By: Jeremy Rwakaara With the widespread availability of affordable computers and powerful software for music mixing, the average musician is now able to set up a reasonably decent home studio on a relatively small budget. However, even though the software is extremely powerful and versatile, what seem to be missing are tips on how to create a great mix. So, without any more fanfare, let us get rig
I read yesterday that with the low ratings American Idol is receiving this year that Ryan Seacrest’s job might be on the line. I think Fox has got the wrong person. Look, I don’t know if Paula Abdul is drinking, taking medication, disinterested, or just the dumbest person on the planet, but there is something [...]
The vocals sound great, the drums are really kicking and the guitars are exceptional, but put it all together and what have you got? A mess! Sound familiar? Until you've gained plenty of experience in mixing music, the process can seem very frustrating. There are probably as many correct ways to tackle a mix as [...]

Leider hat mich nach der MIX-Konferenz auf dem Weg zurück aus Las Vegas die Klimaanlage

The Flight Today I arrived in Las Vegas for the Mix 08 conference. After our airplane had taxied out to the tarmac for takeoff, the pilot informed us that since we were going to Las Vegas, our lucky number for the week would be 34. That was the number of planes in front of us on the tarmac waiting to take off. So we got to wait for an hour while all the traffic ahead of us took off. Ready, set, wait. The Hotel Got to the airport and to the Venetian Hotel just fine. Checked in, and the room was just as nice as last year, but they have upgraded it a bit. Everything looked shiny and new, and the CRT televisions were replaced with LCD TVs - three of them. One in the Sitting Room, one in the bedroom, and one in the bathroom (because you have to have a TV in the bathroom). Tested the wireless
MIDI + Mixing: Ecler EVO4 DJ Mixer Specs, EVO5 Update - So, you’ve got a mixer, which is a box covered in faders and knobs that processes audio signal. And you’ve got a MIDI control surface, which is often a box covered in faders and knobs that looks a mixer, but doesn’t process audio signal. Why not combine them into one device? That’s the approach [...] More: continued here Other Review: Meiko (Audio CD)
I officially go on record that I love Pyrex! In almost 20 years of marriage and heavy, daily use, I still have 3 bowls that were given to me as a wedding gift! Over the years I've only had 1 piece of Pyrex break on me and that was my own fault. I took a hot apple pie straight from the oven and wanting it to cool quickly, I set it outside my patio door on the deck step.Oh, did I mention it was the middle of winter? In Northern Minnesota? And my step was covered in ice?Yes, that uh, may have had something to do with the fact that it shattered on impact with the temperature change. Again... completely my fault.Check out this Pyrex Smart Essentials 8 Piece Mixing Bowl Set. The bowls are rimmed so the edges are smooth and safe. The style is classic, functional, and durable. It happens often when someone is bilingual or multilingual to mix up languages. It happens to me when I have to speak a lot of languages one after another in a very short period of time. For example, if I speak to someone in English, and someone comes and don't speak English, I have to speak with him in his language, then, someone else comes and I have to speak with him in another language ... in a short period of time, I have spoken three different languages. When I get back to the first person (who speaks English), I got confused ... then, I speak Spanish, French or whatever and I mix up languages. It takes a few minutes before I realize that I English is the language that I have to speak.I only mix up languages in this kind of situations ... when my mind is solicited (too much) to use a l

If it were a Michigan joke it would be mixing “Maize and Blue” anyway wouldn’t it? Or maybe it’s not a splog. Maybe it is a directory of green links with Google Ads. My apologies to “BoratsFriend.”

I was trying to look off the beaten path for Central Ohio blogs, maybe not strictly Columbus blogs… but about the Central Ohio area, or a particular suburb. Dublin, Worthingt
Spirits and Spice, and everything nice. Mixing up a wicked potion to cleans the entire house of spirits and sprites. Well, bad spirits and sprites, anyway. We like to keep the good ones around. And since I have been dreaming quite a bit lately, and thinking that I really do visit a dream world when I am asleep, I really do want to make sure that we have good spirits in the house, not bad spirits.
Instead of using a cauldron for my potion, I could really use a Hamilton Beach® Mixer instead. It would make my potions so much easier!
And a Hamilton Beach® Stand Mixer would even be the very best one to get! hrmm which color would I like… I don’t know, but I will have to decide!

Like many, we have dabbled with DJing with (we’ll be brutally honest here) truly horrendous results but, in fairness to us, we never had a device such as the staggeringly brilliant Tonium Pacemaker handheld DJ gadget to hand and, besides, there’s a limit as to what can be achieved in attempting to mix Nick Drake’s Northern Skies with the likes of LCD Soundsystem – the results of which still haunt us in a cacophony of mismatched beats.
Let’s be honest here. Any device that has the likes of Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman) involved in beta testing is going to be held in great esteem by us and that’s not even taking into consideration the sheer marvel of this gorgeous device.
Tonium’s Pacemaker, in essence, is a portable media player that comes with a host of inbuilt audio manipulation features allowing for on the fly, professional track mixing between two separate audio channels via a device small enough to pocket.
Hardly sounds like rocket science, does it. But when you con

I don’t know much about wines, however I do appreciate a fine tasting one. This is why I love going to the Wine Vault. Dick DeAngelis doesn’t carry a large variety of wines and that is alright by me. He concentrates on quality and affordability. I’ve gotten four bottles of wine from the Wine Valut. Each one has been awesome and reasonably priced. As I write this I am sipping a Grayson Cellars’ 2005 Cabernet; delicious and it was $14.99!
So I was perturbed when I walked by the Vault this weekend and saw a Rudy Giuliani poster in the window. How can I, a crazy-ass liberal, support a business screaming Rudy for President? And why is a business putting up a political poster?
Now back up about 20 years. I grew up in Keokuk, Iowa. Both my parents were small business owners. I once put a radio station bumper sticker on my car. My dad took it off instantly and told me that we could never have stuff like that on our car. We couldn’t show preferences like that.
Being passionate about what you do draws people to know you. Being able to express your passion when you are talking to someone likewise makes them want to know more about you and do business with you. Here’s how you can do it in your 60 second commercial.

There are a lot of 'systems' for mixing colours out there - instructions on which colours you should use, telling you never to use black or always to use black, to use or not use complementary colours to create neutrals, to use certain brands because the mixing is all done for you and you just follow the 'rules'.I believe that you can look at them all if you want but the only way to understand colour and colour mixing is to do it! and never ever to follow someone elses rigid painting by numbers system in your work. It's more important to understand complementary colours and the way they make each other more vivid when placed next to each other or neutralise each other when mixed - then how to use this in a subtle way by using coloured neutrals to make a colour sing. Or understanding how to adjust a too bright colour by glazing it with a thin wash of its complementary colour.Learn what the colours you have do, by mixing them and painting little grids like these - you'll be amazed
This painting was prepared over a 3/4" poplar surface which contains a smooth almost toothless surface. The still life is that of a cake mixing bowl with cake mix. When I first began painting some 10 years ago, I recall how intimidating it all seemed. With all of the various colors, mediums, brushes and other tools available, it was enough to make my head spin.
While learning about the various brushes and mediums was a bit confusing, the biggest challenge for me was how to accurately depict nature and other real life objects on canvas using color.
How do I make a color lighter or darker? What about making realistic shadows or highlights? This article will shed some colorful light on the situation, and with practice, working with color in your oil paintings will become easier and more enjoyable.
Thank God for the beautiful Sun, for without it, we would not see color. Everything would appear dark and colorless.
Thankfully, the light from the Sun also travels in a straight line. If it didn’t, we wouldn’t have the wonderful variety of light and shadow that makes everything so enjoyable to paint.
If you take an apple for instance, and put

There’s been some controversy recently about the Sellsius Blog Tour USA that will roll cross country from The Big Apple to The City By The Bay during July. A quick recap for those who haven’t heard about this yet.
Sellsius is a real estate marketing company with a blog, the Sellsius Real Estate Blog. Recently they announced that they were going to travel from New York to San Francisco in an RV to promote blogging to individual real estate agents and other real estate professionals.
They included a charitable feature by encouraging individuals to contribute money, services, time, or whatever they could to a family in need.
They put it this way:
“We leave the door wide open on how and whom you want to help. If you are a professional, let us know how you can help. If you are a person in need, let us know how we can help. We’ll post the stories on Blog Tour USA.”
On the back of the RV they are selling squares to advertise “The New Faces of Real Estate&rdquo
I was at work last week and sometimes feel rather like a valet parking person... for horses. One of our clients had just finished his ride and I took his horse off him and started to untack while he got the trusty animal some snacks that he'd left in the car.Upon his return, I was amused to once again have someone comment on my age. For a 22 year old, rising 23, it's funny when people question "So, you got a day off school today and wanted to play with some horses, ey?" Where I instruct, some mothers don't consider me looking old enough to drive - I'm gonna having fun when running my property convincing people of my age and experience!I got chatting with the client and he mentioned how he was having a few lessons before heading off on a Cattle Drive coming up very shortly. Curious, I found out from him that it's an annual event that people can take part in for five days at a time. The drive starts in South Australia and works in around four parts, a certain number of people tre

This was The Fall's twenty fifth session for the BBC and was recorded towards the end 2005, although not broadcast until February 2006 on BBC Radio 3's Mixing It program. Polyvore-mixing paper dolls with fashion magazinesFor some Carrie Bradshaws, mixing paper dolls with fashion magazines is a recipe for losing the entire day. But when it comes to the committed fashionista, this site is far beyond child's play—it solves an important dilemma for the style-obssessed. It can be a pain to lug your shopping bags, brimming with bargains as they surely are, from place to place in order to put a smashing outfit together. So why not upload photos of the items and mix and match virtually? Prep for your island vacation, museum date, school barbeque, or casual office day. Or plan your attire around that new top or pair of shoes. When you've finally created the perfect look, share it and see what the critics say. It's seriously addictive. But that little thing about losing the whole day? Beware. We glanced at the clock after morning coffee, and the next thing we knew, it was time to hit the mall. What's Up With ThatTheWorryClubBest Fun Free Online Games

The Spanish manufacturer ECLER announces with the EVO5 a new DJ’s mixer. EVO might stand for evolution and the announced features suggest a neat development.
After the popular and innovative NUO series of dj mixers, ECLER goes to the next level. The EVO5 is designed as a completely digital constructed mixer with an integrated 12-channel FireWire sound card. To the multiple features belongs an open effect processor which has two generators with own sound effects which can be created and generate MIDI ability, that makes the EVO5 also a digital mixing controller.
