I told you not to worry about the news of Donovan McNabb having shoulder tendinitis. On his Yardbarker Blog, McNabb wrote about his annual trip to Arizona and I think what he said is worth noting.
Speaking of the Eagles, fans might be happy to know that I’m in Arizona working out with Brian Dawkins. Next [...]
Donovan McNabb has been setting the record straight on his shoulder. Last week he did several radio interviews to clear up the situation with his shoulder. If you had any concerns before about his shoulder, then you should listen to this interview McNabb did with Howard Eskin. It will help you feel at ease.

Andy Reid spoke about the shoulder injury to Donovan McNabb, and he made it pretty clear that McNabb’s injury is no big deal. Here is what he had to say:
Slight shoulder tendinitis. That is nothing major, and for most players is not even news worthy. For Donovan the lightning rod of criticism, this injury becomes [...]

Eagles president Joe Banner spoke with Howard Eskin on 610 WIP, and had some interesting things to say. The biggest question people wanted to know, is what is the future of Donovan McNabb, and Andy Reid. Banner had this to say about Five:
“I can’t envision a situation in which (Donovan McNabb) is not our quarterback [...]
It appears that quarterback Donovan McNabb is back to being the starter in Philly, as on Wednesday he declared himself ready to go and that he’ll play against the Giants. McNabb has missed the past two plus games after suffering from an ankle and thumb injury vs the Dolphins back on November 18th at home. A.J. Feeley has been taking the place of McNabb, and after a huge first game against the Pats two weeks ago, he was awful against the Seahawks Sunday, throwing four picks in a home loss that put a huge dent in the teams playoff hopes.
McNabb has been getting slammed in the media in Philly, with fans and some of the media calling for a change at the QB position there - for good. The long-time Eagles signal caller said Wednesday that he does not care about how people perceive him. “It’s really none of my concern,” McNabb said. “I can’t waste my energy worrying about how people feel about me. I don’t have anything to prove. I’ve proven a
As if facing the best team in the recent history of the NFL on their home turf in a prime-time matchup is not bad enough, the Eagles look like they will be without their regular starting quarterback Sunday night. Donovan McNabb missed his third practice Friday due to a sprained ankle and hurt thumb, and he is doubtful to start against the undefeated New England Patriots. “He’s gotten a little better each day, so that’s a positive,” coach Andy Reid said.
The injury to McNabb took place during Sunday’s 17-7 win in Philly over the Dolphins last Sunday. The injury came on a tackle when Dolphins corner Michael Lehan pulled him down. McNabb has started every game this season after coming back from a torn knee ligament that took place last season during a loss to the Titans.
A.J. Feeley is expected to start the game vs the Pats when and if it becomes official that McNabb can’t go. He led the Eagles to a pair of TD’s in the win over the Fins last
The Philadelphia Eagles never seem to make things easy. Sunday at home against the winless Miami Dolphins, they lost starting QB Donovan McNabb to an ankle injury, yet despite trailing 7-0 in the second quarter were able to put together enough to improve to 5-5 with a 17-7 win. The Dolphins, who were starting rookie QB John Beck, were inept as usual on offense, only able to manage 182 net yards, with Beck having a first tough outing going just 8-for-21 for 105 yards. He and the team were only able to manage 9 first downs.
The Eagles took over trailing 7-3 at the half, and in the third quarter put together a solid drive to start the half, as they drove 72 yards in 8 plays with A.J. Feeley completing three passes and Cornell Buckhalter wrapping up the drive with an 8-yard run to put the Eagles ahead to stay 10-7. With the Dolphins unable to move on offense, they Eagles defese took over, forcing pressure on Beck, and Jesse Chatman having to carry the load. Chatman’s rushing took
Get Rid Of Reid?:The Eagles are off to a dreadful start this season. I doubt anybody expected a 3-5 record to this point of the season. While everybody is searching for answers, let me remind them of this.Andy Reid is a great coach. Take a look at his body of work in Philadelphia. In 2006, Reid overcame a 5-6 start and the loss of two of their most explosive players in quarterback Donovan McNabb and defensive end Jevon Kearse in leading the team to season-ending, five-game win streak to capture the NFC East division championship. The 2004 Eagles clinched the NFC East title with five games remaining in the regular season and the #1 seed in the NFC playoffs after a 13-1 start. Along the way, Reid passed Greasy Neale (66) for the most wins in franchise history. The Eagles earned their first trip to the Super Bowl since 1980 after defeating Atlanta in the NFC Championship game.In 2003, the Eagles overcame a 0-2 start and a slew of injuries to post their second consecutive 12-win season. Duri
Terrell Owens came out firing Friday and didn't stop until he ensured he would receive another rude reception in Philadelphia. Two days after saying his feud with Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was a thing of the past, the Dallas Cowboys receiver took repeated shots on his weekly radio show at McNabb and his former team."It's so evident that ever since I left nothing's been going right there," said Owens, ignoring the fact Philadelphia won the NFC East title last season. "I'm not saying I'm the sole reason, but when I was there we were very successful. Now it seems like everything's snowballing."Owens played two seasons for the Eagles, helping them reach the Super Bowl in 2004. But Philadelphia cut him after the 2005 season, a campaign in which he tore apart the team's locker room with his contract demands and continual sniping at McNabb. The Eagles stumbled out of the gate this season and will take a 3-4 record into Sunday's game with the 6-1 Cowboys. Despite his team's stru
It started innocently. Donovan McNabb said earlier in the week thatanyone's plans to win the NFC East have to go through Philadelphia. And mostCowboys agreed with the quarterback, based on the five division titles theEagles have won in the last six years.Until, that is, Thursday."Right now, they are in no position to talk about everything goingthrough Philly," Cowboys safety Roy Williams said of the 3-4 Eagles."Some teams went to Philly and beat them. No one is worried about 'You have to go through Philly.'>>DallasNews.comThanks for the bulletin board material Roy. I doubt the Eagles really needed another reason to hate the Cowgirls, but you just gave them one.Williams could have taken the high road, but obviously he is a classless punk. Why is he talking, when he is always out of position?
Donovan McNabb is the first to admit that in the first five games of the season, the Eagles have dug themselves a pretty big hole. Sitting at the bottom of the NFC East and having already dropped games to division rivals Washington and New York, some might say it is time to start thinking about the Wild Card. Not McNabb."I think one thing that people tend to forget is - the NFC East championship comes through Philadelphia," he said yesterday. "We have to protect our territory and we have enough time to do that."While the situation could undoubtedly be more favorable, McNabb fully believes that until someone officially knocks them off, the Eagles remain the kings of the NFC East. Yes, Dallas is 5-1, New York is 4-2 and Washington is 3-2, but McNabb feels as though if the Eagles take care of their business, anything can happen."I think at this point, it's hard to say where anybody is. You may start out 5-0 and you could tail off," McNabb said. "The Giants started 6-2 last year and then t
Gregg Hayim of Jets Confidential has some quote up from Donovan McNabb who advises Jets QB Chad Pennington to not listen to the critics.
McNabb on Pennington…
“I talked to Chad in the preseason and it must be this whole radius with Eli (Manning). Chad and I, everybody seems to have a great time talking about us and getting us out of here. You have to take it with a grain of salt.”
“Statistically, Chad is not doing badly at all. He’s completed 71 percent of his balls, although he would like to have a couple throws back. I think one thing for Chad, and I told him this preseason, is for the team to stay focused and not to worry about that. Those same people who talk badly about you or down to you are the first ones to pat you on the back when you are doing well.”
In a stupid rant about Barack O'bama, known bigot Rush Limbaugh decided to call O'bama, "Barack O'McNabb". I found this picture from his gay website. Now I could care less about politics, but don't you think it's time leave McNabb alone already? Rush was already made to look like a fool the first time he tried this stunt. Not only is McNabb not "overrated", but comparing him to a politician is downright stupid. I could stoop to Rush's low level, but I am better than that. Instead I will just remind everybody of what we are dealing with. A known drug addict.
As the old saying goes, the more things change, the more they remain the same. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, if what he showed on Friday night means anything, looked like the McNabb of old against the Carolina Panthers on Friday night. McNabb’s numbers looked like this: 6 for 9, 138 yards, and a touchdown, all of this in 4 drives down the field. Not bad for his first start coming back from knee surgery.
As you would expect, McNabb was wearing that bulky knee brace on his right knee, but that apparently did not affect his effectiveness on the field at all. He’ll have plenty of time to leave the pocket and make a long run or two this season, but according to McNabb as told to The Associated Press, “It wasn’t a test for me at all. I already know I can play this game and play at a high level.” OK Donovan, we get the hint. Apparently, Eagles head coach liked what he saw in McNabb, as well.

Playing his first game since tearing a knee ligament last November, McNabb did everything but scramble in the Philadelphia Eagles’ 27-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Friday night.
The five-time Pro Bowl quarterback put on an aerial display in the first quarter, finishing 6-for-9 for 138 yards, including a 58-yard strike to tight end Matt Schobel. He led the Eagles (1-1) to 10 points on four possessions, before giving way to backup A.J. Feeley.
Eagles Quarterback Donovan McNabb, recovering from surgery on his right knee, will not play Monday when the Eagles open their preseason with a game in Baltimore against the Ravens. McNabb hasn’t played in a game since he tore a ligament against the Tennessee Titans on Nov. 19.

Nothing too surprising here. They’ve been saying they’re going to take it easy with McNabb during the pre-season. I would expect to see him briefly by the 3rd pre-season game.
After praising Lehigh University for their hospitality and facilities, head coach Andy Reid bluntly delivered the news that the reporters in attendance were waiting for - quarterback Donovan McNabb will not play in Monday night's preseason opener at Baltimore.McNabb's first game action since he tore the ACL in his right knee last November will come Friday night when the Eagles host Carolina in the home preseason opener. While Reid stated in his press conferences during training camp that he wasn't sure of whether McNabb would play Monday, he admitted on Sunday that resting McNabb was decided some time ago."He worked well and he seemed strong (during training camp)," said Reid. "I'd rather just start him off at our place on grass."A.J. Feeley will start at quarterback and the first-team offense will play the entire first quarter. Quarterback Kelly Holcomb will run the second-team offense for the second quarter and Kevin Kolb, the team's first draft pick in April, will play the entir
Another year, another Super Bowl prediction by Donovan McNabb. This time, the naysayers might take notice.Last year in training camp, McNabb said the Eagles were contenders capable of reaching the Super Bowl -- even after coming off a 6-10 season. Then, McNabb went down with a knee injury and missed the final six games of last season. But the Birds staged a miraculous turnaround and fell a victory shy of reaching the NFC championship game.Entering his ninth season as Eagles quarterback, McNabb has every reason to be brimming with confidence."Last year, I said we were a Super Bowl team, and everybody kind of laughed about it and didn't understand what I was saying," said McNabb, who sat out Monday as he rested his sore knee. "We were pretty much a couple of plays from the NFC championship again. I guess people think that what I say is right, now. I doubt it, but we'll see how far it goes this year."With McNabb, the Eagles lost three straight NFC title games before breaking through and e
Quarterback Donovan McNabb sat out practice on Monday for the first time in a week. McNabb's surgically-repaired knee was a little sore this morning, so he and the coaching staff erred on the side of caution by letting him sit that practice out. It was the first time McNabb hasn't practiced since last Monday, when he took his regularly-scheduled break during the final rookie and selected veterans practice."Hopefully, we were due for one," McNabb said, laughing. "(I had) a little soreness, and was just being smart. All of us are on the same page, knowing that I've kind of been battling through for about 14 or 15 straight practices."McNabb, who said he has been running drills the same way he would if he didn't have knee surgery, felt a little soreness building up on Sunday so the team decided he wouldn't practice on Monday. He knew the field would be slick from rain on Monday, but that was not a major factor in his decision.Since he had gone a week straight, he doesn't see this sor

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — Donovan McNabb says he doesn’t need to be completely healthy to be a force to be reckoned with in the NFL. Donovan McNabb emerged from the locker room with an air of ease Saturday morning before the inaugural practice of the 2007 training camp. The quarterback played to the infantry line of cameras assembled to film his entrance, joked with any and all around him and, most of all, McNabb smiled. But recovering quarterback was slightly more serious after practice, speaking to the media about the health of his knee and his future in Philadelphia.McNabb revealed that while he would have no way of knowing exactly what percentage of health his knee is at until his first game action, he speculated that he was "probably still at 75 percent."But with that diagnosis, the franchise quarterback also included a disclaimer."At 75 percent, I personally feel I can be one of best quarterbacks in this league," McNabb said.Yet McNabb sounded both parts confident and cautious during his address. Donovan has been one of the most productive passers in the NFL when healthy. Over 8 seasons he’s thrown for 152 touch downs to just 72 interceptions. Last season, McNabb tore his ACL in Week 11; which marked the third time in five seasons he failed to stay healthy for a full 16 games. Although most believe he’ll be able to return back to form by the beginning of the season, drafting Kevin Kolb in the second tells there’s a bit of concern.

They are focusing on traditional exercises that emphasize strength training, stability, acceleration/deceleration and change of direction. McClellan also incorporates some unusual drills. Peter King shows us again why he should really just stop thinking. In his most recent article for SI.com, he ranks all 32 NFL quarterbacks, and ranks Donovan McNabb 12th. Twelve??!!? You gotta be kidding me. How the heck is one of the best QBs ranked 12th? Here is his lame reasoning..."It's not that I don't like Donovan McNabb. I do. I just don't trust him tostay healthy. Prior to this week, most Eagles fans didn't expect to see Donovan McNabb take the field for at least another few weeks. We hoped he'd be ready to get into the action during training camp come August. As if hearing the whispers that he had lost something due to injury, Eagles QB Donovan McNabb was back on the practice field for the first time in since last November, eager to prove that he was still one of the best throwers in the National Football League. McNabb, who has made more headlines off the field this past offseason, participated in non-contact drills in what was his first on the field action since he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on Novmeber 19th.
First there was the sitting back and watching as Jeff Garcia led the Eagles to the NFC East title and the divisional round of the playoffs, where they fell to the Saints. Then there was the talk that the team should get rid of McNabb and keep Garica, which didn’t happen as Jeff signed with the Buccaneers. Then the team drafted QB Kevin Kolb in the second round with their first pick, reportedly making McNabb upset as if they were pushing him out.
Now though, he is back on the field, and report

All Signs Positive In McNabb's Return To PracticeBy JOHN CLAYTONDonovan McNabb returned to the practice field at the NovaCare Complex on Monday, marking the first time the quarterback has participated in practice since tearing his right ACL against the Tennessee Titans on November 19 last season.McNabb's participation in Organized Team Activities was limited, as the Eagles coaches took precautions to protect the franchise quarterback."He looked great," offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said of McNabb immediately after practice. "You couldn't tell that he was gone. He's made differently I think."After warming up and running through a few offensive plays during individual drills, McNabb participated in 11-on-11 drills against a defensive scout team. From AP:Donovan McNabb had the same reaction most fans had when the Philadelphia Eagles selected quarterback Kevin Kolb with their first pick in last month’s NFL draft.”It was shocking,” McNabb said yesterday in an interview on WIP-AM radio.Speaking publicly for the first time since the draft on April 28-29, McNabb downplayed the perception he’s upset the Eagles selected his eventual successor.
The five-time Pro Bowl quarterback also said his rehab is going well following surgery for a torn knee ligament and he expects to play in the pre-season.
“When you draft somebody at the position you’re in, of course you naturally have questions,” McNabb said.
“The most important thing for me is to make sure I’m healthy and 100% and get back out there competing and do the right thing on the field.”
McNabb met with coach Andy Reid soon after the draft, but wouldn’t reveal details of their conversation.
My Take: Watching the longest
You’ve got to love the Eagles quick moves to try and soothe quarterback Donovan McNabb after the team did the right thing in planning for the future this past weekend in drafting a quarterback with their first pick. Word is Donovan’s ego was riled after the team went out and snagged Houston quarterback Kevin Kolb with the 36th pick of the draft. Quick to make things right, Eagles coach Andy Reid called McNabb, telling him not to worry, that drafting Kolb was not a sign that McNabb’s job is in jeopardy.
My question is - why not? Sure Donovan was having a great season last year before getting hurt, but let’s face the facts. It’s now two straight years that an injury to the Chunky Soup star has put the Eagles season on life support. Two years ago, they never recovered and had a bad season, while last year they were saved by the tremendous QB play of Jeff Garcia, and made it to the second round of the playoffs.
So why not plan ahead? With Garcia in
