Martina McBride, once opened one of her album with a scratchy recording of herself at seven years old, belting out an old country hit, “I’m Little But I’m Loud.” It’s a title that certainly describes her well.
She is widely acknowledged as the premier female vocalist in country music today and currently has ten albums, of which two are certified gold, and seven are certified platinum or higher. She also has charted more than thirty singles on the U.S. country singles charts.
The petite powerhouse sings songs in the mezzo-soprano range, and because of her strong voice, she has been labeled the “Céline Dion of country music”. Martina, like Céline, is noted for her vocal range, power, and minimal use of melisma (the technique of changing the note’s pitch of a single syllable while sung). McBride once stated that she learned how to sing at such a wide range by listening to Pat Benatar’s music and trying to emulate that vocal range.

McBride suffered a nasty knee injury, while scoring a goal, in a match this past August.Fulham coach Lawrie Sanchez expects Brian to return to action on December 22nd against Wigan. The boss is certainly happy to see the big striker coming back.Coach Sanchez said "We can't afford to miss players of Brian's quality - that's why the front two have been mixed and matched all season since then."Brian is one tough S-O-B and as a fan of both American soccer and Fulham FC, I am thrilled to see he made such a speedy recovery.
