OK, here's another post for all of you who are still on the fence about "that silly little chat-thingy called Twitter". I had been going through the motions, and when I went to a conference a couple weeks ago, I saw the potential. Now, after last night after an event called #DenverTweetup... I'm sold. I'm officially taking the position of "You are absolutely crazy if you don't ju

Monomists, Unite: Monome Mavens Meetup in Princeton; Will You, Too? - As the Monome, the sustainably-produced open controller hardware, spreads, it’s going from one-person gimmick (i.e., “look what I’ve got!”) to club and community (”let’s get together and monomate!”). I was fortunate enough to get a few people together (read:40 photographers, 3 models, 2 makeup artists) at a parking garage in Austin. Since I was the organizer, I couldn’t do much in the way of shooting, but after a couple of hours, I was able to snap off a few frames.

Blogging has seriously given me the opportunity to meet more people and gain more knowledge (more then I could have ever acquired at my previous job).
Anyway...
The day started out quite badly. I was feeling rather ill in the morning. In fact, if my Prince hadn't came over and woke me up, I'd probably have missed the "gathering" altogether. Thank god!
Then again, if I hadn't told Precious the night before that I'd be attending, I'd probably just not turn up. After all I didn't exactly post in the forums that I'd there to begin with.
Ah well, anyway...
The meeting was supposedly 12.30pm, but I kinda arrived shortly after 1pm, late as usual. *Sigh* Missed out on the beginning portion of the "discussion"...
And I didn't get to meet up with Nic.
I wonder what's up with that...

I attended the London OpenCoffee Meetup last week, and found it to be a great event. Started by Saul Klein, entrepreneur, former Marketing VP at Skype, and author of the localglo.be blog, the Meetup was held at Starbucks on Regent Street. This meant that there was no chance that anyone one was going to suffer from low caffeine levels.
The great thing about this event is that there is absolutely no structure beyond who is coming and where it’s going to be held. It is a pure and simple networking event; people go there to make business connections, not to listen to speakers. It is probably the purist networking event I have been to in the sense that there was no agenda coming from the organisers, and no sponsors. The relaxed environment of a coffee shop is exceptionally conducive to meeting new people. While it may have been laid back, the discussions were very much business focused and I left having made a number of contacts that I will definitely be interacting w
The Stylescout and StilinBerlin are organizing another fashion blogger's meetup!!! This time I've cleared my agenda! I'll definitely will be there. The actual occasion of this meetup is an exhibition called "Catwalk takes to the streets" opening april 20th at theCREATE BERLIN Showroom | Postfuhramt Berlin | Oranienburger Str. 35-36 | Auguststr. 5a | 10117 Berlin-Mitte | create-berlin.de. Just a couple of minutes from my friends flat ;-)Both occasions are definitely worth a weekend trip to Berlin. I really hope to meet some fellow German fashion bloggers there (there aren't many out there!?)...20. April 2007 >>> SAVE THE DATE!!!Credit: stylescout.blogspot.com

I've just received an invitation for the fashion bloggers meetup during paris fashion week (many thanks to Robert and Luisa) on the 1st of march and I'm still figuring out how to get there the cheapest way (much more important is where to stay!). Please cross your fingers that I'll manage it somehow without spending any money (ha, ha...). So if you want to see me beeing interviewed please transfere some money to my paypal account, well, maybe...I'll keep you informed.
The Buffalo Flickr group had its monthly meetup today at SPOT Coffee on Elmwood. It was a beautiful, sunny day and a good excuse to get myself moving earlier than usual on a Sunday morning. Being somewhat of a coffee purist, I skipped the fancy lattes and cappuccinos and ordered a mucho Papua New Guinea on wheels. We did a Holiday Card Swap and enclosed a 4″x6″ print of our favorite photo from the past year.
The meetups are always a nice social event and frequently a source of some good photography tips and info. Quite a few of my fellow bloggers belong to this group. You guys, and gals, should should stop by if possible. The place and date is always posted in the discuss thread for the group. Today we had a surprise visitor, a person of local fame with deep activist roots who is always looking for ways to improve our city. David, from Fix Buffalo Today, provided some interesting conversation and ideas for future photo excursions.
Below are a couple of photos I shot
