This official Microsoft theme turns your XP desktop into dark and shiny Zune inspired work space.Microsoft's takes a decidedly dark turn in this black-tinted theme for Windows XP. A bright orange Start box, sharp gradients, and effective gray-on-gray accents make the theme--based on the company's Zune media player--a welcome change from the default blues and greens. We're not especially enamored of the default desktop wallpaper, which lunges away from the cool factor generated by the rest of the theme in favor of cheesiness, but that's an easy enough user customization. The theme looks especially good when coupled with the Firefox Zune theme created by an independent developer.Download
It was like the world war between Microsoft and Apple and the war is never ending.. question is what is special about Zune and what is different about iPod?
I put it in different categories which i think important for consideration;
Price(Cost)
Zune 80gb is worth based on Amazon.com about $240.00 and compared to iPod 80gb about $249.00 based on apple.com. So we can see that Zune is worth lesser than iPod but i can guarantee you, you can look from other merchant that sale this product they have various price some is Zune is worth more than iPod. So there is not much different in term of price. About downloading music the price Zune and Ipod is almost same.
Physical
Zune 80gb have a 3.2 inch color screen which compared to iPod same capacity only 2.5 inc, so based on viewing video, Zune is much better (perfect for portable video viewing) other than that is physical which is both design have their own unique. iPod with touch pad and Zune with touch control does it make difference?

Such has been Apple’s impact on the digital media player market that it would seem that just about every (though, in our opinion, by no means all) manufacturer looking to carve a niche of their own are seemingly, in the most part, left trailing in Apple’s wake – and few would argue that this has undoubtedly been the case when it comes to Microsoft’s much lamented Zune player.
It’s not that the Zune is an especially bad device, its just that, in terms of specification and innovation it’s hardly acted to set the world alight and, whilst a great deal of the criticism concerning the Zune has by no means been unfounded, we cannot help but feel that, from the outset, Microsoft really ought to have known that Apple’s crown would need to be sideswiped by something fairly spectacular in order to displace it. And, whilst the Zune is certainly a capable device, you’d be hard pressed to find a single review that uses such a term in the context of either the Zune’s capabilities,
Microsoft has unveiled the updated Zune Player. The Zune 2 will come in 4GB, 8GB (Flash versions) and an 80GB hard drive model. The 80GB version is only available in black, while the 4GB and 8GB versions will be available in black, red, pink, and green. The new Zune's will allow users to sync their player to a computer over a home Wi-Fi network. But don’t worry if you already have a Zune as this feature will be available to you via a firmware upgrade. Users who use Windows Media Center, Vista Home or Vista Ultimate can now sync PC-recorded TV content directly to your Zune. Lets see how these now compete with the obvious new generation of iPod Nano and iPod Classic. The new Zube 2 players should be out in November, priced at $149, $199, and $249, respectivelySource: Microsoft
I don’t usually write about technology but I thought I need to share this, badly.
As most of my friends and colleagues know, I totally dislike Microsoft, and am a huge fan of Apple.
So it almost comes as a surprise that I now say I am not going to get the Apple iPhone if and when it arrives in Singapore, but the Microsoft Zune.
For what other phone is there on the market that can provide the classic features that remind me so much of the 70s and 80s when I was growing up? You know, like the pulse dial, small little cube flashbulbs and Polaroids?
Ah… nostalgia, it’s a wonderful and powerful marketing hook, isn’t it?
Just check out these great features that the Microsoft Zune offers!

No seriously… for those of you who saw my recent article regarding what a Zune Phone might look like… well, it looks like Microsoft may actually be considering such an item. Check any tech news site or Google the Zune Phone and you can find some info on what I am talking about. I have to wonder just how far off the phone will be from what we just recently saw in the video I posted. Microsoft’s Zune music player originally aimed to put a dent in the iPod market (whether they said it did or not) but by most accounts was a rather dismal attempt. Maybe Microsoft should stick to making awesome gaming consoles, spectacular Word Processors and then focus on making their OS products alot less buggy and alot more secure. This is the part where I lose some Windows/Vista fans as readers… but in reality we all know its true. In the event that you did not know it was true… buy a Mac!!! It wont take long before you realize that the things you have come to accept as
Mientras tanto, veamos c

Microsoft launched the Zune DAP in the US in November 2006. It was anticipated that Microsoft will introduce the Zune player outside of the United States in late 2007.Steve Ballmer now said in an interview with the German Wirtschafts Woche (via Heise) that the Zune launch in Europe is canceled for autumn 2007. He does not give a new date and blames the delay on the fact that MS is still loosing money on the Zune.In October 2006 a MS spokes person already said in the UK that the Zune might not launch before 2008.Microsoft expects to sell 1 million Zune players by of this month. It is also anticipated that Microsoft will launch new Zune player models for Christmas later this year.On the one hand I agree that companies should not expand to fast if their market share in their home market is not solid. On the other hand it is Microsoft and consumers expect global availability of their products.Best Deal: * Microsoft Zune? Black (30 GB) Digital Media Player (JS8-00001) - Price Range: $220-$2

The Microsoft Zune ($249.99 list) is a shot across iPod's bow. By tightly integrating the Zune device with the Zune online store, Microsoft has made a digital audio player that is nearly as easy to use as the iPod. It has even added some innovative features, like the ability to share songs and pictures with other Zune users via WIFI. Nonetheless, when compared to the iPod/iTunes combination, the Zune just doesn't have the refinement, diverse media offerings, or peripheral support that make the former such a dominant force in the digital music industry.
