Vanessa Tiegs is the creator of Miniarcs. She creates original miniature sculptures of modern designs using mixed media. Tonight I was checking out PoxNora… this is a very cool free to play online trading card / collectible miniatures game. PoxNora uses a "rune" system where you control champions, spells, relics and equipment in turn based play by randomly selecting runes from your BattleGroup.
Initially, your battle group is chosen from 8 pre-made configurations of rune cards. If you enjoy the game and want to advance the level of your cards as well as configure your own groups, you can choose to purchase "Rune Packs". There are hundreds of Runes available including both the miniatures and illustrated cards containing beautiful fantasy artwork as well as stats and descriptive text.
If you want to play something other than the standard game, you can choose from "Capture the Flag" or "King of the Hill" modes of play.
The game itself uses Java as a platform, so it’s online play only. There is a note on the site that they will soon be releasing AI c
Joseph had visited this exhibition a few days ago.The exhibition shows some models of Hong Kong scenic spots, however, those are mostly spots with historical memory. It is worth to visit, because Hong Kong is a city of life, but old stuff are not keeping well. Non government organization are very indeed to keep the historical information of the city. This is a good chance for everybody to revisit and remember those good day in our daily life. This is a typical scene of old style apartment. This may currently exist in some old district. This is the entrance of the old Wan Chai Market, it is going to be demolish, so there is a banner of protest of the new market arrange there. This is an old-style hair-dressing stall located at open area. This is a pawn shop in Wan Chai, also the interior view (left). The lower picture is the actually view of that pawn shop.Exhibition Name: Miniatures Exhibition - HK TreasuresLocation, 1/F, Devon House, Taikoo PlaceTransport: Exit A, MTR Quarry Bay StationOpen
Atlantic Puffins above - 1.75" x 2.25" and below a pony and foal, 2" x 2", both watercolour.Katherine Tyrrell recently visited the annual exhibition of the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Engravers in the Mall Galleries, London and wrote a wonderfully detailed report on her blog, Making A Mark. As I couldn't get down to see it I found her article really helpful. A few short months ago I didn't know a thing about miniatures, but it seems to be a field attracting a lot of interest from new artists which is really exciting. There is so much to learn, but I am totally hooked and utterly fascinated. The first miniature show I will be entering work for is the Hilliard Society exhibition in Wells, Somerset next spring, so I have a little more time to practice. It is juried as well, so fingers crossed!

Karen Cole enjoys working with bright saturated color to create lively designs of elegant, lasting appeal for her exclusive line of stylish cards. Each miniature creation is hand-illustrated and colored. From a cocktail party to a birth announcement, the karen cole paper collection adds a playful, stylish touch to any occasion. I like the way Karen does her illustrations - whimsical, fun and relax and that’s what most happy occasions are all about. The charming illustrations are professionally printed onto a heavy-weight bright-white card stock, providing a delightful depth of color and texture.
I'm suddenly very into fabric pouches. The other day, I came across a local shop selling upholstery fabric - mostly for curtain materials and such. They have these bundles and bundles of scrap fabric sold at RM2 each bundle. Here's an example of what you will find in one bundle.A hell of a steal, ain't it? What's more, each piece measures approximately 30cm x 30cm. :D So then, I decided to try and see if patchwork using these fabrics will turn out alright. Here's the first one I made, and I really love the colours.I gave it to my mum for her to use as a purse. :) She doesn't like bulky purses or pouches, so I thought this pouch is just the right size for her needs. And here's another pouch in hues of maroon, red and pink. You can see that the borders where different fabrics meet are not sewn very well. That's because I'm mighty scared of the sewing machine. -_- Um..... I have to learn to sew better. T-TWent grocery shopping with mum, dad and sis, a sort of family routine every w
My miniature artwork will be in "Miniatures in Mariposa" exhibition. The exhibition will be at the Sierra Artists Gallery in Mariposa, California from February 27th to the 1st of April.
When we visit Legoland, my favorite place was miny legoland, with all those cities in miniature.I love all those little details, all that hard work and quality.Browsing I found this website: Crystal Palace Landmarks - Elegant gifts and collectiblesThey have a wonderful collection of optical crystal miniature landmarks. They have been selected to be the gifts of heads of state and dignitaries in several countries, including the United States, UK, France, and Japan.I specially like these: The House of Parliament, BrazilSydney Opera HouseThe Tower of PisaSagrada Familia BarcelonaThey are really cute!
Watching that Amsterdam miniature caught our eyes like magnet. We could appreciate how beautifully they had taken care of each and every detailing of the miniature of those buildings.Madurodam is located near Hague. city buses will take you there in 15 mins. These miniatures are of exactly 25 times smaller than actual buildings/structures. If you plan to visit or travel in Netherlands make sure this is your first destination. Madurodam miniatures will introduce you to all important buildings and structures of Netherlands. These are built in open air and amazingly they have been standing against all odds of nature's fury (snow, rain and sun) We visited Rotterdam bridge after having a look at its miniature (although it was already in our must see list) We were eagerly looking forward to see the original large bridge. Only me and shyam could dare to face the chilling wind on the bridge.Highway miniatures were so neatly arranged/automated that its hard to make out that its a miniature. Ta
