Probably THE summer drink to consume. The Mojito is good in the morning, day, & night. The reason i chose the Mojito today is because I got back from a very relaxing trip to Palm Springs. I was laying back at the pool at the Marriot Shadow Ridge resort drinking mojitos and attempting a summer tan. My experience with the Mojito is quite varied, from disgusting to out of this world.
The beauty of this cocktail are the numerous varieties that can be created with different flavors of rum & even different types of alcohol (champagne, beer, etc.). I am in love with the original concoction though, so I will list how it is done right below. But feel free to give your input of what is your Mojito. The warm weather’s here in the Northern Hemisphere. The official first day of summer just passed and that means it’s high time to switch your boozing habits into refreshing drink mode. Your guests (hopefully) expect something more than wine coolers, tasteless NASCAR beers, and Zima (yes, believe it or not, they still make Zima).
Aside from just knowing to tilt the damn glass before he pours a beer, any guy worth his salt should also know how to make at least one good cocktail. The traditional Cuban mojito is one that just about any lady will love and, since it’s not pink and/or served in a sugar-rimmed Martini glass, self-respecting men don’t mind it either. Crafting a tasty cocktail is a great skill to have when on the road as you just might be able to impress future hosts and friends alike. Fortunately, the mojito recipe couldn’t be simpler and the ingredients can be found almost anywhere.

Ingredientes para 6 personas
1 kg. de cazón, 100 gr. de cebolla, 250 grs. de tomate, 50 grs. de cebollín, 4 ajíes dulces, 1 y 1/2 cda. de alcaparras, 2 cdas. de cilantro fresco, 3 dientes de ajo español, 1 cda. de mostaza alemana, 2 cdtas. de sal, 1/2 cdta. de pimienta negra, 100 ml. de aceite onotado.
PREPARACION
Lavar el cazón con agua y sal. Sancocharlo con agua y sal (si el cazón es grande tardará más en cocinarse; si es joven y tierno, bastarán 15 min.). Separar la piel del cazón y desmenuzar la carne; sofreír los aliños picados finamente y combinar todos los ingredientes. Agregar la mostaza y la alcaparra picada finamente; cocinar a fuego lento unos 15 min. Al finalizar agregar el cilantro picado.
