This guy, who is the first German to win the Formula One World championship, was born on February 3, in 1969. Hürth Hermülheim, Germany is the place where it happened. Seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher is "statistically the greatest driver the sport has ever seen" (according to the official Formula One website). In a 2006 FIA survey, Schumacher was voted as the most popular driver among Formula One fans. After winning two championships with Benetton, Schumacher moved to Ferrari in 1996 and won five consecutive drivers' titles with them from 2000-2004. Schumacher is the first and only Formula One driver to have an entire season of podium finishes (2002).But this racing star has also black sides. Michael was twice involved in scandals that determined the outcome of the world cha
Today in Valencia 7 time F1 Champion Michael Shumacher completed 58 laps onboard of Casey Stoner’s Ducati. Amazingly he lapped at impressive pace, his quickest lap in high 1:37’s. That is only 5 (!) seconds off the lap record set by Dani Pedrosa this weekend. This just proves that Moto GP bikes are very easy to ride because of all electronics involved.
In 2005 Shumi rode Ducati’s 990cc Desmosedici in Mugello. That time he was 15 seconds off the pace. Did he become a better rider? I seriously doubt it, it’s the bike that gives him the confidence. I can speculate that if he tried riding 500cc two stroke GP machine, he would be 45 seconds off the pace or possibly thrown off the bike.
With high horsepower Moto GP bikes getting more and more manageable every year, the rider’s skill slowly becomes irrelevant. It is clear to me that the Golden Era of motorcycle RACERS is over, replaced by the battle on the technological fronts. I think Dorna should do somethi
Patrick Head and his sense of humour made my day :-). While sending his warning over Nico Rosberg to McLaren:
“Nico is contracted to our team for 2008 and we have an option for his services for 2009. We are planning to go into next season with Nico as our lead driver, and we would not entertain any approach from McLaren for Nico. McLaren are a team in a position to offer very large salaries, but our aim is to be looking to strengthen Williams.”
He made his own suggestion to McLaren:
“What about McLaren bringing Michael Schumacher out of retirement? Michael’s still fit - and probably bored. I suspect he has found sitting on the pit wall dull.”
Haha, perhaps he thinks the time has come to follow up on the talk Ron Dennis and Michael Schumacher had back in 1995 during a fashion show (video):

Seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher will be participating ine the Karting World Championship in Mariembourg. The event, which appears on the CIK-FIA calendar, will take place from 20-23 September on the Fagnes circuit in Belgium. It will be the famous German driver's first return to competition since his retirement from F1 following last year's season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix.Last month, his former Ferrari team mate Felipe massa had announced that Schumacher would join him in the International Challenge of Go-Kart in Brazil, an annual event which will take place 24-25 November. Michael recently became the co-owner of the KSM karting team with partners Peter Kaiser and Thomas Muchow."My love for kart races has never left me," Schumacher had declared at the time.
Michael Schumacher has admitted for the first time that the ascendancy of reigning world champion Fernando Alonso contributed to his decision to retire. At the height of his championship reign earlier this decade, the seven time world champion repeatedly declared that the right time to stop will be when a younger driver starts to regularly beat him.38-year-old Schumacher told the Spanish language magazine Gentleman this week that he decided to call it a day at the end of 2006 principally because he detected his dedication to the sport beginning to slip.He added: "And I always said that the day a younger driver went past me would tell me that the moment had arrived to leave."Schumacher also revealed that he sympathises with his 2006 championship rival, as Alonso now endures a somewhat negative relationship with the media."I have been astonished by the commentaries of certain journalists," the German said."This person is the youngest double world champion of all time, but they write that
