From the RJ, with a hat tip to David for pointing us to the article:
Owners of the site where entertainers like Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra and Harry Belafonte basked in the vibe of the first integrated casino in Las Vegas say they are poised to revive the soul of that historic spot.
Dale Scott, president and CEO of the Moulin Rouge Development Corp., said he expects to begin demolishing vacant, dilapidated buildings along Bonanza Road within 60 days and submit plans for a new Moulin Rouge resort to the Las Vegas Planning Commission by year’s end.
If he succeeds in redeveloping the 15-acre site, it would mark the reversal of a run of unstable ownership, bankruptcy, deterioration and vacancy that’s plagued the former Moulin Rouge site for more than 50 years.

Although it sounds like a daunting task to find housing in a country overseas, when it comes to learning French in France you are in for a treat (an expensive treat is still a treat, isn’t it?)
Most "Study French in France" programs will help arrange housing for you in France. Housing options can range from staying in:
a French hotel or
a studio apartment in a French student residence (The Latin Quarter if Paris is the city of your choice, you know, where the famous Moulin Rouge is in case you cannot sleep at night because of all the French language you have to study during the days…) or
your best option: boarding with a French family. Like this you have no other choice than to speak French and you will learn the most in the least time! Not to mention you can fall in love with one of their student children
If you study French in France, then the location of your accommodation is important. You do not want to spend a large part of your day traveling to and
Two weeks ago I went l’Ile de la Visitation, a old, very old part of Montreal that was used by the founders for milling and there is of course a very old mill there. This mill is an archaeological ruin that anyone can visit so I took some picture… over a hundred actually but only [...]
It's Paris in 1899. Christian, a young English poet, comes to Paris to persue a pennyless career as a writer. However, he soon meets a group of Bohemians who tell him that he should write a musical show for them to be performed at the Moulin Rouge, the most famous underworld night club in Paris. The night they arrive at the Moulin Rouge, Christian meets Satine, the club's star and a beautiful courtesan. He falls head-over-heels in love with her and though it takes a bit of convincing, she falls for him as well. Meanwhile, the club's owner, Harold Zidler, invests in a wealthy Duke to help pay for the club, however, the duke will only pay if Satine is his. This crazy love triangle twists and turns. And little does Satine know that she has a deadly secret that could end everything. Moulin Rouge was released in 2001 and it managed to do two impressive things: it made a decent amount of money and it was nominated for a best picture Oscar. Those two things were made a lot more amazing because the movie happened to be a musical, a genre many people thought was as good as dead. Ever since then we have had a couple of high profile musicals coming out every year, the latest being Hairspray, which opened this weekend.
In celebration of that opening, here is a look at some of the posters for recent musicals, ordered chronologically.
Moulin Rouge! (2001)
The one that restarted it all. The poster uses a bold red and has the characters caught in the middle of a very passionate kiss. The imagery is striking, much like the movie.

Take a closer look. This is the classical “Moulin rouge” style bed. It looks so glamorous as it is designed with the golden stand and top with the spectacular design. Besides, it also has the “feathery thingy” on 4 stands on each corner of the bed. The bedsheet matches the bed frame design perfectly too.

As you can probably tell, I’m having a great time with these Micro Masters, spending hours and hours with paintings I’ve admired my whole life. This is one of my favorite Toulouse-Lautrec works, The Englishman at the Moulin Rouge. I can’t get over how charming it looks in micro form! If you haven’t yet begun a collection of “Jamie’s Jewels”, this is a perfect one to start you off in style! Remember too that Mother’s Day is coming. This would make an ideal gift and arrives in a little gold box.
