December 16th’s Race of Champions is going to seem awful empty without Colin McRae - but his brother Alister will be there to fly the flag for Scotland, it has been announced.
The younger McRae is no stranger to the event, having been beaten by his brother in the ‘98 Race of Champions final.
He said: “It will be difficult to be there but when Colin competed he always put on a good show. I know Colin wouldn’t want me sitting about and dwelling on things.
“Being there in his place will be difficult for me but hopefully we will do him proud. He has a reputation of going very well at the Race of Champions so it’s an honour to race for him.
“It’s supposed to be an end of year bit of fun, but everyone wants to win. As far as Colin was concerned, it was about driving as quick as possible and being spectacular.”

Last weekend saw the tragic death of one of rallying's most popular and respected figures, 1995 World Champion Colin McRae. While he may not have had the devastating consistency of the likes of Sebastian Loeb, he did approach every event he entered with a remarkably determined fighting spirit, winning the love and admiration of rally fans everywhere, as well as introducing a whole new generation to the sport.At this time, I'm reminded of Jacky Ickx's tribute to Jochen Rindt, the Ferrari F1 driver who in 1970 became the sport's only posthumous world champion:"Even if one can talk of an untimely death, all I can say is that the duration of a man's life should not be measured in days or hours, but by that which we achieve during the time given to us."Rest in peace Colin.

Another tragic death, one of many peoples icons Colin McRae, along with his son and 2 family friends died tragically in a Helicopter crash, on Saturday 15th September 2007.
It is understood that Colin was piloting the aircraft, when it crashed close to the McRae home around 16:00 on Saturday afternoon - all on-board, Colin McRae, his 5 year old son Johnny McRae, Family friend Graeme Duncan, and Johnny’s 6 year old friend Ben Porcelli died in the crash.

Se acabaron las CGIs que no sirven para nada que no sea inflar el hype: ésto son imágenes del juego en movimiento. Que cada uno juzgue si Colin McRae ha asimilado bien el salto a la Next-Gen. A mi personalmente ya me han vendido la moto.

Appena uscito il primo trailer dell’ attesissimo Colin Mcrae: D.I.R.T, che conferma quanto detto riguardo le features che ci proporrà. Grafica ad alti livelli ed estremo realismo, ci porteranno nelle più polverose maps che Codemasters abbia mai concepito.

La leggendaria saga di Colin McRea, che per anni ha appassionato anche i meno fanatici delle simulazioni di guida, torna con un’ avvincente uscita. Già mesi fa, CodeMaster, aveva dato alcune anticipazioni riguardo Colin McRae: DIRT, adesso arrivano nuovi screenshots e alcuni dettagli importanti.
Per quanto riguarda l’ aspetto grafico, si era già menzionato l’ estremo realismo del gioco, dove tutto è curato al minimo dettaglio. Ma la novità più importante di questi giorni riguarda le categorie di gara.
Oltre alle già annunciate Rally, Hill Climb, Rally Raid, Rally Cross e Crossover, si aggiunge una nuova categoria: C.O.R.R. (Championship Off-Road Racing), dove, tra fango e ghiaia, 10 partecipanti gareggeranno al limite dell’ immaginabile, mettendo a dura prova il proprio skill da driver.
Gli screenshots che vedete sono catturati dalla modalità replay, che seguirà e immortalerà i momenti salienti di ogni gara. La release per PC è prevista per il mese di
