John McCain gave a speech today on global warming that sent shivers up and down my spine, and not good shivers either. John McCain has jumped aboard the global warming alarmist bandwagon, and has hitched his horse to the came carriage as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. This is just another issue where he is [...]

There he goes again… John McCain piously pandering to the MSM (main stream media), and “soccer moms” who simply don’t have the time or inclination to do the hard work of finding the truth on a given issue.
This time his pandering was on so-called man-made global warming and the environment. This from Reuters:

During a 2005 sermon, a fundamentalist pastor whom Senator John McCain has praised and campaigned with called Islam "the greatest religious enemy of our civilization and the world," claiming that the historic mission of America is to see "this false religion destroyed." In this taped sermon, currently sold by his megachurch, the Reverend Rod Parsley reiterates and amplifies harsh and derogatory comments about Islam he made in his book, Silent No More, published the same year he delivered these remarks. Meanwhile, McCain has stuck to his stance of not criticizing Parsley, an important political ally in a crucial swing state. In March 2008—two weeks after McCain appeared with Parsley at a Cincinnati campaign rally, hailing him as "one of the truly great

My friends in the blogosphere and I have spent weeks now pointing out just how disastrously similar a John McCain presidency would be to the current administration. Friday’s lead editorial in the New York Times shows that one slice of the establishment media now agrees:
The United States needs a clean break from eight catastrophic years of George W. Bush. And so far, Senator John McCain is shaping up as Bush the Sequel — neverending war in Iraq, tax cuts for the rich while the middle class struggles, courts packed with right-wing activists intent on undoing decades of progress in civil rights, civil liberties and other vital areas.
In a column that mostly focuses on the need for the Clinton and Obama campaigns to begin to come together for the Democratic Conventions and the fall campa

John McCain appeared on The Daily Show last night. He can go wherever he wants, easy to do when you're not locked in a ridiculous, futile contest. I digress.McCain sat down with Jon Stewart to talk politics, the secret service, Mao, and general old man hilarity. You can watch the whole thing here and here but the part of interest came when McCain quipped that his running mate should be none other than Dwight Shrute, assistant to the Regional Manager of Dunder-Mifflin Scranton...and fictional. His staffers probably don't want to tell him it's not really a documentary.I kid. Obama is all smiles since North Carolina followed South Carolina's path in securing a Democratic primary win for Sen. Barack Obama. The mainstream media--who has often shown nothing but love for Obama and all his warts--has primarily given Obama a free ride through the primary as he has stumped "hope" and "unification" but has shown us nothing but "separation" and "bitterness"-from his wife to his Pastor. The MSM has now essentially declared Obama the winner of the Democratic nomination but there's something it appears to be missing. In a speech at Oakland University in Minnesota today, John McCain once again proved you can reduce issues down to cartoonish simplicities. McCain vowed to fight religious persecution, human trafficking, and child pornography if he becomes president. No word whether he will add people who kick puppies to this shit list.McCain actually listed China, Iran, Myanmar, Sudan, North Korea and Saudi Arabia for restricting religious freedom. I think he may have left our country off the list with its continuing confusion about the separation of church and state on top of the fact that elected officials who do not believe in superstitions are hard to come by.Child pornography was also on McCain's list of evil, which is such a risky stand to take in this day and age. Yesterday John McCain was trying to woo the conservative base of his party, which is a good idea since in the North Carolina primary 27% of Republicans (23% in Indiana) voted against the guy, even though he has a lock on the nomination.McCain promised to appoint "conservatives" to the Supreme Court, saying that his “ nominees will understand that there are clear limits to the scope of judicial power, and clear limits to the scope of federal power." Cool—but I wonder if he will appoint a justice inclined to overrule McConnell v. This one may make you dizzy if you think about it hard. Sen. McCain, in the course of misstating Clinton and Obama's health care plans, made fun of government airport security, saying "the next time you think the government should take over the health-care system of America, go to our airport and go through security."
Who was the commie who proposed that the government take over airport security in the first place? Why, none other than Sen. John McCain. Back in 2001, he said "the safety and security of our airports and airliners is a government responsibility," and "rolled his eyes" at those who opposed federalizing airport security. He assured a mother who lost a son on 9/11 that he would make sure "all airports in America [with 5 exceptions] will have a federal security force

I like that he wants to talk to all Americans- however they want to distinguish themselves -unless they're totally repulsive like the KKK or Reverend Wright or William Ayers. McCain supporter John Bolton, the former ambassador to the United Nations who once declared "there is no such thing as the UN", calls for military action against Iran, bizarrely declaring it's "the prudent thing to do".

One of the most effective charges that can be leveled against George W. Bush - beyond the ineptitude, lawbreaking, and destructive policies - is that he surrounded himself with the wrong people. They were either hopelessly incompetent (Condoleezza Rice), completely surrounded by conflicts of interest (Donald Rumsfeld), or simply evil (Dick Cheney - no link required). In fact, of the nine most trusted advisers Bush brought up from Texas with him in 2000, all of them have now resigned in disgrace.
In short, we've seen what America under the dubious leadership of an awful man can become, but we've also seen what happens when that man surrounds himself with equally awful allies. It should be readily apparent that the people our next President chooses for his or her Cabinet is of the utmost i
Hillary Clinton lost me for good when she said that John McCain has crossed the commander-in-chief threshold but suggested that Barack Obama has not. She shouldn't be so quick to concede that McCain is ready to be commander-in-chief. Perhaps Clinton is awed by his military background (certainly, the media gives McCain a free pass), but the rest of us should be able to consider the question soberly.
McCain claims that his military experience qualifies him to be president during war time. Has anyone bothered to question this piece of received wisdom? McCain deserves credit for his service–but the war he served in ended 33 years ago. Saying McCain's service n Vietnam qualifies him to be commander-in-chief in 2008 would be like saying a World War I veteran's experience qual
Bob Barr, former GOP congressman from Georgia, is an all-but-announced presidential candidate - as a Libertarian. Barr, who will probably not declare his intentions for several days, has already been labeled a "spoiler." This is fantastic news for the world, who doesn't need a third term for the Bush-ites.read more | digg story
While Faux News and the other main stream media are harping daily on Barack Obama and Reverend Wright, John McCain's most famous Christian endorser John Hagee continues to make ridiculously offensive statements and not be called on the carpet.Watch the 1 minute clip below to see Hagee compare the Roman Catholic Church to Adolph Hitler, say Catholicism is a "false religious system", call it 'The Great Whore", and that it will be destroyed by the Anti-Christ. Hagee also says Hitler didn't do "anything that has not been done by the Roman Church for the past 800 years."Hagee has not faced one true word of rebuke from McCain, not one word on Faux News saying his statements are offensive to the 1 billion Catholics worldwide. And this clip is the tip of the iceberg, Hagee has said much worse thi
I’ve written before about the plans for a gas tax holiday from Hillary Clinton and John McCain, but which one is pandering worse?
We should all realize by now that the gas tax holiday is NOT going to happen, which is probably why McCain and Clinton feel so comfortable calling for it. The only significant [...]
