Bad news for the McLaren lovers. It production shall stop as the company cannot achieve its target of producing 400 to 500 units per year. According to sources, McLaren SLR Roadster -the Coupe stopped being produced at the end of 2007, thus ending the supercar's five-year scheduled run. Even though the SLR's production rose to 275 units last year, up by 14 cars compared to 2006. Yet, it is believed that the targets are set very high as the car buyers are still estimated to increase gradually.

I was trying to find further information regarding SLR's breaks.I know that they are especially made for McLaren-Merceds SLR and are very hard to find....But... They are made by Brembo!Front brake system is Ceramic compound for both disks and friction bodies -pads- and an 8-pot brembo made calliper -probably withoun any changes from the stock 8-pot model.Same goes for rear breaks.Ceramic compound for disk and pads and 4-pot brembo made calipers.Few years a go, I owned a Mercedes E200Kompressor, the W211 model.After one year of driving, I decided to start upgrading and tuning.First step were the brakes.I went to a new-Benz-parts dealer and asked for the bigest brakes they had.They told me that the biggest they had, were from an SL55AMG8-pot front calipers, 4-pot rear calipers... And that the next best thing was Ceramcs from SLR.So I got them on my car.Now....If you take a good look at the first picture, you will see that the calliper is exactly the same with the one found on the SLR's
