      Me and Jerry McGuire
When in the course of human events....no wait that's  the Declaration of Independence. Oh yeah. More post Blogher drama over at Blurbomat. Oh my goodness, will some people just not grow up? Remember what mama used to tell you about sticks and stones. I'm absolutely sure that this woman is human. She's not a mythical hobbit, nor Santa Claus, nor is she Jesus.  Jenny, The Blogess pointed out tha

Say goodbye to Lizzie McGuire; Hilary Duff's new tough stuff image
Look, I know the Disney stars have to grow up at some point, but what's so wrong with taking the good girl image with them into their adult years?"After the premiere of Hilary Duff's first R-rated movie, War, Inc., Newsday reporter Lewis Beale described Duff's character, Yonica Babyyeah, as "a foul-mouthed, oversexed and underdressed Central Asian pop singer so outrageous she makes Madonna look li

Sam Raimi might want to direct SPIDERMAN 4 and Tobey McGuire might Return too
It was said a long time ago that Sam Raimi was done with Spiderman franchise. He wants to go back to the horror genre that he was known for way before helming your friendly neighborhood superhero. But apparently he might be having some second thoughts, it all depends on how good the new script by screenwriter [...]

Eve of Destruction by Barry Mcguire
I love this song so I put some gathered pictures to it that are significant to its theme. Some people think that I am trying to equate Hitler and Stalin to Castro and to Bush. Let me be clear that I am not. They were all simply involved in world conflict somehow. No [...]

      Number 543 - Barry McGuire
Number 543Barry McGuire"Eve of Destruction"(1965)...Genre:Folk Rockart by Latuff2Some songs are timeless and some are just as important today. "Eve of Destruction" sounds Dylanesque to the core, but where this song differs is it's not as all "self important" as Dylan is, rather the "Eve of Destruction" song is honest ... "world importance". I can imagine every Dylan fan wants to grab their AK47's in disgust of such a comment, but then that is the contradiction between the two artists.Another interesting aspect about this song is that even though it's about the Vietnam War it does not have that sensation of Hippynism, as one would imagine flowers and Tie-Dye exploding. This song is rockier, edgier, almost a "Lennon" like chant as "Give Peace a Chance". If desired, this song would need only a few tweaks and guitar modulations and it would be a number 1 hit in 2007, just in time for the (sponsered by)"i-Pod War aka Iraq Police Action" or even the "Iran WW III Conflict"The eastern world

Do you want to beat this thing? Read the Bible... by Gene McGuire (Guest Writer) (Monday, September 24, 2007)
Editor's Note: Most people are facing something big and need God's help. If you don't; ask around. I wanted to write to you about the CRITICAL IMPORTANCE of reading the bible every day for at least 30 minutes to an hour. I believe this is a key to the Open Door. I found this article written by Gene McGuire and I couldn't have expressed it better) BY GENE MCGUIRE...Be diligent to present yourself approved to God. . . .rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15) COMMENT: Have you ever taken something for granted and then after a period of time your eyes are opened to a deeper understanding? Well, that happened to me the other day. You probably have been aware of what I am about to mention, but it took me 70 years to clearly see the obvious. What I’m talking about is a part of speech called a “contraction”. For all these years I never gave a second thought as to why that name was given to those particular words; it was just another word l

Father's Day by Gene McGuire, Guest Writer (Sunday, June 10, 2007)
The Family Good News -Letter 23rd Year June 17, 2007 Dear Friends and Family, Father’s Day has never been a big deal to me until some 25 years ago; you see, I never really knew my biological dad. I am told that we had contact until I was about 5 years old, but my only recollections are those told to me by my three sisters. Eugene, Sr., supposedly, was a great dad but left a lot to be desired as a husband. It is alleged that he was quite a musician, loved to sing, had an outgoing, pleasant personality and got along with people very well. His fatal flaw – something my mother just couldn't deal with – was his love for booze. I know what he looks like because I have a picture of him in my bedroom. Now, I could say that I love my Dad, but those would be just empty words because I never really knew him first hand. I can’t recall him ever buying me ice cream from the Good Humor Man, tucking me

What do you "really" know about hope? by Gene McGuire (Guest Writer) (TUESDAY, MAY 14, 2007)
"Faith is the substance of the things hoped for the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1)NOTE: When the word hope is used in the bible, it is not a wishy-washy wishing kind of thing. Recently I came across an explanation of that word which was so excellent that I wanted to share it with you. (The following is from "The Daily Devotional Bible" by Thomas Nelson Publishers, page 799.)Hope is the desire for something with the expectation of fulfillment. Hope involves trust in someone or something on which the expectation is centered. The Christian's hope is "sure and steadfast" (Heb. 6:19). Any hope is only as sure as its source is dependable. Christian hope is fixed upon God and His Word. Since God is omnipotent, He can fulfill that hopeful desire that He creates in His children. The hope of the wicked is described as being as fragile as the hope of the reeds when water is removed from their roots. (Job 8:11, 12) The hope of the godless is as fragile as a spider's web. (v. 14) He

Tobey McGuire, Fiance Jen Meyer and Baby..
Who Tobey McGuire really is? With Spider-Man 3 currently playing in the local cinemas, one never stops to wonder how he currently started. Maguire’s mother was actually an 18-year-old office worker, his father a 20-year-old restaurant cook married her, and they were only briefly married a couple years after Maguire was born. His childhood was spent in Washington, Oregon, and California, including some of the seedier sections of Los Angeles. The family was occasionally on welfare, poor when he with his mother, and sometimes he was stashed with grandparents or other relatives. At 13, Maguire decided he wanted to be a “chef” like his old man. He even signed up for a home economics class, but his mother said she would give him $100 if he took a drama class instead. After ninth grade, he dropped out of high school to free his time for more acting assignments. Maguire had met Leonardo DiCaprio at casting calls, and in 1993 that friendship got Maguire a small part in DiCapr

GOOD JOB BUDDY!!!I remember that hunt very well because that is the day I knew I would be hunting with Brandon for the rest of my life!Power line Legacyby Brandon McGuireNot having a father figure in my life while being raised in a single parent home by my mother made it hard sometimes and I had to learn the qualities of a man from watching other parents and examples in the community. I have been fortunate to have had several men step into my life to be role models. While attending a JAKES day event with my mother we crossed paths with Kevin Paulson. He offered to take me hunting and from then on our relationship grew. He has been able to teach me how to hunt ethically and still have an exciting time. Two years ago I was able to go hunting with Kevi
