Happy Holidays. I've made a list, and you can check it twice, of ten homes under $100,000 and over 1,000 sq ft within 3 miles of Broad & High streets. These are only single family homes, there are also 17 more condo choices. I had to really whittle down the list for these which are in either better locations or conditions than some of the others.

Well with the collapse of widespread muni-wifi and the questionable future of WiMax maybe the best we can hope for is the signficantly less ambitious free but sponsored wifi of the days of yore. CBS, por ejemplo, says it’s going to bring wifi to the midtown area between 42nd and the park - you know the drill you’ll first go to some CBS splash page with ads and some local content and then you get the wifi. The interesting thing is they’re working with the MTA to put hotspots up on MTA displays - maybe they’ll wire up some of the stations there - their coverage map hits a pretty dense area for train stations…
In other interesting news it turns out there’s a new Ghostbusters game in the works - it’s planning on being a sequel type of deal. Since I am on a 12th & Midtown kick today, I figured I would talk about 1010 Midtown a little bit. 1010 Midtown is the first phase of the more than 3,000,000 square foot mixed use development known as 12th & Midtown. 1010 Midtown will be a 443 unit condo tower that rises 36 stories above the Midtown skyline. The units will cost between $200,000 and a little over $1 million, and should be ready for residents by the fall of 2008.
Also at 1010 Midtown will be 38,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space on the ground level.

Loews Hotel will open their first property in the Atlanta area when it builds its 414 room hotel in the mixed use development 12th & Midtown. Back when 12th & Midtown was first announced, we knew that there would be a boutique hotel with approximately 400 rooms in the second phase. Now we know exactly which hotel will be landing at 1075 Peachtree Street to go along with a high-rise tower with 725,000 square foot office space, 60,000 square feet of retail space and 60 luxury residential units.
Construction is currently ongoing, and an April 2010 completion date is the target.

Average detached home prices in north central Toronto, particularly along the Yonge Street corridor, nudged above the million-dollar mark in the first half of 2007, according to Toronto Real Estate Board and RE/MAX Ontario Atlantic Canada. Midtown 2 began closings for condo units around the middle of May 2007. Since that time, there has been an average of 1 to 2 newly listed condo units per day that have appeared on the MLS. I get notified with an email to my Blackberry whenever a new listing appears in the MLS in any of the newly constructed condo buildings so that I become one of the first to know when a great deal becomes available.
In the past two weeks listing activity has really picked up at Midtown 2. The good news is that a good number of people are actually closing on their units. The bad news is that these people are still looking to flip their condos. There’s also a good amount of units listed for rent at Midtown 2. That number will grow as more condo owners finish installing their floors, window treatments, light fixtures, etc. since the units come decorator-ready. Once that occurs, then most will likely place their condos on the market for sale or rent.

Card No. 24This walk takes you from the noisy heart of midtown to one of its quietest, most genteel corners.Begin at East 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue (M104 or M42 bus to 42nd Street and Park Avenue, or 4, 5, 6, or 7 train to Grand Central Station).By common agreement, the tallest building in the world in 1930 was also New York's most beautiful. In 1931 the Empire State Building eclipsed it in height, but there was never any doubt as to the Chrysler Building's superior charms. The Chrysler Building is easily picked out from a distance - its fanciful golden spire can be spotted as you drive in from Kennedy Airport - but don't miss the chance to explore it up close, especially its marble and inlaid-wood lobby at ground level. Cross to the south side of East 42nd Street for another noteworthy art deco design, the Chanin Building, #122. Occupying 110 East 42nd is the old Bowery Savings Bank, whose spectacular vaulted interior is now rented out by the hour for weddings, bar mitzvahs,
The second phase of the 12th & Midtown project that is the cornerstone of the hyped "Midtown Mile" is proposed to break ground later this year, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The Metropolitan Center
will be a $225 million mixed-used development located on Spring Street
at the end of the new 17th Street bridge across from Atlantic Station.
There will be a 27-story office tower
and a 30-story luxury apartment tower with 300 units, plus retail space
in both towers.

They were both fresh, delicious, and big enough for dinner.
