Mudvayne Give Back To The Fans (Brought To You By Best Buy) [Incentives?]
I'm all for new ways for bands to connect to their fans (and creating new revenue streams in the process), but when the band in question is Mudvayne, and the new idea is so confusing and filled with corporate sponsorship that after four reads of the press release, I still have no idea what the promotion is, I'm a little worried that the motivations might not be all that genuine. For too long, arti

Mudvayne Moving Forward On New Album
It won't be out until later this year, but Mudvayne plans to wrap up the recording of its fourth album this week."I've got three songs left to track, but it's just vocal tracking," frontman Chad Gray tells Billboard.com. "It's just vocal tracking. All the guitars are done. All the drums are done. All the bass is done. We're just doing housekeeping right now. We're just listening, checking things out, reviewing stuff, making sure the performance is the right one -- the little odds and ends you do before you pack up everything and go home."The quartet recorded the as-yet-untitled album in New Orleans with Dave Fortman, who produced 2005's "Lost and Found." Things went smoothly, Gray says, and he's confident that the final product will surprise -- and, he hopes, please -- Mudvayne's core fans."It's not light years away from what we've done in the past, but it's not the same," the singer explains. "This has got some really interesting music on it, stuff you don't expect. It ju

      [2000] Mudvayne - L.D. 50 (Mp3 Download)
Review by William Ruhlmann @ allmusic.com Mudvayne boasts a couple of elements that distinguish it from most contemporary heavy metal outfits. The band adopts bizarre facial makeup that is less suggestive of Kiss than of a bunch of boys who, having failed to plan their Halloween costumes, threw something together by raiding their mother's vanity case. And lead singer Kud (they have funny

[2005] Mudvayne - Lost And Found (Mp3 Download)
Review by Johnny Loftus @ allmusic.com It's been three years for Mudvayne, three years when metal started to reject its "rap" and "nu" prefixes. At first, Lost and Found reflects that realignment. Vocalist Chad Gray and his mates have nixed the nicknames and makeup for their third Epic full-length, and they try to focus on songs instead of heavy music shtick. However, they equate getting real
