Legal Dissecting RoomLittle did we know that attempting to clear Professor Meadow's name would inflame so many people. There has been one lengthy email to me that I wanted to outline briefly.Firstly, Sally Clark is deemed innocent because of her successful court cases.Professor Roy Meadow though is termed guilty by the public despite judgments that essentially clears him.The email states of us "You are also wrong that the GMC appealed against the decision to restore him to the register. They did not. They appealed only on the point that expert witnesses were not immune from GMC proceedings and this they won on appeal."Of course, I do not appreciate being accused of misreporting material. We shall therefore examine what the facts are. For avoidance of doubt the public should take the ti
There has always been many rumours about Professsor Roy Meadow. Half the medical population and most of the public think he was and is still struck off the medical register. Of course, he isn't struck off at all. That is the whole point. We decided that we owed it to Professor Roy Meadow to clear his name following the media vilification and the efforts made by the GMC to fudge the truth. While doctors who actually harm patients and may even kill are never sanctioned or taken down the procedures, the GMC acted to appease the public in the case of Roy Meadow. Chasing Roy Meadow was not justice. It was simply giving the anti msbp group their pound of flesh. The public frenzy driven by the media often misunderstands situations.Firstly, Professor Roy Meadow was only tried at the GMC because th
This is really a heart shattering story of a 7 year old girl, Meadow Quinn, who has a disease called Neurofibromatosis. This little girl has several inoperable tumors, and has been fed through a feeding tube since she was 18 months old.As a mother it really crushes my heart when a young child needs a special medical treatment, and that treatment is denied by their health insurance company. This family needs to raise $70,000 to help pay for a feeding clinic program at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. This feeding clinic requires a 4 week stay that will help her to learn to eat like any other 7 year old.Over $42,000 has been raised already. Today's cross country meet at Lindley Meadow in Golden Gate Park brought some of the best division V talent in the North Coast Section (NCS) together for a mini preview of the section final. While some teams chose to run some of their younger talent in the F/S divisions, most came ready to demonstrate their strength in the varsity divisions.Because of the large number of teams, Cross Country in the Bay Counties League (BCL) is divided into East and West. The season dual meets and league finals are run separately except for the annual BCL East/West Challenge. The start and finish of the course used for this race takes place at Lindley Meadow with a portion of the race running parallel to the famous Golden Gate Park Polo Field. Map of the 5K course can be seen below.Following the F/S races (results posted below), the girls' varsity race got under way. With the state's #3 ranked College Prep girls running most of their top runners in the F/S division, the race went to #4 ranked Cr

In this photo you see the family boathouse again (check this photo to see it with the fjord as a background). Loved the way the blue sky, clouds and the mountain created a nice background to the boatshed.

This plant grows in tall spikes up to a metre and a half. It grows from a basal rosette of leaves. It has a hood like upper lip to the flower. It's quite rare now in England and is a protected species but fairly common in the rest of Europe. It is mainly to be found on good quality chalk grassland. It needs some patches of bare ground to allow seed germination so it might typically be found growing near rabbit warrens. If you want any more information about this plant check out Plantlife's article about the species

The Long Meadow Ranch 2004 Ranch House Red has a very dense, dark red color in the glass with a touch of cloudiness. On the nose black cherries, spice, earth, wet stone, and a hint of sherry like aromas. On the palate again the black cherry, with red cherry, black currant, and some peppery spice. Again a hint of that sherry quality, that I am not a fan of. The fruit is at first intense but loses strength quickly and gives way to tart tannins on the medium length finish. This is not a wine I would recommend. I do not like the sherry associations I get on the nose and palate, and the wine is not very well balanced. For $19 I can easily find a wine that fits my palate better.Vote for my blog here and help me stay in top 10 on The Blog Top! I have finally reached top 10 and I am now striving to reach top 5!

Summer is here!! What is better than laying down in a meadow full of buttercups and just listen to the birds chirping, the insects buzzing and the occasional sound of my shutter taking a photo.
I’m planing on trekking the mountains you see in the background of this photo and I will of course bring my camera so stay tuned. Up there you get a fantastic view of many of the neighbor islands and the Atlantic ocean.

In Dead Meadow's universe, the wah-wah pedal is just as important as the guitar itself, and both are clearly more important than any sort of vocals. In fact, at first listen, singer/guitarist Jason Simon's barely audible whine puts the band's eponymous debut in some jeopardy before it has a chance to get underway. Coupled with the all-too-sluggish haze

Tonight we had two really good wines with dinner. We started with the Hartley Ostini Hitching Post 2004 Fiddlestix Santa rita Hills Pinot Noir. I have been drinking Pinots from Hitching Post for about 5 years now but this was my first time trying their Fiddlestix. Dark, dense ruby color in the glass. Jammy, ripe black berries and cherries with a hint of spice. A nice long finish. This is one of the most fruit forward Pinots that Hitching Post makes and I really enjoyed it. Only 220 cases made, you can find it on Winezap.com from $48.95.The second bottle we open was the Long Meadow Ranch 2003 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Long Meadow Ranch is located in the Mayacamas Mountains high above the valley floor of Napa Valley. They not only produce wine, but also olive oil, grass-fed beef, eggs, organic vegetables etc. Visit their website to find out more. The 2003 Cab has dark fruit and berries on the nose with some tobacco and tea.On the plate the dark fruit is more restrained with some bla

This wine has a bright, clear, dark, red color, with a hint of purple, in the glass. Promising on the nose with pleasant raspberry, a floral note, and slightly herbaceous (tarragon). On the palate though, it disappoints. Still some raspberry, tart berries, medium acidity and smooth tannins. This might not sound to bad, but it does miss any kind of punch, and comes across as thin, a little week, and has a short finish. I love Long Meadow Ranch and I am a LMR Corral Club member since several years, and always look forward to their shipments. I really enjoy their Cabernet Sauvignon, and it hurts me to say that this Sangiovese is not worth the $29 it retails for.I would love to hear from you if you are of another opinion.Vote for my blog here and help me reach top 10 on The Blog TopDid you know that you can vote once every 24 hours?!
