Magners League Munster travelled up to Ravenhill with an understrength team yesterday, after Declan Kidney decided to rest the majority of his international stars. Ulster were at pretty much full strength, and so were expected to win. They needed to win, and ideally to secure a bonus point, in order to maintain the pressure on Leinster, the league's leaders.And at half time Ulster were well on their way towards that fourth try, with 3 scored for a half-time lead of 21-3 points.

Munster were without the majority of their big names, and it showed in their Magners League clash with Cardiff, as they lost 19-12 in a very mediocre match that was dominated by mistakes and errors. Still, they managed tos secure a losing point by finishing within 7 points of the winners, and Eoghan Hickie can be happy enough with his display.

Trevor Halstead, John Kelly and John O'Sullivan are all returning to the Munster squad to face Cardiff in their upcoming Magners League.
