      Kuala Lumpur, the Muddy Confluence
Kuala Lumpur was built on the confluence of two rivers, the Sungei (River) Kelang and the Sungei Gombak, and was named because of the muddiness of the confluence of these two rivers.Even as Putrajaya was created as the nation's administrative capital, Kuala Lumpur remained the financial and commercial capital. It covered an area of 243 sq. km. It became a city on 1 February 1972 and was declared a

Muddy Waters - The Complete Plantation Recordings [1993]
This is a treasure trove for the Muddy Waters fan, for the blues historian, for the country-blues enthusiast. Alan Lomax, searching for Robert Johnson (recently deceased), came through and recorded a young McKinley Morganfield. The rest is history. Early versions of future classics can be found on these field recordings from 1941-42, and the guitar and voice that would have unimaginable influence

Iron & Wine - Muddy Hymnal
I’ve shared a car with someone who was in love with Iron & Wine. By the end I was close to climbing out the sunroof at fatal speeds. Not that the whole experience was horrible, the opposite was true in fact for about 3 songs but after that the law of diminishing returns certainly kicks in. Sam Beam is undoubtedly talented; the problem is that he primarily operates within the confines of a single

      Slippers for muddy boots.
We don't know if we're going to laugh or cry over this one. Of course it's a pretty smart idea to let you get away from taking your boots off if you're just stepping inside to pick up a screwdriver. On the other hand it's kind of frightening to think that enough people walk into houses with muddy boots or wellies enough times to make boot slippers like this a marketable product... Muddy Horses and Dryer Weather!
So today was actually warmer. In the 50's and Steve and I decided to assemble the seed spreader and the DR Power grader. I should say that I supervised and Steve did the assembly. He referred to me once as Captain Birdseye, which I found rather amusing. Is it bad when there are extra bolts left over? I also found a tarp in decent condition and placed it between the panels of the riding arena and the goats in hopes to preserve what may be left of certain tails and for northern wind rain block. I just have to tie up the bottom of it and it will be totally secure. Tomorrow and Wednesday even warmer. I've let the girls out for a couple of hours this afternoon and tomorrow I will spread the seed and we'll try and get after our burn pile. The paddock and arena are still somewhat muddy,

      Too Muddy, I Gave Up
It was far too muddy in the paddock area. It had started to dry a bit but then it rained all night Monday and other than the lean-to, everywhere else is deep with mud, so feeling guilty, I opened the pasture to give them a dryer place to be out in. I tossed their morning hay out there and the first thing Misty did was to roll in the one muddy place out there. I've been a bad mommy, she ended up with rub marks on her shoulders from her blanket. New blanket for Misty this year. That one's going in the trash. They stood at the top and ate their hay and then went for a little trot and I didn't see them. I called and they came galloping in,well Misty gallops, Kola tries. Kola's gaited so shes more of a trotter. I yelled for them to take it easy. I'll keep a close eye on them as I don't want

A Chance To Muddy Arsene’s Waters
A gratefully received return to normality with the visit of Wigan Athletic to The Emirates this afternoon. With the number of walking wounded growing this week, it is the opportunity for some ‘fringe’ players to make Arsene think twice about his team selection. That might be overly optimistic for those replacing Hleb and Fabregas but I feel the central midfield position is still ‘up for grabs’. I mean no disrespect to Mathieu Flamini in positing that thought. Arguably this season he has been the most improved player thus far. Possibly that is more to do with playing in his favoured position but the maturity of his play is a step forward from previous appearances in midfield. For whatever reason, he has not looked comfortable when asked to fill in one of the wide positions, left or right, in previous seasons.  However this season, he has shown the form that Arsene knew he was capable of.   It is more the pecking order behind him currently that can be changed.

      Lets talk real muddy sport
Have your kids ever come home real dirty of playing football in mud? Or have yourself been running through a muddy place? Or talking about mud: suppose the visitors of Roskilde have a special skill in surviving in muddy places. But talking about real mud: Now there is an olympic game going on which is real muddy: About 500 people came to a mud flat near Hamburg on Sunday for the fourth annual "Mud Olympics." Among the events were soccer, handball -- and a mud-eel race. The weather cooperated this year. Several days of rain, followed by sunshine over the event itself, made the 2007 "Wattolympiade" ("Mud Olympics") in Brunsbüttel near Hamburg perhaps the muddiest sporting event in the world on Sunday. (From Spiegel Online) Have a look at the article in Spiegel Online, there is real muddy sportsmen.

Muddy Playgrounds in the Land of Oz
When was the last time you actually got down on the floor and saw the world from your toddler’s point of view? Try it out. Get down and walk around on your knees for a half hour or so. Take it all in from your toddler’s viewpoint, especially the interesting stuff like the toilet, the frig, and doorways that might potentially lead to the land of Oz. I think we often forget how our children see the world. Once they start walking around we suddenly start seeing them as little adults. And while in some senses they are, in so many others they just aren’t. Many are still learning cause and consequence, if I can open the frig but I don’t hold it open, it might swing back and bonk me in the head. If I run too fast, my feet might get tangled and I could end up with a face full of carpet. Toddlers don’t always understand these concepts. It’s up to us, as their parents, to still make it a point to interact with our little one on a daily basis. And b

Muddy Waters - Folk Singer(1964)320kbpsMuddy Waters' "unplugged" album was cut in September of 1963 and still sounds fresh and vital today. It was Waters simply returning to his original style on a plain acoustic guitar in a well-tuned room with Willie Dixon on string bass, Clifton James on drums, and Buddy Guy on second acoustic guitar. The nine tracks are divvied up between full rhythm section treatments with Buddy and Muddy as a duo and the final track, "Feel Like Going Home," which Waters approaches solo. What makes this version of the album a worthwhile buy is the inclusion of five bonus tracks from his next two sessions: An April 1964 session brings us Willie Dixon's "The Same Thing" and Waters' "You Can't Lose What You Never Had," while the October 1964 session features J.T. Brown on sax and clarinet on "Short Dress Woman" and "My John the Conqueror Root," as well as "Put Me in Your Lay Away," another strong side. Folk Singer offers both sides of Waters from the early '60s.

Muddy Waters - Fathers and Sons [Expanded](1969) ...
Muddy Waters - Fathers and Sons [Expanded](1969)256kbpsThe resurgence of Chicago-based blues in the mid- to late 1960s came with an entirely new breed of icons to bear the torch. Among them were the decidedly electric Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Joining Muddy Waters (guitar/vocals) and Otis Spann (piano) on the aptly titled Fathers and Sons are three Butterfield Blues Band alumni: Michael Bloomfield (guitar), Sam Lay (drums), and leader Paul Butterfield (guitar). Further augmenting the personnel is Booker T. and the MG's Donald "Duck" Dunn (bass) and Buddy Miles (drums) -- who cameos during the live "Got My Mojo Workin'" finale. This all-star cast helps reclaim some of Waters' fire, which had been summarily doused on his previous outing Electric Mud -- a tasteless pseudo-psychedelic disaster. The poorly executed scheme had been designed to introduce Waters' music to a younger and mostly white audience. In essence, Fathers and Sons is able to accomplish with musical integrity what
