      Medication Merry-Go-Round
Although I usually write about wellness (with some deviation), I've decided to discuss medication. As everyone who regularly reads this blog knows, I'm medication-resistant (which means the standard medications don't work for me). Over a period of ten years, five psychiatrists prescribed 25 different medications in different combinations and different dosages, including Abilify, Adderall, Ativan

Well, the question mark is kind of small, but I still love it. It's called Pea Hannah. If you wanna know where I got it from, post a comment or fan mail. So anyway, Happy Easter!! If it is "happy" easter that is..   Yesterday, Angie came over and after going to the park and window shopping, we got home with my mom's best friend since they were kids and she said instead of a movie, she could teach us how to color easter eggs. This is what we did. 1. Make a small hole in the egg, 2. Take out all the inside. 3. Place it in a tall cup on a straw (put end of straw in hole so it balances) 4. Color! There were tons of techniques to color it, but wh

Much of my time was lived by default watching the years go by, as I clung to my limitations on the merry-go round of my life. Around and around I go. A flash of bright lights illuminating moments in time in a whirlwind of…. Situations.Circumstances.Events.Ideas.People.Places.Things. Each aspect blurring into the familiar colors of frustration that bleed into the picture of the world I have painted. The constant circular patterns that I have wandered in for so long, that at times leave me wondering if there is anything further then what I have already experienced. I have learned to stop these cycles.I have learned that my past does not have to be my present. I have learned to get off the ride. I made a decision yesterday that has catapulted me from the distorted comfort of this

We had a great time, put thousands of miles on our car, Charlie had the stomach flu (we did learn that she needs to learn to chew her food), and only 346 days until we will do it all again.Charlie had a great Christmas even though she had no idea what was going on. In fact the unwrapping of presents freaked her out a bit. Emilie and I have been so diligent in teaching her not to rip books that the concept of ripping off wrapping paper was a bit scary for her. Ultimately Charlie conquered this fear and a good thing she did; she got thousands of gifts.Of course the best part of the holiday was getting to hang out as a family. Merry Unhappy, But Happy
I’ve got home from my parents’ just now. I’ve had a fantastic birthday, Christmas and New Year. I was with my small, but entire family, Patti’s family, my cats and my friends. In fact, I enjoyed my two-week break so much I’m sitting here in my house in London feeling genuinely home-sick. It’s the longest I’ve spent visiting the family since I moved from Buxton and I think it had a very moving effect. Of course, I’m sure it’ll pass while I’m in Las Vegas for CES - something I leave for the day after tomorrow - but it’s nonetheless on my mind that despite having everything I could possibly want right now, I miss my home town to the extent that I didn’t want to leave today. I’ve got loads of photos to upload soon, but I’m going to do them over a coffee in the morn

The picture will tell you more than I could write in a few sentence, so have a look.Herein, I present to you an old Polish tradition - most people here would agree that there can be no traditional Christmas Eve feast without a carp. There are 12 dishes traditionally served on 24th of December in Poland and many of them have carp as a part of their recipe's ingredients list. Carps are being sold at the stalls, which appear seemingly out of nowhere about a week before Christmas. They are easy to spot as you drive through the city. The carps a

This year bugger it she was already awake though! There is nothing quite like watching children open up gifts is there? The anticipation almost kills them, and I’m sure that sometimes there is a level of disappointment once they KNOW what the gift is. Not because they don’t enjoy it, but because while your imagining what it could possibly be then the excitement just keeps going and going and the potential for fun never really stops. But once you know, well then all those potentials are gone. There is only reality, not possibility. Almost a let down sometimes don’t you think? Any

      Merry Christmas - Part 2
Maybe next year I will count skiing in my climbing goal (that would be cheating)! But it sure is a lot easier going up a mountain by chair lift, than by bicycle. Christmas day is a great time to ski, and we had perfect weather in the mountains, avoiding another gray dreary day down low in Geneva. Megeve ski resort is less than an hour from home and right next to beautiful Mont Blanc. World famous Chamonix is nearby, but its a lot more difficult skiing and harder to get around. At Megeve, the skiing is perfect for less than expert skiers like us. Martin joined us and as we sometimes do, we spent most of the day congratulating ourselves for getting out on such a perfect day. Merry Christmas! PS - Please note Doreen’s clearly expert style in the first photo below. Related PostsMerry ChristmasLa PlagneSkiing - Les Arcs, France

      Merry X-Mas!
Hey kiddies! I am back in Pittsburgh with the family and unfortunately I am experiencing some kind of sinus infection (which sucks) and I can't really play around with my nephew because of said infection (which sucks)...but otherwise, all is well.Internet access is limited due to my family's poor network not working with my computer, so this will be my only post probably until this weekend when I get back into the city.I just want to wish you all a merry Christmas and I hope everyone gets what they want and something they didn't know they needed. Much love and light to everyone! See you soon!xoxoxDanny[Image Source]

      A Very Merry Non-Traditional Christmas...
Breaking my no picture rule to wish you a Merry Christmas from Aruba. This was certainly the most non-traditional Christmas that I have ever experienced. The kids slept in late.  We ate breakfast outside.  We opened Santa's gifts and went to the beach before opening any others.  I took a nap and read a book.  We're headed our to a Japanese Steak House for Christmas dinner and will be meeting up with our local friends this evening.Non-traditional indeed, but I am loving it.Oh, and check out what was in my stocking...apparently Santa thinks I was a very nice Mommy this year...actually, there is a story behind it that I will share in a later post. (Note: In case you can't open the link, it's a Tiffany's Platinum Etoile Heart Pendant)

Merry Christmas from The Conservative Post
      - Scott Miller As you may have noticed, we are bit slow with the posts this week… The Conservative Post has descended on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina for Christmas at the beach this year. We are recharging our batteries, enjoying one of God’s most beautiful seaside creations, and getting ready for the huge political year as we go to work pushing back the liberal hordes. To the troops, and their families, both here and abroad… our prayers are with you, thank you for defending our liberty, be safe and God’s speed. To The Conservative Post readers… Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year. Talk at ya’ next week!

      Merry Christmas From the Yukon
It’s just before 8:00, over 2 hours until sunrise, but there’s just the teeniest bit of light in the sky from the almost-full moon that’s partly hidden by clouds. There isn’t a sound here - it’s as peaceful as it is beautiful.       It doesn’t really feel like Christmas Day for us - I suppose that with a million things still to do after our move 3 weeks ago, Christmas has just never made the priority list. We didn’t buy any gifts this year, even for each other.  Luckily the previous owners of the property left a few lights on the house, so I was able to just go to the barn for the ladder to hook up an extension cord to them a few minutes ago. We’re off to a neighbour’s house at 11, though, and then my son and his partner are coming for dinner, so we’ll get into it before the day is out, I’m sure. To my family, who are mostly in Kelowna today, to Cathy’s family in Ontario, and to all of our friends around the
