      Mike Gravel Defends Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin has a sense of personal outrage over political corruption that plays extremely well with the public, something the others have lost long ago. She has demonstrated the personal courage to publicly confront and overcome Republican Party corruption and has successfully taken on the oil industry over taxation and oil leasing issues.

      Mike Gravel Girl?
While I’m supporting Bob Barr for the Libertarian nomination, he’s not the only guy running for that nomination. Former Democratic candidate Mike Gravel, who did impress me a LOT from his few debate performances, is among them. Anyway, he’s made quite a few comedic online campaign ads and the latest one features ObamaGirl. Although [...]

Presidential Candidate Mike Gravel: “The War in Iraq”
Some officials in the White House want to blame the debacle in Iraq on incompetence in carrying out the war. However, says Presidential Candidate Mike Gravel: “There is no way to make a mistake correctly. The preemptive war in Iraq is a mistake — period.”

Mike Gravel’s Introduction to the Pentagon Papers
A 'must read' from Babblemur.   " ... For twenty years this nation has been at war in Indochina. Tens of thousands of Americans have been killed, half a million have been wounded, a million Asians have died, and millions more have been maimed or have become refugees in their own land. Meanwhile, the greatest representative democracy the world has even seen, the nation of Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln, has had its nose rubbed in the swamp by petty war lords, jealous generals, black marketeers, and grand-scale dope pushers. And the war still goes on. People are still dying, arms and legs are being severed, metal is crashing through human bodies, as a direct result of policy deecisions conceived in secret and still kept from the American people. H. G. Wells, the English no

      Pretend Libertarian Mike Gravel
After getting even less respect than Dennis Kucinich, grumpy old Mike Gravel is leaving the Democratic Party.I'm not sure why he never caught fire, in even the most tepid way, with Democratic voters. But it might be because not many people can stare at Mike's tribute to his his grizzled mug, and the sounds of nature, for longer than ten seconds, without getting the hee bee gee bees :By the way, Mike Gravel supporters should not be confused with the Gravel Girls: Gravel is exiting the Demos because it “is no longer the party of FDR.” But that makes it kind of strange that he is now running for the Libertarian Party nomination. There are all kinds of nutjobs in the Libertarian Party, but not many New Dealers.Mike favors the national sales tax promoted by the other Mike who ran for pr

Mike Gravel and Bob Barr Considering Running as Libertarians
The Republican nomination is all wrapped up. The Democrats are still fighting but, as Chris Dodd said,  “I think it’s very difficult to imagine how anyone can believe that Barack Obama can’t be the nominee of the party. I think that’s a foregone conclusion, in my view, at this juncture given where things are.” [...]

The Democratic Party Dumps Mike Gravel
Today Democratic Presidential candidate Mike Gravel announced that he plans on leaving the Democratic Party for the Libertarian Party. He released the following statement to supporters:I wanted to update you on my latest plans before news gets out. Today, I am announcing my plan to join the Libertarian Party, because the Democratic Party no longer represents my vision for our great country. I wanted my supporters to get this news first, because you have been the ones who have kept my campaign alive since I first declared my candidacy on April 17, 2006. The fact is, the Democratic Party today is no longer the party of FDR. It is a party that continues to sustain war, the military-industrial complex and imperialism -- all of which I find anathema to my views. I don't blame Mike Gravel

RRS Supportive President? What are your thoughts on Mike Gravel for Pres?
The Rational Response Squad has just received an interesting email. Adam Abeles, Chief Biological Science Advisor for Mike Gravel (former Senator running for President) has written us and vocalized respect for our efforts, along with the request of some exposure due to the congruence of his goals with ours. This includes not only intensified promotion of science in all realms, particularly education, but the elimination of creation science in any classroom, and an open dialogue about the dangers of religion. We are reluctant to throw public support in for any particular candidate as it makes a potential conversion to a 501c3 much more difficult. We are able to convey the facts to you and present you with an area in which to discuss them. We want to know what you think of Mike Gravel. For o

      Mike Gravel’s Psychedelic Rap Video
I was looking through through the news from late yesterday and today trying to see if there was anything worth talking about when lo and behold, Mike Gravel delivers. In a big way. Mike Gravel, in case you don’t know or have forgotten, is the forgotten Democratic nominee to run for president. No one ever listens to him because at all the debates, the moderators rarely ask him a question and when they do, he comes across like a crazy ass grandfather that might be suffering from some form of mental deterioration. Despite this, I like the guy and tend to like what he says at the debates, though I don’t know how much of what he says is actually possible because I’m no expert on that stuff. I just occasionally follow politics for the senselessness of them. I’m easily entertained. Mike Gravel decided to bless me, as well as you, with some entertainment today. You owe it to yourself to watch Mike Gravel … rapping. Share This

Mike Gravel Calls Americans Fat and Stupid - Reporter Can’t Believe It
I’m writing late tonight, and this may suck, but hey, what do you expect from a site with a bunch of badly drawn stick figures for a logo? Least I have a logo. That’s right. Don’t be jealous. Everyone’s going to be blogging about Bush’s speech tonight and it’s either going to be blah blah blah he’s holding the country hostage or blah blah blah I want to have George Bush’s babies so instead I’m going to focus on something different. I was getting ready to turn the news off but I flipped over to CNN for a second to see if anyone was talking about the speech. Earlier, I saw Rudy Giuliani looking like some sort of foul creature that just pulled it’s way out of mist covered rot ridden marsh and switched over to MSNBC because I was afraid staring at him for too long would prematurely age me or cause my ears to fall off or something. When I flipped back over I saw a clip of Mike Gravel giving an interview or some such thing an

By Sen. Mike Gravel - Why Hillary Scares MeExcerpt:"During one of the debates I mentioned that my fellow Democratic candidates scare me. Hillary's speech last week to the Take Back America conference gives me yet another reason to be afraid. In an indignant voice she decried the Bush administration's ''stunning record of secrecy and corruption, of cronyism run amok. . . It is everything our founders were afraid of, everything our Constitution was designed to prevent.'' Actually, our Constitution grants Congress the power to prevent these ills but Hillary and her colleagues weren't up to the task. Our founders' legacy did not stop Hillary from voting for the Patriot Act and then supporting its renewal in 2006 despite revelations that the government was using it to infringe on the very liberties that our founders held sacred. Where was her commitment to our founders when she voted to gut our habeas corpus protections?"Read Story

      Mike Gravel for President 2008
Just when it seems all hope is lost, just when you think the voice of reason has been silenced by money-infected media and just when you think there are no choices, along comes a guy like Mike Gravel. Who on earth is Mike Gravel I hear you ask? It's a reasonable question since this man hasn't been seen in political circles in the US in 30 years and now he's standing for the office of president in the US for the Democrats. The primaries don't happen until early 2008, but a riveting live TV debate between the Democrat hopefuls should be enough to make the Republicans sit up and consider that they've got a fight on their hands. While Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton smiled and said they thought the war in Iraq was downright awful, it was also revealed that they voted to continue funding it. The war issue aside, Obama's performance was truly wooden. One commenter in the press astutely pointed out that while he is capable, Barack Obama was no Martin Luther King. Clinton herself project
