The Modern Art movements can be said to have begun in the mid 19th century. Up until this point, the artists of the world focused their artwork on realistic depictions of the world around them. They made their living solely on commission work, government sponsorship, and exhibitions chosen by government officials. Needless to say, a change was about to come. Insisting that there was more to express and teach through art was not only an artistic movement, but a social development as well.
The first group dedicated to this change were the Impressionists in Paris, circa 1860. The term was coined by a Claude Monet painting called Impression, Sunrise. The artists belonging to the movement were the same artists who had been rejected by the Academie des Beaux-Arts&ndash

Jesus did not start a religion; He started a movement of spiritually transformed people on mission with Him. To better understand this movement from a historical perspective as well as its expression in the twenty-first century, Alan Hirsch’s The Forgotten Ways is a must read. Drawing on his own experiences in Australia, and both the first century movement in the early Church and the twentieth century movement in China, Hirsch unpacks the basic components of spiritual movements. He details the “quintessential elements that combine to create Apostolic Genius”1 which are present in every believer: 1) Christocentric Monotheism: “Jesus is Lord”, 2) Disciplemaking, 3) Missional-Incarnational Impulse, 4) Apostolic Environment, 5) Organic Systems, and 6) Communitas, not Community. Each of these chapters builds a deeper understanding of the foundational building blocks of movements. He also provides a valuable understanding of a missional church (82) and the dangers of consumerism

He observes that the church often gets in the way. The problem stems from consumer Christians who are willing to sit and soak and let the pastor serve them, instead of getting involved themselves. I recently asked this question to Dr. Paul Kaak, Assistant Professor of Organizational Leadership; Assistant Director of the Noel Academy for Strengths Based Leadership and Education (Azusa Pacific University).He suggested two main reasons:1. Dog communication comes in a variety of forms. Dogs use certain movements of their bodies and body parts and different vocalizations to send signals to other dogs, animals and humans. There are a number of basic ways a dog can communicate.
Tail
How high or low the tail is held, in relation to how the dog’s breed naturally carries their tail, and how it is moved can signify the dog’s mood and/or rank. The higher the tail is carried, the more dominant/confident the dog is; the lower, the more submissive/insecure. A tail held straight up, or even slightly curved over the back, shows that the dog is very dominant. If the fur on the tail is also bristled, the dog is saying they are willing and able to defend their position.
Small, slow wags of the tail says the dog is questioning things around them. Either they aren’t sure if the target dog or person is friendly, or they aren’t sure what is going on or what is expected of them.
