I was more su

In this picture I believe you can see some five-spot burnets (Zygaena trifolii) mating, but it could also be the similar six-spot burnet (Zygaena filipendulae) because the spots can be merged. If anyone is an expert on this please let me know by leaving a comment. I would also like to know what the flowers are called. Anyways. It looks like the insects are having a really good time Check out my other insect photos. QUESTION # 562: MEDDLING MATING
Dear Useless Men, In light of how insightful you were when answering my last question (#351)--and since following your advice, I've found myself 8 lbs. lighter and far more comfortable cutting off senseless email contact with the "'little' brain"--I would like to ask a new question that I'm completely without an answer to: I recently attended a casual dinner party at a male friend's house with many of his female and male friends. After many drinks and lots of fun, the party disbanded and I was one of the last ones out the door. My friend offered his bed since I was far from home--and he made it clear he would stay on the sofa--but I opted to take a taxi back. After my friend walked me downstairs to a taxi and I was about to hop in, he pulled out his wallet and asked if I had enough cash and started to offer me money. Do purely platonic friends make that kind of gesture? (None of my other cheapass friends have ever behaved that way!) I got a bit of a vibe of interest from him earl

The Mating Act of a Ladybird
To describe the copulative behavior of a ladybird, or a coccinellidae as it is called among scientists, is actually quite hard due to the fact that the category contains at least 5000 different species (I wonder if they can tell the difference between us and say a gorilla). The account that I will give here will no doubt be oversimplified and perhaps only applies to a fraction of the 5000 different species, but it is nevertheless a fascinating type behavior. So imagine that you are a female ladybird. Because you are already four days old you feel it is really about time that you get a hold of yourself and cease to live your life in an aimless fashion. You feel that it is time to get pregnant. While wandering about on your green plant reflecting on where your life has gone you suddenly look up and see an attractive male about 2 cm ahead (which is about how far a ladybird can see). You feel really flattered when this handsome stud mounts you, but then, when he is just about to insert his

Every proton and neutron is made of three quarks. But all three quarks together account for less than 2 percent of the total mass of any proton or neutron. So where does the rest of the mass come from? Physicists ***theorize**** that each quark in every atomic nucleus is surrounded by countless 'virtual particles' that constantly emerge from the vacuum and then almost instantaneously subside into nothingness again. It is these eva
