      Modest Mouse Covers
Just so you know, I’m a BIG fan of covers done the right way. In this humble bloggers opinion, a straight up note for note cover adds nothing to a song, it’s simply a recreation of the original and if someone wanted to hear the original they could listen to it instead. A GOOD cover [...]

[Video] Modest Mouse - Missed the Boat (Walter Robot)
Missed the Boat es la sexta canción y el segundo sencillo del álbum We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, de la banda Modest Mouse.

      [Video] Modest Mouse - Invisible

Modest Mouse - Everywhere And His Nasty Parlor Tricks (EP)
Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks, an eight-song EP from Modest Mouse, is a mellow affair. The release combines old tracks from Night on the Sun (an out-of-print vinyl-only EP), remixes, and outtakes from the The Moon and Antarctica sessions along with a couple new songs. "Willful Suspension of Disbelief" is a sedated intro that didn't make it onto Moon, but it sets the perfect tranquil mood to introduce this disc. Although the new track "You're the Good Things" builds intensity with quickening drumbeats and front man Isaac Brock's tension-filled vocals, most of the songs on this album float in a dreamier state. "The Air"--producer Brian Deck's remix of several Moon tracks collaged together--is a woozy instrumental jam that enters experimental, electronic territory. Brock gets sensitive on "So Much Beauty in Dirt," exclaiming that there's "so much beauty it could make you cry" over stripped-down guitars and subtle psychedelic effects. While Brock's distinct vocal and guitar

Modest Mouse - The Fruit That Ate Itself
Produced by Calvin Johnson, The Fruit That Ate Itself possesses a leaner and meaner sound than earlier Modest Mouse releases -- the emphasis here is less on noise than groove, and the spare, edgy approach of cuts like "Dirty Fingernails" and the title track recalls the goofy indie-funk of Dub Narcotic Sound System and other likeminded Johnson-helmed projects.

Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank
Que decir de Modest Mouse, uno de mis grupos favoritos. Caracterizados por siempre hacer su propio estilo e influenciarse poco por los demás. Si ya el Good News For People That Love Bad News y sobretodo la canción "The World At Large"(mi favorita) fueron increibles, este nuevo disco We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, no lo es menos.La novedad y peculiaridad de este disco respecto a los anteriores reside en la inclusión del ex-guitarrista de The Smiths, Johnny Marr como miembro del grupo. Lo que nos asegura nuevos "riffs" de este gran guitarrista. Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank
Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before the Ship Even SankNow that Modest Mouse have fully established themselves as a major-label indie rock band -- no longer an oxymoron! -- with the success of 2004's Good News for People Who Love Bad News (though they had actually been on Sony, through Epic, since 2000's The Moon & Antarctica), they face the difficult task of trying to follow up a mainstream hit while still retaining the adroit quirkiness that won them fans in the first place.Finding that space between "creativity" and "accessibility" is not easy, but the band (with help from Johnny Marr, among others) is probably as well, if not better, equipped as anyone to tackle the challenge. The first single, "Dashboard," is catchy and interesting, even a little off-kilter, but it's also completely radio-friendly, in that dancey Franz Ferdinand kind of way, and the album's opener, "March into the Sea," has great juxtaposition between Isaac Brock's maniacal Cookie Monster laugh and lighter acco

Modest Mouse Makes A Big Splash On Billboard Chart
Everybody wants a piece of the Washington state band Modest Mouse. Its most recent effort, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, shot straight to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 129,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album was originally intended for release last December, but this spring release seems to have worked out nicely.

Modest Mouse: We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank
"We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" is the fifth studio album from American band Modest Mouse. It was released in America on March 20, 2007. It is their first studio album since 2004's Good News for People Who Love Bad News, and it is also the first album with former The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr. [Full story of We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank]Modest Mouse Bio:In 1994, Isaac Brock, Jeremiah Green, John Wickhart, and Dann Gallucci recorded their debut EP, Blue Cadet-3, Do You Connect?, at Calvin Johnson's Dub Narcotic Studios, which was then released on Calvin's record label K Records. Then followed a single with Sub-Pop that was recorded by Steve Wold at Moon Studios. During this time, Modest Mouse also recorded their "would-be" debut album Sad Sappy Sucker, but constant delays caused the album to be shelved and forgotten (it was officially released in 2001). Modest Mouse Biography
Issaquah, WA, indie rock trio Modest Mouse was formed in 1993 by vocalist/guitarist Isaac Brock, bassist Eric Judy, and drummer Jeremiah Green. After honing their muscular sound in "The Shed" -- a makeshift practice space built by Brock on the land next to his mother's trailer -- Modest Mouse entered Calvin Johnson's Dub Narcotic Studios to cut their 1994 self-titled debut single, released on Johnson's K Records label. Following a move to the Up label, the trio issued two 1996 LPs, This Is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About and Interstate 8.After returning to K, Modest Mouse released The Fruit That Ate Itself in 1997; its follow-up from later that year, The Lonesome Crowded West, was the band's breakthrough, and in the wake of a major-label bidding war, they signed to Sony. The rarities collection Building Nothing out of Something appeared on Up in early 2000, followed later that year by their long-awaited Epic debut, The Moon & Antarctica. In 2001, the band issue
