Remodeling with mosaic backsplashes is quit simple and can easily make a big difference in any lodging’s interior decoration. The name backsplash is usually related to the wall covering that is in average located upper and behind kitchen and bathroom countertops, sinks, cooking corners, fireplaces, and shower walls.

By Shirley Geok-lin LimU.S. novelist Henry James once noted that it takes a lot of history to produce the flowering of literature. In that light, the speed with which new Asian American literature is surfacing might be considered a form of encapsulated history, an enthusiastic response from mainstream U.S. literary circles to the belated appearance of Asian Americans on the U.S. consciousness. Potash (POT) reported a blow-out quarter today, beating estimates by a mile. Earnings tripled over last year and they also raised guidance. The stock has pulled back from a recent high of around $215 to $195 simply because it had run up over 100% since Jan 22nd of this year. The company upped their guidance and it doesn't look like demand is waning. I believe this weakness is a good reason to buy some Potash, although I wouldn't be surprised if the stock pulls down to the $175 mark, where you should consider buying more. Similarly, Mosaic (MOS) has seen tremendous growth in their business and the stock, which was at $60 in November of last year, is down from a recent high of around $140 and trading today in the low $120's. This 11% decline is a grea opportunity to open

They will make a $1 donation to The Pedigree® Adoption Drive for every dog photo that's uploaded to the mosaic. You can upload your favorite dog photo and then they will send you a search code, so you can see your pup's photo in the mosaic.Even though we aren't a big fan of Pedigree food, they do a nice job in helping shelters and rescues all over the US through their adoption programs, share food programs and more.
This is just a reminder that on Monday, April 14th we will start working on the mosaics that will later be installed on the seven totems in the playlot.
The designs are amazing. We know you all will be very impressed. We hope to have them on the website soon.
We would like everyone to come out and help create these beautiful works of art. You may have some questions - so perhaps this will help:

SubscribeI interviewed Chicago mosaic artist Valerie Fuqua to find out about how she puts the pieces together.Why mosaics? Mosaics allow me to take something broken and form a new whole. It's an incredibly therapeutic art form. I love combining the old with the new, creating a marriage of sorts and giving items a second life. Glass can range from chunky and fierce to delicate and wispy. I never tire of the rich textures and reflective qualities of my tesserae. What do you like about doing commissions?Commissions help me grow as an artist. Whether it's incorporating a broken piece of heirloom china into a mosaic or matching colors in upholstery, it's always an exciting challenge. From Twenty Four Hours a Day, Nov. 11:"Every thing in your life may well have been planned by G-d to make you of some use in the world. Each person's life is like the pattern of a mosaic. Each thing that happened to you is like one tiny stone in the mosaic, and each tiny stone fits into the perfected pattern of the mosaic of your life, which has been designed by G-d... I pray that I may not need to see the whole design of my life.... I pray that I may trust the Designer".I remember the days when I used to do needlepoints. Although there was a basic pattern, I still loved making up my own stitches for the various sections. There might have been a specific color that was "meant" to be used, but I often chose my own color and used a particular stitch which I chose from a book. That meant that I was basically within the general "blueprint", but with my own individual "touch".I think my life has been a bit like that; there was always the rebellious part of me, going along with the mainstre

I'm not a big TV watcher. I have certain shows I don't miss, and then otherwise I can do without it. Monday night is Heroes, Tuesday night is House, Wednesday night is Pushing Daisies. Sunday's, when we have time, is for family TV. I love that ABC has actually put on two hours of television that is safe for the entire family to watch together. Last night, Molly, Mia, and I curled up on the couch while Jesse was finishing up his finals for this round of class. After loud laughter followed by oooohs, I asked him if he knew what we were watching. Our reactions made it obvious: America's Funniest Home Videos. It's Mia's favorite TV show. It was a wonderful way to spend my Sunday evening. Us three girls watched AFV, then Mia was tucked into bed, and Molly and I watched (and teared up to) Extreme Home Makeover. There is so much on TV that I feel I have to shelter my children from; these shows are a nice change of pace.Amy Grant is Christian music's top-selling performer of all time, a

She shares experiences with her first born, her last born, and the love of her family

Mosaic is the art of decoration with small pieces of colored glass, stone or other material. It may be a technique of decorative art, an aspect of interior decoration or of cultural and spiritual significance as in a cathedral. Small tiles or fragments of pottery (known as tesserae, diminutive tessellae) or of colored glass or clear glass backed with metal foils are used to create a pattern or picture.History;Mosaics were used across the ancient world for domestic interior decoration. Mosaics of the 4th century BC are found in the Macedonian palace-city of Aegae, and they enriched the floors of Hellenistic villas, and Roman dwellings from Britain to Dura-Europas. Splendid mosaic floors distinguished luxurious Roman villas across north Africa. In Rome, Nero and his architects used mosaics to cover the surfaces of walls and ceilings in the Domus Aurea, built AD 64.The mosaics of Villa Romana del Casale in Sicily are the largest collection of late Roman mosaics in the world and are protec

Sometimes I wonder what Delhi would be without Cannaught Place. Hard to imagine right? I've been in Delhi since I was born and I still haven't been able to discover this market which has seen the city evolve from a scratch. The ancient Near Eastern setting of the Mosaic Law further justifies that the specifics of the law were for a specific people in a specific time. The parallels between the Mosaic Law and the other laws of the time period show that there were common things occurring in that society which required specific laws to address. Examples of these types of laws are those relating to the theft of animals. Animals are not a significant part of many of our lives today (with the possible exception of pets), but the animals during this time period were either the owner’s livelihood or next dinner. Both are directly related to survival. Therefore, the penalty for stealing animals is severe compared to the value we would place on animals today. Exodus 22:1-4 states:
Exodus 22:1-4()
22:1 [1] “If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall repay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. 2 [2] If a thief is found breaking in and is struck so th
