Micron anunció la disponibilidad de su memoria DDR2 a 1Gb. capaces de funcionar a 1.066 Mb por segundo. Estos DDR2 solo están disponibles (por el momento) a los fabricantes de placas y se espera que antes de finales de este año esten de venta al público.
Estas unidades estarán destinadas en un principio a las unidades de servidores, diseñadores gráficos y editores de video, ya que sobre estos sistemas tendrán una mejora de productividad de un 33% sobre las memorias DDR2 convecionales.
Estas memorias están fabricadas con una tecnología de 78mn 6F de Micron y tienen un consumo de 1.8v. Esta tecnología de memoria ha sido ya aprobada por los principales fabricantes de placas como puede ser AMD, VÍA y SIS.

Company said it swing to a fiscal second-quarter loss as costs swelled and flash memory prices deteriorated. Net loss for the quarter ended in February was $52 million, or 7 cents per share, compared with a profit of $193 million, or 27 cents per share, in the second quarter of 2006.Revenue rose to $1.43 billion from $1.23 billion. In addition the company said there were significant declines in average selling prices for many of the company's products.
