We spent an afternoon a couple of weeks ago at the mall with friends doing some shopping and visiting Santa. My two and a half year old son enjoyed it well enough (for the first time ever) but my daughter - not so much. To her it was akin to torture. Whether [...]
Yesterday, December 12, was the birthday of my mom. We had a dinner at the Century Diner Buffet to celebrate her 44th birthday and then we went to the video store to buy and rent some DVDs. It was just a simple celebration but I know that the most important thing is that we had given thanks to the Lord for another year that He had given to her.Happy Birthday Mommy! From Daddy, Kuya Philip, Phoebe a
Today when I checked my e-mail, I received a message (forwarded message) from a dear friend to me. While reading it up to the bottom, I didn't realize that my tears were falling already. The story made me thought of all the things I've done and shown to my mom. I wasn't a rebellious daughter and yet I still feel the guilt because I know and I'm sure that there was a time I let her down. I neve

Today I am guest posting in Metropolis over at Clark Kent's Lunchbox, since it seems that Clark Kent has disappeared and nobody knows where he is. He has been giving us these completely obscure hints and I have no idea what it's leading to, so if you would like to read about what I have been doing to help ease my antsiness, go on over to CK's Lunchbox and check it out. Remember when I said you would never see pictures of me in my Underoos?Well, I take it back. Because the other night I went to pick my daughter up at my mother's house and guess which pictures my daughter was looking at? You guessed it: me in my Underoos. Then, my mom, bless her little soul, properly sold me out by promising that I would post them on this here blog, or SHE WOULD. So I guess that l

Well, it has officially gotten out of hand. The Halloween candy eating, that is. And now I stare in the mirror and dissect my less than perfect body, zeroing in on the lumps, bumps and cottage cheesy flesh that hang from my skeleton like unwanted baggage. Like those saddlebags, for instance...I don't know about you, but I don't ride horses all that often (except in those dreams where I am riding b

The past few weeks have gone by in a blur, leaving me feeling dizzy and a little bit like my eyes won't focus properly. This might have something to do with the 12 hours a day I spend staring at a computer screen, or the fact that my stress level is one step below heart attack range. Perhaps it is related to my 2-year-old's sudden explosion of headstrong attitude and refusal to listen to anything

Skin care in and of itself can be a complex proposition, especially if you have sensitive skin, post-menopausal skin, or are pregnant. Hormones have a lot to do with the look and feel of your skin, and the hormonal swings and changes in pregnancy have a definite affect on your skin (not to mention the stretching of the skin around your abdomen). Babies also have extremely delicate skin that due

After hearing this question asked multiple times on the same day, a day which was still over three weeks away from the oh-so-exciting train ride, I created the Train Chain.

What pregnant mother doesn't imagine a day when her baby will look into her eyes and say "mommy?" It's one of the things that we most anticipate and most take for granted. When we think about our unborn child, we don't consider any of the potential obstacles and challenges that he or she may face. We just picture that cherubic face, shining with love for us and a sweet little voice saying "mommy."
I'm guest posting over at The Mommy Diaries today! It's all about Gabi and her love of gum. And my subsequent hate for it. Gum should be like alcohol- illegal for anyone under the age of 21. There is very little spoken about women who are in the menopausal and post-menopausal stage of life for some reason. It could be because in today’s day and age women are completely capable of dealing with this period- perhaps better than their own mothers and grandmothers. Nevertheless, a few have to brace themselves for a rather turbulent experience, as they have to deal with the signs and
There is an empty space in our driveway and we've learned our first lesson in commerce. Our conversion van had lost it's purpose and with gas prices we decided that it was time to move to the minivan. I didn't realize how attached the kids were to it. When the man and his wife came to purchase it lase night I showed them the empty spot in the driveway and tried to explain that he gave
We all heard our mothers and our friends' mothers and the mothers in the grocery store yell at their kids and say all the typical, cliche phrases growing up, and of course we always thought we would roll over and die before we said them, right? But I think I am not alone when I say that I find myself saying them ALL THE TIME, and to be honest, they really do come in handy! Here are the Top 10 Mommy

Regardless of the many nice things cosmetic surgery can do for mothers, some aspects of it are beginning to get even more helpful, especially for moms who are battling cancer.

The other day I came across an amazing concept known as belly binding and what I read pretty much amazed me.
