It's been a while since we get our dog a toy and now I was thinking to get him a new toy. I came across to a site where they have The Michael Vick Plush Dog Toy! for all of your dog's greatest revenge fantasies. I'm sure Boone will surely love this toy. Gotta show this site to my hubby right now!
I could write some drawn out soliloquy as to why the sentence levied against former Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was nothing less than just and reasonable, but it would be a waste of time and energy. The Michael Vick sycophants are impervious to reason. It seems that if you can play football real, real well…that somehow leads to a blank check and free pass for life from your fans. Michael Vick sycophants, this is your invitation to come join me in the real world. The rise and fall of Michael Vick can be summed up in the simple phrase, "personal accountability" Nobody forced Vick to finance an elaborate criminal enterprise. The Bad Newz Kennels were every bit of that. It was elaborate, it was criminal and it was definitely a wide-ranging enterprise, given the federal charges involved. Nobody forced Vick to begin said criminal enterprise with known criminals, ones who had narcotics trafficking on their dossier. (The Feds went looking for drugs given th
(Warning: This is a blog out of anger. You know you love these!)You know the world is going mad when people begin showing support for a person who helped conduct an illegal and inhumane animal fighting operation!Seriously, how can people still like this guy?I've said time and time again that Michael Vick's athletic abilities are amazing, and as an athlete, he is great - but only as an athlete! As a person, he is among the worst type: lying, cruel, dishonest, etc.Despite the fact that his fans are protesting in his favor, and his teammates are wearing the "7" and "Free Vick" shirts under their uniforms, I have to briefly recap the type of person people are showing their support for.Vick is the guy who enjoys giving the "fuck you" gesture to his fans, allegedly forwarded herpes to an unsuspecting woman, and helped promote the killing of animals for enjoyment and illegal gambling pleasure!Oh, yeah... let's not forget that he lied about his involvement in dog fighting for as long as he
Finally! All those desperate Atlanta Falcons fans know Michael Vick's fate: He was sentenced to  23 months (almost 2 years) in prison for the dogfighting charges. It was probably going to be less, but the fact that Vick lied about killing the pit bulls that didn't test well for fighting, added some weight to the final sentence. He admited it in the end, but it was a little too late.Â
The former Falcons star pleaded guilty last August, but he stated he had nothing to do with the dog killing. After spending a while with an FBI agent, he ended up admitting he had hung one dog. The lying was a very bad move for his sentence.
This is definitely a lesson for all those NFL players that are usually "trouble". Wasn't it stupid to risk everything like that? Michael Vick was a very successful quarterback. Why start with the dogfighting thing? Come on, it's not like the needed the money or anything. It's just beyond our reach to understand how such a successful, well-paid, fam
Michael Vick knows where he'll be spending most of the next two years, locked away in a federal prison, doing his time for dogfighting.Once he's a free man - probably in the summer of 2009, assuming he gets time off for good behavior - what comes next? Will NFL commissioner Roger Goodell lift Vick's indefinite suspension? How many seasons will the quarterback miss beyond this year and next, which are a given? Will another team be willing to take a chance on Vick? If he does get back on the field, will he still be the same electrifying player? Will he even be a quarterback?"No one knows," said Dan Reeves, who was Vick's first pro coach with the Atlanta Falcons. "A lot depends on him and what he does with these next two years. I don't know if anybody knows what's going to happen. Either he comes out a better person or he comes out a bitter person."Reeves is right. It's impossible to predict what might happen two years from now, after Vick has served the 23-month sentence imposed Mo

Is Michael Vick really remorseful, as an Atlanta defense attorney suggested, or is he simply trying to buy a shorter sentence? Personally, I hope it is a case of honest to goodness remorse. Either way, Vick, who’s responsible for the pain of over 50 pit bulls, is paying over $900,000 for their care.
Michael Vick has agreed to set aside more than $900,000 to pay for the care and upkeep of 54 pit bulls found on his Virginia property during a raid in April.
In court documents, Billy Martin, one of Vick’s attorneys, said Vick on Friday will deposit $928,073 into an escrow account controlled by Martin’s Washington law firm. The money is being set aside “to pay whatever restitution amount is ultimately ordered in this case,” a court filing said.
The filing, signed by Vick’s lawyers and federal prosecutors, came in response to a motion filed last week by the government. Prosecutors were seeking to make sure Vick set aside enough money to pay restitution at

Michael Vick, former NFH star turned himself over to United States marshals yesterday to start serving a prison sentence for his involvement in a dogfighting conspiracy. Michael Vick before the dogfighting scandal ruined his career, and 3 co-defendants pleaded guilty to 1 count of interstate travel in order to aid illegal gambling and dogfighting. Former NHL star decided to begin serving his sentence even before judge imposes punishment upon him on December 10 at his scheduled hearing.

CNN is reporting that Michael Vick has turned himself in and is on his way to jail…
Michael Vick turned himself in to authorities on Monday to get a head start on serving his sentence for running a dogfighting ring, the U.S. Marshals Service said.
The Atlanta Falcons quarterback is scheduled to be sentenced on December 10 on a federal conspiracy charge of bankrolling the dogfighting operation.
Vick, 27, voluntarily turned himself in around noon, said Kevin Trevillan of the Marshals Service, and is being held at Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, Virginia, until the sentencing hearing.
The quarterback, who has been suspended indefinitely by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, faces 12 to 18 months in prison on the charge.
He pleaded guilty in August after three associates admitted their own roles in the operation and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors.

Due to semi-popular demand, (three people), I have decided to create an opinion-post on this whole Vick situation. For the most part, it seems as though people agree with me. But, that doesn't mean you'll like what I'm about to write. Don't say I didn't warn you...First, I have to officially respond to what Vick's mother, Brenda Boddie, said about her baby Michael:"It is tough on everybody. They are trying to put my baby in jail, and for what?""Everybody makes mistakes," she continued, shortly after her son pleaded guilty. "Everybody deserves a second chance. He has given his life over to God. He is not a criminal . . . He's a good person. He has a big heart, and it just hurts." Mama Vick wants to know what they are trying to put her baby in jail for? Um... I think dogfighting has something to do with it. But she is right about one thing; everyone does makes mistakes. But guess what... everyone has to pay for those mistakes! As a mother, I suppose it's natural to want to protect
Michael Vick apologized to the NFL and the Atlanta Falcons on Monday for “using bad judgment and making bad decisions” and vowed to redeem himself after pleading guilty to a dogfighting charge.
He could be sent to prison for one to five years and was suspended indefinitely by the NFL last week.
According to Falcons they would not cut Vick immediately because of salary-cap issues. The team intends to pursue the $22 million in bonus money that he already received in a $130 million contract signed in 2004.
I've been kicking around on some blogs where the sentiment regarding Michael Vick is ...It's cuz he's black! and He would have gotten off easy if he was white! and His punishment is too harsh!!Good grief.I think some folks are underestimating the love people have for dogs. Much of society equates them to children. To indiscriminately kill these dogs ( read: loving, innocent sometimes better than children) – to kill them, in brutal ways, after they’ve been mauled and neglected equates to being the boogey man to much of society. Perhaps these differences are cultural but I doubt it. They seem more individual. Some people view dogs as nothing more than animals but the majority of people don’t. Dogs sleep in your bed. They lick the faces of children. They guide blind people. They have big eyes full of expression. They’re best friends. They’re loyal companions without malice toward humans. They’ve assumed a special place in society. Even a breed as loathed as pit bulls st
Michael Vick. The name right now says it all – one of infamy, life and a profitable career wasted.Right now, all the pundits on the TV talk shows, radio and in print wonder about the fate of Michael Vick and if he’ll truly suffer. Fans who were enthralled with his athletic prowess wonder if he’ll ever come back, or deserves to do so.On Monday, he pleaded guilty in Richmond, Va. to a dog fighting charge in federal court. As well, as part of his plea, he also admitted bankrolling a dog-breeding enterprise where his animals engaged in fights for money.Lest we forget, he’s been accused of torturing and killing numerous dogs, all pit bulls. Most likely, Mr. Vick will spend at least a year incarcerated in federal prison, and will face a lengthy suspension from the National Football League. Now let’s be honest with ourselves. Is he really going to suffer – I mean really?I have no sympathy for a stupid, egotistical, ornery millionaire athlete who blew his perfect life, but there are f

Michael Vick will enter federal court on Monday, but a newly published report says he will not admit to gambling or killing the dogs. However, Vick is expected to plead guilty to the charge of 'interstate commerce for the purpose of dogfighting.'A source told ESPN he did not kill any dogs, but he was present when the dogs were being killed.Vick faces a maximum of five years in jail. However, a government source told the Associated Press yesterday that prosecutors would most likely recommend a sentence of 12 to 18 months in prison.Three co-defendants in the case have already pleaded guilty and, if the case goes to trial, will likely testify against Vick.
Former NFL star Michael Vick won’t be playing pro football anymore.
The NFL indefinitely suspended Michael Vick without pay Friday just hours after he acknowledged in court papers that he did, indeed, bankroll gambling on dogfighting and helped kill some dogs not worthy of the pit.
Vick, however, insisted he placed no bets of his own nor took any winnings.
In disciplining Vick, commissioner Roger Goodell said Vick’s admitted conduct was “not only illegal but also cruel and reprehensible” and regardless whether he personally placed bets, “your actions in funding the betting and your association with illegal gambling both violate the terms of your NFL player contract and expose you to corrupting influences in derogation of one of the most fundamental responsibilities of an NFL player.”

With the recent plea deal by Michael Vick in his dog fighting case everyone is so quick to say that he should be banned for life from the NFL. I agree that its way too premature to give him forgiveness right away even before he has begun his sentence no matter the length, but while we are so quick to say ban Michael Vick for life we are forgetting a man named Adam “Pacman” Jones. The shooting that Pacman Jones was involved in during the NBA All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas in a nightclub was way worse than what Michael Vick did. Let’s be honest folks, being involved in harming human beings is worse than harming animals. Now given the fact that Pacman Jones had an arrest record prior to the Las Vegas shooting, and that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell handed Pacman Jones a a 1-year sus
I was just reading on the USA TODAY website the “Ten pressing questions surrounding Vick’s case” written by Gary Mihoces, USA TODAY. The federal judge, Henry Hudson, is saying “…Mr. Vick will be making a plea of guilty next Monday morning at 10:30.” In my opinion, they should have never offered him a plea. This should go to trial and he should get the maximum, which is not even enough.

*Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has made the decision to plead guilty to federal dogfighting conspiracy charges following a weekend of weighing options that would have the least affect on his football career.
"After consulting with his family over the weekend, Michael Vick asked that I announce today that he has reached an agreement with federal prosecutors regarding the charges pending against him," lead defense attorney Billy Martin said Monday in a statement.
"Mr. Vick has agreed to enter a plea of guilty to those charges and to accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made. Michael wishes to apologize again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter." Michael is scheduled to plead guilty on Aug 27th. This means possible 1 year in jail and the end of his NFL career. "The only thing that matters is winning football games."-Michael Vick, January 2005You probably thought there was a good chance you'd never be able to bet on Michael Vick and the Atlanta Falcons again. Turns out, you were only half right. The wonderful people at BetUS.com, because they are awesome, have posted odds on what will end up happening to Michael Vick (the irony of odds being posted on a scandal potentially involving a gambling ring...it's overwhelming, really). They have five different props- what his suspension from Goodell will be, how much jail time he'll be sentenced to, how much he'll be fined, what random stuff he'll do before the end of 2010, and if he'll ever play again. I feel it is my civic duty to break down these lines, so thats what I shall do.(Note: For each table, the first column is the listed odds, and the second column is the real chance those odds imply for that event happening.)Will M Vick ever throw another pass as an NFL QB?Talk about a long term bet
What a thug... He had it all, the power, the money, and the endorsements from his football career and he will loose most of it if not all of it over what? A dog fighting ring. Atlanta Falcons quarterback Micheal Vick has just accepted a plea deal which means he's possibly facing some jail time. According to his lawyer, "Mike is accepting full responsibility." I have a dog I just got one about a month ago his name is Max and hes a perfect dog. If Michael Vick is not guilty of these crimes then I apologize, but its looking more and more like hes guilty. It was reported by the Chicago Tribune that defendants said that Vick would DROWN and HANG dogs that didn't perform well. Are you kidding me, thats what SERIAL KILLERS do. If he is guilty I have no sympathy and I think he should go to jail for a long time. How can somebody as privelaged as this man do something so brutal and stupid? It looks like Michael Vick has accepted a plea deal. What a shame and a waste...According to CNN: NFL quarterback Michael Vick accepted a deal Monday to plead guilty to federal conspiracy charges involving an illegal dogfighting operation, according to the Virginian-Pilot newspaper. "Mike's accepting full responsibility," one of Vick's lawyers told the newspaper.
South Carolina prison inmate Jonathan Lee Riches filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Richmond, Va. alleging that Michael Vick stole his pit bulls and sold them on eBay to by “missiles from Iran.” Riches alleges that Vick stole 2 pit bulls from his home in Holiday, Florida and used them for dogfighting in Richmond, Virginia. The handwritten complaint also claims that Vick would need those missiles because he pledged allegiance to the terrorist group Al Qaeda in February.
Riches, who is serving time for wire fraud at Williamsburg Federal Correctional facility in South Carolina, wants $63 billion delivered to the front gates of the prison. Riches also wrote in the complaint, “Michael Vick has to stop physically hurting my feelings and dashing my hopes.” How can anyone physically hurt someone’s feelings? I haven't written anything about Michael Vick because it seemed too easy. I mean, anyone who knows me knows how I feel about dogs. Anyone that can be involved in something so vile deserves way worse than losing to Florida State -- led by Chris Weinke -- in the 2000 National Championship game.I'm kinda hoping that, in addition to suspension from the NFL and jail time, his fate involves paying lawyers to defend against more frivolous lawsuits filed by crazy prisoners, just like this one:
Mr. Vick, was there absolutely any reason you could have not spoke for yourself yesterday? One would think that you would have PR team in place, your lawyers at hand and have the ability to defend yourself and proclaim your innocence in the public domain.I mean, if I was your in position and was in a world of trouble, I’d be so defiant and would articulate my case that I’d shout it from the rooftops.Instead, there’s no public statement by Michael Vick. What a shame.

The Atlanta Falcons quarter back Michael Vick has been told not to come to the pre-season training sessions by the NFL.
Vick has been indicted with charges related to dog fighting and this is the reason why he has been told not to come to the pre season training camp.
On Thursday, the NFL star will face a Federal grand jury to will attempt to answer to these charges. Vick is accused of allowing dog fighting on land he owned.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said:
“While it is for the criminal justice system to determine your guilt or innocence, it is my responsibility as commissioner of the National Football League to determine whether your conduct, even if not criminal, nonetheless violated league policies.”
Don’t you think Vick should be allowed to go to training anyway?

Vick, the star $105 million quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons (not counting endorsements), has been indicted for involvement in a dog-fighting ring associated with his estate in Smithfield, Virginia. I don’t understand, however, why dog-fighting is a federal crime when other things orchestrated by humans against other humans or other animals are not. That’s another story. But back
I've been avoiding the Michael Vick/dog fighting/animal cruelty story but I just can't ignore it any longer. When my husband read to me from some of the news stories (I will admit that I saw the headlines but I chose...
I’m sure by now you’ve all heard about Michael Vicks dog fighting case (its now made its way to the US Senate) but I’m not going to judge the brotha, yea it was a stupid move and I’m sure the brotha is slapping himself as we speak.
What I’am going to talk about is good ol’ Bill, the most, biased, racist, not to mention prejudice man on TV. Bill might as well blame Big Boi and his Pitbull breeding business for advocating this… But since he associates Hip-Hop with all of the woes in America (and all African Americans), this was almost inevitably coming. I’m almost positive Bill told this “Humane of Animal Fighting for the Humane Society Manager” exactly what to say when asked, and exactly who to blame before they went on air. This entire segment was scripted. [watch]

Let the backlash of Michael Vick begin. At least when it comes to his endorsement deals. Vick’s legal issues have cost him his new Nike shoes being released in stores, as the company suspended the release of its latest product line named after the Falcons QB. The Air Zoom Vick V was to be released this summer, but Nike has told retailers it will not release the shoe. For now, the current line of Vick shoes remain in stores, but one has to wonder if that is going to last after all the backlash he is taking over the charges against him.
For now, Nike says they still have a deal with Vick, but have not commented any further about the future of their deal. A statement released by Nike Inc. said the company “is concerned by the serious and highly disturbing allegations made against Michael Vick, and we consider any cruelty to animals inhumane and abhorrent. We do believe that Michael Vick should be afforded the same due process as any citizen; therefore, we have not termin
No politics today, there are other current events, I know. Like this, which has me all hot and bothered. And not hot and bothered in a good way.
Atlanta Falcon’s quarterback Michael Vick and his Bad Newz Kennels.
I’m a dog person. I love dogs. Especially my own Roy.
So hopefully, with the following federal indictment, we won’t be seeing any more of this sort of activity at the Vick residence!
He was indicted by a federal grand jury yesterday on charges of sponsoring a dogfighting operation where the losing dogs either died or were killed. According to the indictment, the dogs were housed, trained and fought at a property owned by Vick.
The 18-page indictment (holy crap, 18 pages?), filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, claims that Vick began the dogfighting operation in early 2001, the former Virginia Tech star’s rookie year with the Falcons.
John Goodwin from the Humane Society said:
“Some of the grisly details in these f
First off, let it be said that Michael Vick has only been charged with being involved with Bad Newz Kennels. In no way does this mean is is guilty (yet). But as of right now, it's not looking good for the Falcons' starting quarterback. After watching Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN this morning, my opinions on Vick stayed the same. Though Mike Golic said that Vick should be allowed to play the 2007 season UNTIL proven guilty, my opinions are the complete opposite. I don't think Vick should be allowed anywhere near a football or a stadium. Here's why...About eight years ago, I did community service at the local S.P.C.A. On far too many occasions did I see animals and pictures of animals that were beaten to near-death extremes. It's a horrible sight to see and those images will forever be indented in my brain. I know I may be wrong for letting personal issues get in the way of trying to stay unbiased, but Vick's alleged offense isn't anything comparable to a petty traffic offen
The Joey Harrington era might have begun in Atlanta. Michael Vick was indicted yesterday by a federal grand jury, charged with competitive dogfighting. And while Vick's future in the NFL is certainly in doubt, there is no denying the fact that not since Enron have we seen a stock plummet such as Vick's has.And this just might be a good thing for fantasy owners. With this cloud of uncertainty hanging over Vick, those of us who are addicted to owning Vick in our leagues might finally get a chance to break the habit.Every year around this time, countless owners start repeating the following mantra: "I will not draft Vick. I will not draft Vick..." Over the course of his career, he has been all but certain to burn any fantasy team he touches. And yet people kept drafting him. Something about the potential of it all was just too hard to resist. The blinding speed, the cannon of an arm, the ablility to go off statistically at any time."It's like having an extra running back," they would s
On December 2004 when the Falcons signed Michael Vick to a 10-year, $130 million contract, owner Arthur Blank proclaimed: “He’s a Falcon for life.” Vick’s contract, though, is not nearly as binding as the Falcons owner’s words make it out to be. If, theoretically, the Falcons wanted to trade or release their embattled quarterback, his contract would not necessarily preclude it. The Falcons have given no indication of wanting to unload Vick, who has been involved in a series of off-field controversies. But from a contractual standpoint, what would happen if the team got to that point with him?
NFL contracts, unlike those in Major League Baseball, the NBA and the NHL, are not fully guaranteed. What that means is that football players are assured of receiving only the portions of their contracts that are stipulated to be guaranteed - generally signing bonuses in most cases. Vick’s contract included $37 million in guaranteed bonu
Michael Vick is the quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons… and also maybe, possibly, and allegedly a dogfight breeder. Have I covered myself enough there, or should I add a few more words for maybe. *Goes off to find thesaurus*.
Anyway, when someone is in the news for a possible crime like this, then you can always rely on YouTube to provide a song about it, and so here courtesy of BradyFan83/Harry Chapin/Ugly Kid Joe is Dog’s In The Kennel…

Michael Vick’s infamous dogfighting house just can’t stay out of trouble. The house, which Vick recently put up for sale, was robbed last month. Among the items stolen were three plasma TVs, two floor buffers, a wet/dry vacuum, and a $17,000 leather couch. Authorities say nothing was taken that was of any importance to the dogfighting investigation.
Things can’t get much worse for Vick. First he gets busted for dogfighting. Now he loses two of his prized floor buffers.
Millions of people, young and old alike, want to be like Michael Vick. As well, in whatever city you travel into, there’s bound to be someone who has a Michael Vick jersey on, or at minimum has a Atlanta Falcon’s cap on. Now, whatever dignity Michael Vick may have left is slowly evaporating. From ESPN: In a weekend interview with ESPN's "Outside the Lines," a source who said he's been involved in dog fighting for more than 30 years referred to Vick as one of the "heavyweights" of the dog fighting world. "He's a pit bull fighter," the source said of Vick. "He's one of the ones that they call 'the big boys' -- that's who bets a large dollar. And they have the money to bet large money. As I'm talking about large money -- $30,000 to $40,000 -- even higher. He's one of the heavyweights." If any of this is true, he may go down as one of the creepiest athletes who I have seen a long while. I’m a pet owner (I have a beagle), and to send animals out to fight, no matter what
Michael Vick was spotted giving the Atlanta Falcon fans the "one finger salute" today after the Falcons lost to the Saints.Vick was the Falcons' main offensive threat with 166 yards rushing, just 7 off his NFL record for a quarterback. He had another rough day passing, completing nine of 24 for 84 yards, but that wasn't entirely his fault. The Atlanta receivers dropped at least five passes, and the offensive line didn't provide much protection. Vick was sacked three times and hit a dozen more behind the line of scrimmage after throwing passes.
Michael Vick has been brought in for questioning do to an incident at Miami Dade airport on Wed police suspected Marijuana residue in his water bottle at first Mick Vick refused to give up the bottle according to Sports center after retrieving the bottle from a recycle bin. The league is upset about this incident the water bottle has been sent to the lab for testing. Remember Vick has a 10 year $130 million dollar deal with the FALCONS.
The police is not in a rush and will takes weeks before the results of the substance is determined. This is not the first time Vic has shamed his team recently he gave the fans the finger and many believe this is the end of the line for Vick and his outrageous behavior. He is the face of the franchise but many are tierd and Arthur Blanks is very upset and an apology is just not good enough. (TO BE CONTINUED)

DAMIT VICK STOP ALREADY!!!!
According the Miami Herald,Falcon's quarterback, Michael Vick was about to board a plane at the Miami International Aiport, when security at the Concourse G checkpoint asked him to surrender his water bottle, which had an Aquafina label. Security regulations prohibit travelers from carrying bottles with more than 3 ounces of liquid through checkpoints. After many requests, Vick eventually left the bottle behind and went to his gate. But after his initial reluctance to give up the bottle it aroused the suspicion of Transportation Security Administration screener Gertrude Joseph. She then pulled the bottle out of a recycle bin and notified her supervisor when she discovered what appeared to be a secret compartment that had a substance inside that smelled alot like marijuana. At this point, the police are still reviewing the evidence and no charges have been filed, but that could be changed after a drug test is run on the substance found in the bottle.
Michael Vick (aka Ookie) was indicted today with friends P-Funk, Q, & T for "Conspiracy to Travel in Interstate Commerce in Aid of Unlawful Activities and to Sponsor a Dog in an Animal Fighting Venture."
The "Animal Fighting Venture" was appropriately named Bad Newz Kennels (why not put a 'z' in Kennels???). The ...
