      Metroid Prime 3 : Corruption – Reviewed – Wii
By Philip Dunkley I’m going to go out on a limb here to say that if you wanted to get an idea of how big and popular the Metroid Prime series is, kind of imagine it as the Halo for Ninty fans. It’s a series that dates back many a year, evolving from a 2D [...]

I try to avoid posting things which require a product other than the game to try it, but I thought this one was worth posting anyway.Use the "Equip Weapons/Armor" and the "Remove Weapons/Armor" cheats, they should be already on the gameshark. Now you will need to beat to the point where the Omega Metroid appears, now hold L+B to equip all weapons and armor. You can't hurt it now, even though you should be able to. Just let it hit you until your health gets low, (It will take more than one swing now) and then the SA-x will appear, but you won't be stuck on the ground. You can walk around and even weirder the SA-x shoots towards the left of the screen instead of the right.

Artist Creates HD Metroid - SendMeRSS
Artist Creates HD Metroid Far cooler than any fanfiction or sketch of Samus is this creation from an artist who goes by the name of “Alchemist Defined”. It’s a sort of ‘concept screenshot’ of what a new Metroid game could do with the improved graphics capability of the current generation of game systems if they brought the bounty hunter back to her two-dimensional roots. While there aren’t any official plans on what will be happening next for the franchise after the conclusion of the Metroid Prime trilogy since the developer has moved on to other projects Nintendo might be looking for some other options. This definitely looks like one with lots of potential. Related PostsMetriod 3 at E3? Metroid Prime for the GameCube was considered one of the best FPS games. Ever. Super Metroid Commercials
Check out this awesome Japanese Super Metroid TV commercial from 1994 with a live-action reenactment of the game's intro. Game ads are rarely this cool. Here is the American commercial for Super Metroid. They traded coolness for humor and much more gameplay footage. I guess it's not bad, but the Japanese one has freaking live-action Samus! The dog's scared shitless face at the end is priceless, though.

Metroid Prime 3 preview channel for European gamers
Some of you fellow European gamers (the few of you who actually have your Wii's plugged in) would've received an e-mail informing you that the Metroid Prime 3 preview channel is now available for download. I doubt many European gamers even care. Because of something called 'the Internet' and another thing called 'embeddable video' we all saw the trailers that the preview channel had to offer when North American gamers got access to it in August. Still, it's worth downloading just to pad your Wii menu out with an extra channel if nothing else.Thankfully the preview channel wasn't all Nintendo had to offer in the way of Metroid goodies. Super Metroid is now available in the Wii shop! I never owned this game for the Super Nintendo and I only rented it. I remember loving every second of it and wishing I had owned it. I'll wish no more, because I will be downloading the hell out of this game tonight and if you haven't done so already, then you need to do the same.If you can't be

      Metroid Prime: Corruption - Review
Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime: Echoes on Gamecube were part of one of the most successful and best realised franchises available on that platform, so its not wonder that the follow-up title for the Wii, Metroid Prime: Corruption has been so highly anticipated by fans of the series. Unfortunately for those of us in South Africa, local Wiis are PAL systems, and Corruption’s release date on PAL is a couple of months behind, so it was with great excitement that I managed to get my hands on an NTSC Wii and a copy of the game. After reading all the hype about this title, as well as the consistently stellar reviews flooding the Web, I was extremely keen to get my mitts on the game and start playing. (more…)

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption reviews (It's the shit!)
There was no doubt in my mind that this game would receive great reviews and rock worlds. But it's still good to read glowing reviews on how awesome Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is. I actually cried reading a review yesterday evening. It touched my heart in such a way that the fanboy in me had to shed a tear. I feel like typing "F**k Halo!" But I won't. Oops! I already did.The only criticism towards Corruption that is mentioned in every review I've read so far, is that the game has you going on a long winded scavanger hunt right before the final moments of the game. Those who have played through Metroid Prime 1 and 2 will know the deal, as the same thing happened in these games. It's a shameless attempt at making the game longer. But when the rest of the game is so damn hot, you forgive it and just put up with it.If you live in the Americas or Canada, you need to go out and buy this game. Be thankful that you can buy it today, because I bloody well can't. The European release is 2

      Metroid Prime 3 TV spot
I was hoping for something a bit darker, like the awesome official trailer Nintendo premiered on their Metroid Prime 3 preview channel. Ideally I actually would've liked the advert to look like this. But the final result is a cool one, it works and I think it's alright - even though it could've been much better. Nintendo should've put this advert out yonks ago though. The game releases in North America in a day and they only put this shit out to air now!? I love Nintendo, but they don't hustle like Bungie and Microsoft when it comes to promotion. For the Halo 3 TV spot you can bet that Microsoft have Steven Speilberg directing it, John Williams composing the soundtrack for it, that it's going to be the most expensive advert ever made, win 6 Emmy awards, 2 Golden Globes, a Grammy and that it will air on TV, premiere on YouTube and the Xbox Live marketplace by next week. Super Metroid, Shinobi III, Neutopia hit Virtual Console
The original headline was something along the lines of "Samus and Shinobi tour Neutopia on Virtual Console" but honestly, the less time spent thinking up trite headlines the better. Metroid Prime 3 video shows Samus’ controls in her ship
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption is an aptly named first-person adventure from Retro Studios, published by Nintendo on Wii. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, you can point the arm cannon with the Wii Remote pointer and use the grappling beam by moving the Nunchuk. Players can choose whether to use the A button or B trigger for firing. The remaining button is used to jump. Together these controls make the game feel very natural to control Samus as you can see from the gameplay video below. The key features are described as: * First-Person Perfect: Players control Samus by moving with the Nunchuk controller and aiming with the Wii Remote controller, allowing for a level of immersion unlike anything they have ever experienced. It’s a quantum leap in first-person control. * Wonderful Weapons: Samus employs well-known power-ups like the Grapple Beam and Morph Ball, as well as new surprises, to help her survive. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, players will be able to grasp and

      Game review: Metroid Prime
Samus is a bad bitch. I probably shouldn't have referred to her as a bitch. I bet she's rolled into a ball and speeding to my house with murderous intent as I type this. I'm sure she'll forgive me when she realises I've got some good words about her very first 3D adventure.Metroid Prime is not your average first person shoot 'em up. Nintendo have coined it as more of a first person adventure and this sums up the game pretty well. It is not divided into stages or missions as with most FPS's. Instead the game world is one huge area in which Samus must explore. What also causes this game to stray from standard FPS territory is what Samus is able to do. Being a woman she's naturally able to do things that fellas in other first person shooters can't do. Such as curling herself up into a ball and rolling around at top speed, using a grapple beam to swing across chasms and nabbing a perfect lock on her enemies amongst other things. The straying from FPS territory also spreads to the

Back to Back: Proving Ground + Metroid Prime 3
There have been a few news bytes on two games that I am much anticipating. First details and media have been released for the new Tony Hawk game for the DS, once again created by the excellent Vicarious Visions. Also we have started to see some of the pre-release hype for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Tony Hawk Proving Ground I am a loyal follower of the Tony Hawk franchise, like most people I began with THPS2 for the PSone and held a steady interest in the series until the slim upgrades almost made me lose sight of the franchise. That was until the DS iterations of the series came along and rekindled my interest. I personally believe that these games have been a real under appreciated breath of fresh air for the series. So far we have seen American Sk8land and Downhill Jam. Both excellent titles developed by Vicarious Visions; the developers for the also great GBA titles. These games packed a plethora of features such as online play, touch screen customization and voice input. These fe

History of Metroid retrospective (Part 2). Samus enters 16-bits with Super Metroid and the story continues in Metroid Fusion
Super Metroid is considered by many, myself included (as my Super Metroid review accounts), as one of the greatest games of all time. Doing everything right, it expanded on the first game in an infinite number of ways, just as Super Mario Bros. 3 expanded on the original Super Mario Bros. in ways that, up until it’s release, couldn’t have been dreamed of. In GameTrailer’s Metroid Retrospective Part 2, they take an in-depth look at Samus’ finest hour, and then dive into her most obscure modern adventure, the Game Boy Advance Metroid Fusion.

Well despite what may come to your mind when mixing an established series with pinball (Like Sonic or House of the Dead) Metroid Prime Pinball takes everything that was great about Metroid Prime, such as beautiful, well-rendered graphics and good music, and manages to mix up the Pinball genre itself by adding in all the elements that you’d expect from a pinball take on Metroid (Not to mention the game ships with a Rumble cart that slips into the GBA slot on your DS, a nice bonus). From power-ups like Missiles and Power Bombs, to unique pinball elements like electricity to keep your ball from falling through the main flippers and down the drain to boss fights, Metroid Prime Pinball does exactly what you’d expect, yet adds enough that you don’t expect to make it feel fresh and fun. There haven’t been a whole lot of great video game pinball games, probably only a handful throughout the years, but Metroid Prime

Haloid: Master Chief de Halo vs Samus de Metroid. (video)

Nintendo Favs Mario and Metroid Pushed to Late 07
I remember when a new Nintendo meant a new Mario title. Maybe it wasn’t bundled with the console but it was in the very least right there on the shelves next to it. No more I guess. CVG is reporting today that Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3: Corroption (both for the Wii) and Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (for the DS) have been pushed back to late 2007 “which could mean anything from October to December.” Yeah, there are a lot of good DS and Wii games slated for between now and then, there are even some great XBox360 titles to look forward to like Lost Planet, but come on! Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was looking like a launch (or early Q1) title for a long time. It was one of the first titles we saw demoed back around the big news announcements of the Wii console. The good news is, as we’ve seen from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, that when Nintendo mainstays are delayed it’s usually worth the wait. The bad news is our next taste o
