MoveOn Moves In on Youth Forum
The proliferation of mainstream media old timers like the New York Times that are trying to jump on the blogging bandwagon (at the same time they are trashing it) is intriguing. Nevertheless, the topic at hand is equally intriguing. The left is no stranger to intentionally skewing poll results, in this case skewing poll results to get the polling questions they want, to suit their agenda. I have seen posts at DU many times to ”DU This Poll” meaning to flood it with votes to skew the results in the direction they want. Then in an amazing feat of doublethink, they point to the skewed poll results as proof of their original proposition. Such mental gymnastics are worthy of an Olympic sport unto itself. Keep in mind that MoveOn.org are those same fine people *cough, cough* that ran a full page ad trashing General Petraeus calling him “General Betrayus”. I once heard the MoveOn crowd described as an unending parade of filth and villainy.  Pretty accurate all in all I’d say. ~RJH New Y

Moveon.org Sent Me Another Propaganda Email about SCHIP
I just received another email from Moveon.org. According to Moveon.org, not only will the Republicans lose votes if they uphold President Bush's SCHIP veto tomorrow, but children are going to die.Yes, children are going to die who cannot afford healthcare, but for the SCHIP program. So, according to Moveon.org, I can save these poor children by contributing $25 to pay for an advertisement telling the story of a young sick child. The total advertisement should cost $200,000. According to Moveon, this young girl would be dead today if it were not for Big Government. How about I pay them $25 for someone to teach these people economics?Nevertheless, this does beg the question, "Why can't Moveon.org just tell me which kids need my help so I can donate $25 to the needy families directly?" The answer is because this is not about needy families. It is not about the children. It is not about healthcare. It is about their power, their control, and their contempt for the rest of us. H

However, what I just saw during an MSNBC commercial was beyond the pale.In a promotion for Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC this week, the question was posed, "Did the Right Swift Boat a 12-year old?" Folks, I just got off the phone with Rush Limbaugh regarding this email from Moveon.org. I subscribe to them so I can stay one-step ahead of them. Moveon Again
Well, you knew it was coming: Sen. Collins is now using the Petraeus ad flap as part of a fundraising pitch. It's entirely fair game, although one of the Collins camp's central charges is misleading: That "MoveOn.org has contributed more money to her opponent than all of the presidential candidates combined, $250,000 already."Phrasing it that way conjures up images of a (nefarious) left-wing behemoth dumping a giant check on Rep. Allen. But that hasn't happened--at least as far as I know. Instead, hundreds (thousands?) of individuals have responded to Moveon.org solicitations by making mostly small dollar donations to Allen's campaign. So they're the ones doing the giving. Moveon is just using their megaphone--and their web platform--to draw attention to the race. It's a subtle distinction, especially if you don't follow these types of things closely. Moveon.org Will Now Pay the Full Price for the New York Times General Betray Us Ad
In a stunning admission of error, the New York Times has admitted that it should not have given moveon.org a substantial price break to run their General Betray Us ad. In a column entitled, “Betraying Its Own Best Interests,” New York Times Public Editor (ombudsman) Clark Hoyt wrote that the newspaper, in running the MoveOn.org ad for the “standby rate” of $64,575, violated its own written standards. “I think the ad violated The Times’s own written standards, and the paper now says that the advertiser got a price break it was not entitled to,” Hoyt wrote.   But, after all, this was too good for the NYT to resist. A radical left wing group who echos the Times ideology, it was just too good to pass up. New York Times Responds to MoveOn Ad Controversy
The ombudsman for The New York Times has responded to the controversy over the MoveOn ad. There have been two major issues–whether MoveOn unfairly received a price break for ideological reasons and whether an ad using language such as “General Betray Us” should have been run at all. The answer to the first question remains murky. Clark Hoyt, the ombudsman for The New York Times writes that “the paper now says that the advertiser got a price break it was not entitled to.” Later in the article the following explanation is provided: MoveOn.org paid what is known in the newspaper industry as a standby rate of $64,575 that it should not have received under Times policies. The group should have paid $142,083. The Times had maintained for a week that the standby rate was appropriate, but a company spokeswoman told me late Thursday afternoon that an advertising sales representative made a mistake… Eli Pariser, the executive director of MoveOn.org, told me t

New York Times admits truth about MoveOn.org ad
Once again the media, in this case the New York Times, has been caught with it’s hand in the political cookie jar. For two weeks they have been defending their actions of not only running a despicable ad for the liberal activist group MoveOn.org but also giving them a huge discount on the cost of the ad. Later when Rudy Giuliani was given the same rate to run a counter ad the left pointed to that as proof of what the New York Times has been claiming. Obviously, they had to give Giuliani the same rate after being caught. I think thats too subtle for some on the left to understand though. However, after two weeks of denials it seems like at the very least the Times violated its own rules and at the worst are, once again, willing accomplices to the left in smearing conservatives. What a shocker. Eli Pariser, the executive director of MoveOn.org, told me that his group called The Times on the Friday before Petraeus’s appearance on Capitol Hill and asked for a rush ad in Monday’s paper.

Baird recently returned from a trip to Iraq and reversed his position on a withdrawal timetable, citing military progress in the four-year-old war. After seeing the successes we have recently been having over there he changes his tune on the timetable for surrender. MoveOn.org Slams Democrats for Passing Domestic Spying Bill
Let me say once again that this program was not, and is not, a domestic spying program in the first place, but that is the way it has been presented to the American people, so it is the term I will continue to use.   Last week the president signed a bill passed by the house and the senate that continues the foreign surveillance program. For my take on this you can read this. The quick version of my take is, if the Democrats were elected on a mandate, and if the president was spying on innocent Americans, they would never have passed this bill.   Now the ultra-liberal group, MoveOn.org is slamming the Democrats. MoveOn.org to Pressure Fox News Advertisers
MoveOn.org has found it’s latest target. They will be going after Fox News. What is the best way to go after a media outlet? By going after the advertisers on that outlet. Take away the money and you take away the outlet. MoveOn.org, the Campaign for America’s Future and liberal blogs like DailyKos.com are asking thousands of supporters to monitor who is advertising on the network. Once a database is gathered, an organized phone-calling campaign will begin, said Jim Gilliam, vice president of media strategy for Brave New Films, a company that has made anti-Fox videos.   You may wonder if such censorship could have legs. MoveOn.org still pulls the Democrats strings
This is quite the interesting article in spite of a few slams at Fox news Channel. The irony of the New York Times saying another news outlet might be biased is delicious. But all in all its still a good read. It points out some very telling things about the Democrat candidates. It shows that they put appearances and political correctness above actual results and positive outcomes. Wow, I'm sure shocked. Fox was the only network to make a suitable offer to the Black Caucus for hosting the Democrat debates and they also instituted some internship and viewership programs within the black and Hispanic community. But the major Democrat candidates are all too eager to turn their back on that. Why? Because the nutroots at MoveOn.org has given them their marching orders and like the good lil’ lapdogs they are they followed their orders. So it could possibly cost the minority communities some very much needed programs and why are they doing it? Because MoveOn.org will throw a hissy fit like

Hillary Clinton Finishes 4th in moveon.org straw poll
This doesn’t mean much but is interesting anyways. Hillary finished fourth in a straw poll held by moveon.org. Obama finished first, followed by Edwards and Kusinich. This is interesting because the presumed front-runner appears to be struggling. Moveon.org is a powerful part of the left wing. They may be ultra left wing fringe players, but that is who the Democrat candidates have been playing to. If Hilary can do no better than fourth with this group it may not look so good for Mrs. Clinton. Moveon.org is very well funded and if they use this and future polls to endorse a Democrat candidate, Mrs. Clinton will have to move even further left to satisfy this group.

Redstate: Moveon.org tells Clinton and Obama to sit, then roll over, then play dead.
Reposted from Redstate. ~RJHRedstate article link Moveon.org tells Clinton and Obama to sit, then roll over, then play dead. By smagar Promoted from blogs, with an observation: yes, the Congressional Black Caucus is expected to roll over and play dead for this one. And you'll notice that nobody - myself, smagar, Captain Ed, the Easter Bunny - is really expecting them not to. Which is sad, but then, if they showed more signs of independence calculated insults like this wouldn't happen to them. - Moe LaneGee...I wonder who wears the pants in the Democratic Party?Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.) yesterday joined former North Carolina senator John Edwards (D) in deciding to skip a debate scheduled for September that Fox News is co-sponsoring with the Congressional Black Caucus.Liberal activists, particularly the online group Moveon.org, have called for Democratic presidential candidates not to participate in debates by Fox, which they say is biased against

More lunacy from the moonbats at MoveOn.org: Democratic Party Dumps FOX
Its hilarious how the left is so intolerant they can't stand a single news outlet that even slightly disagrees with them. And when you consider that they have ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN etc etc why are they so afraid of Fox? What it really comes down to is they are not tolerant of diverse opinions. They only want to hear an echo chamber of agreeing voices. Take a look at Daily Kos & Democratic Underground if you have the stomach for it. A larger more voiciferous collection of nutroots you will not find and any other two sites. Their anger at Roger Ailes is laughable when you consider that they have 99.999% of the Hollywood establishment drinking their Kool Aid. A single comment from one man and they are stifling debate obver it? More like just looking for any excuse as they know they have no ideas and no real platform. Personally I think that the Democrat party intended all along to find some reason to dump Fox. I think they had that in mind before they agreed to the debate. The self d
