      Regional Previews: Midwest
First off- Luke Winn incorporated the home/road splits into a post for his Tourney Blog. His take on it is definitely worth a read. I swear, I have nothing against Vanderbilt- it just so happens that Siena was great on the road, and quite poor at home.On to the Midwest preview. In the table below, the second column is the chance I think each team has of winning the region. This was done partially by taking Pomeroy's numbers into account, but mostly by my own judgments. The next column is what the odds should be. The third column is the best odds I've found, followed by their location.Portland St. is 51:1 just to beat Kansas. Why anyone would bet on them to win the entire region is entirely beyond me.The odds of everyone outside of the top four are really, really bad. USC is a good

      Midwest Auto Recycling
The website I got most excited on going through it was the one about the midwest auto recycling.Since we had a problem with our car, I searched online for some car parts at the cheaper price, but still has the quality i am looking for. One of the best I saw recently was the Midwest Auto Recycling. They have a very nice term when it comes to warranty and that is a big factor for a buyer like me. Though their items are second hand already, they assure its performance, because all transmissions are test driven and manually inspected for possible defects. It is even checked for oil pressure and cleaned thoroughly before shipping to it's customers. I would really recommend this to my friends here because just like me they want true value with their money. If you want a specialist in used engines

      Midwest Auto Recycling
Well guys I just went through a website and it was the one which is concerned about the automobiles.Buying parts can get expensive. However, there are times when a used auto part can be just as good as a new one, especially when your auto parts store tells you it will be a week while they wait for the special order to come in.The used engines from Midwest Auto Recycling come in completed assembly. The quality check done on the used engines include starting the engine, compression inspection, cylinder leak down tested, oil pressure, & then cleaned. The used transmissions sold at midwest auto recycling are test driven, inspected, & cleaned.Customers can be confident that the used parts bought from the company are of dependable quality. Products from the company have strong warrantie

Midwest Marijuana Trade: Local is Always Better
*Names and locations have been changed to protect sources. ____ College’s marijuana trade originates from the suburbs of Chicago and can at times come from as far as Oklahoma before being sold off in small little plastic bags. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services estimates that 37.5% of full-time college students use illicit drugs. What most don’t know is that the trafficking of such substances can come from halfway across the country before it makes its way to ____ College. “I’m just the middle-man. Correction: middle-woman.” Alice, a senior from St. Louis, explains while packing a duffle bag for her upcoming trip. Alice, like most others, agreed to be interviewed only if her real name was not revealed. She is packing for a day trip to an outlying Chicago suburb

All done and a midwest vacation!!
I am not sure how many of you noticed, but I quit doing paid posts. I was saving up for my camera which I was already blessed with thanks to my taxes, so I stopped! They were taking up too much of my already busy day now that Lani and the kids I watch are ON THE MOVE!! I also was truly getting sick of seeing those meaningless posts on my blog. I deleted them all!! If I had a blog with more

      Political cartoons: Midwest Musical
When Elton John and Tim Rice write the musical of the 2008 election, the Wisconsin number is going to be a show stopper......and if Hillary doesn't get her act together, Texas is going to be a campaign stopper.

Obama suprised that Midwest is not “Ingrown” and “Parochial”
Less than hopeful presidential communist candidate, Barack Hussein Obama, seemed to portray Midwestern Iowans as nothing more then inbred hicks. As an individual from the Midwest, I feel offended by Barack Hussein Obama’s remarks. In an interview with ABC News, Barack Hussein Obama expressed surprise that Iowans voted for him in the caucuses. He cited [...]

I Am Heading To The Midwest International Band And Orchestra Clinic Tomorrow
Well, I'm off.  I'm off to the see the wonders of the Midwest Clinic.  This will be my 12th or 13th trip…I'm not sure.  If you are a band director or orchestra director, in my opinion, this is a MUST do often type of clinic.  If you've never been to this clinic (or the Texas Bandmasters Clinic), then I strongly encourage you to attend this in the near future.   Attending this clinic, may very well change your outlook on what you do (certainly for the better)! The Midwest Clinic is always held this time of year and has been in Chicago for as long as I can remember.   Ever publisher that is publishing, every instrument maker that is making, every technology provider that is providing, and anyone who is anyone in our field can usually be found out there.  The days are full of concerts, information, exchange of information, learning sessions, and more. Here is a list of the performers schedule of events for 2007: http://www.midwestclin

      Comic creators in midwest
The Columbia Missourian has an article about comic book writers living and working in the midwestern US. The thing is, it's about Marvel contributors, but not ones that I'm particularly fond of, such as editor Axel Alonso. And then, there's what one of the writers says about Matt Fraction: "We've all sort of entered the business on our own terms," Moore said. "I was doing (and still do)

      Adventures to the midwest
Thanksgiving evening I fell asleep to Charlie Rose who had 4 chefs along with the author and photographer of 'My Last Supper' on his show. My dreams were of cutlery, kitchen chaos and gourmet meals. My alarm sounded promptly at 5am. Deep asleep I initially thought the noise was a kitchen timer but quickly remembered a cab would be arriving shortly to wisk me off to lax. There was an obscene amount of paparazzi swarming the airport but luckily the mayhem didn’t trickle through the SW terminal. Prior to the flight I watched 2 women down margaritas and shots of patron, it was 7am.My first flight, yes I changed planes...long story, was brief, LA to Vegas. I sat in-between two thin people which was a treat. I always seem to get lodged between 2 large humans neither of which share the arm rests. The old man next to me was wearing frye boots but didn’t know that they were cool, he was a g. I ordered hot tea and read NYLON as I listened to the most calming play list I could compile, Zero

      Small Town Midwest Perks
For all the fussing I do about living in a small city in the midwest, it does have it's perks. Last week we attended a football game in another town for my son, who plays Freshman Football. My husband and I didn't know if he had brought a t-shirt to change into after the game so we grabbed two shirts to bring with us 'just in case'. It ends up he did pack a shirt and didn't need either of them

      The Midwest Coast
Water is an essential element of life; we need it to survive. Apparently, H2O also makes people crazy. Nowhere is this more obvious than in coastal sports fans. Yankees fans boo Alex Rodriguez if he strikes out, and are silently skeptical when he has a two-homer game. Boston fans still think they are cursed, even though they just won the World Series (they also think Belichick never cheated).

Columbus, Ohio - Midwest Style Capital
I know, I know, it’s been slow here on Columbus Homes Blog.  I came down with a bug last week but I’m much better now and ready to go.  Today I came across this blurb from the New York Times saying how Columbus has undergone a transformation and, “gained an unexpected new profile as a Midwestern style capital.” If the NYT says it, it must be so.  I got a call a couple weeks ago from Money Magazine and spoke with a reporter about the many reasons why Columbus would be a great place to retire to.  Maybe we are picking up a little street credibility out there for our streets. add to:

      East Meets Midwest
We had a leaky outside faucet not too long ago, and because it is still covered under the builder's warranty for this house, I called the developer to get a plumber over here. A few days later, a really sweet older man sporting suspenders and a white beard came by to examine the problem. He could, he said, replace the faucet with a much more expensive one, the kind that cheap-ass developers
