 35 mm widened, wheel arches. On the upper side of the wheel arches imsa has added air ducts resulting in a reduction of the drag effect caused by non-aerodynamic airflow at higher (and top) speeds. The imsa side skirts garantees optimum airflow to the new rear diffuser which has been developed for a perfect interaction with the imsa rear spoiler. Five Dallas teens were injured in an accident between (gulp) a Lamborghini Murcielago and a Ferrari Enzo, allegedly while street racing. According to the unconfirmed report, the Lamborghini was driven by the daughter of local man who owns an an exotic-car dealership. The Enzo was allegedly driven by the daughter of a local attorney. Three male passengers were reportedly also injured, one possibly critically. We had a "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" joke all ready, but it wasn't that funny. The Lamborghini is valued at $280,000, and the Ferarri is valued at more then $2,000,000.00.

The Lamborghini Murciélago will now come with a three-year warranty, in line with the three-year warranty already offered in the UK on Lamborghini Gallardo models. Dopo la Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, la Lamborghini sta già lavorando sulla Murcielago Superleggero che come possiamo vedere dalle foto è già a buon punto. Sembra che il peso della Murcielago Superleggera possa scendere di 100 o 150 kg e attestarsi intorno ai 1.500 (i pannelli della carrozzeria verrebbero sostituiti con altri di fibra di carbonio o plastica, quest’ultimo materiale utilizzato anche per alcune superfici vetrate). This super car offers a V12 in PS engine, 640 hp at 8,000 rpm, while the torque grows from 650 to 660 Nm at 6,000 rpm and many other improvements and a beautiful facelift.
